I love Florida panthers. They’re such cool wild cats and they’re starting to become the state animal of Florida.

As a Florida resident in Ocala, this documentary Path of The Panther while not only brilliantly filmed and incredibly informative, also helped SAVE the Florida panther and many many more species with the Wildlife corridor protection act information from this documentary supported. Thank you!!! And I’ve had my Save The Florida Panther tag on my truck for several years now!

As a Californian in the heart of Western mountain lion territory; every picture of a Florida panther makes me feel that they are simply cousins and siblings of California mountain lions, even if I have heard that only a certain Texas population can healthfully breed with Florida panthers to keep them going with healthy genetic diversity.
After seeing a map after initially hearing about the Florida wildlife corridor to help expand the Panthers’ population and range back into the southern states; it has given me the idea of interstate wildlife corridors that will be very necessary to keep what is left of the natural ecosystems of the 48 states healthy. I hope that can be arranged, and I hope to be a part of such a movement orchestrating that.
May the mountain lions and their cousins roar across their territory. They are very much my favorite American Apex predator with the various ecosystems they inhabit.

About 2006 I was riding my bike early in the morning near the Southwest Florida Int Airport in Fort Myers and there he or she was crossing in front of me. A youngun since it had its spots. I stopped and we studied each other for some time. It remains one of my "moments" while living in Florida. Oh how I wished I had taken a photo. Sadly, it seems that it is more important to pave that area over and now there are thousands of homes and apartments. And some people will tell you it is time for the kitties to move for "progress."

No such thing as a black panther. It’s a recessive Jean like being Albano in leopards and jaguars. So a black panther is actually a “black jaguar/leopard”.
