damn all of these NY House dance OGs like Caleaf, Ejoe, Shan S, Brooklyn Terry, Marjory, and many others really got that charm in their movement and groove..
I like both, but my overall favorite is Terry. He has crazy footwork, but seemed to be just taking it easy and having fun during this battle. Kapella will do a crazy footwork set for about 10 seconds then he seems to not be as connected to the music as Terry. I wish I could dance as good as either one of them!!!!
i think - terry (mohawk) was the judge at this right? the winners get to "compete" against the judges... which is great because you can see that terry is worthy of being a judge... kapela was nice but terry was one with the music and that's all the difference. He was also technically very precise but thats because his technique has been honed in the clubs for decades.
Hey, this reply is a year late, but you know it brother! People are finally getting into "House Dance" and the best thing about it is to see some of the folks from back in the day representing as judges at these comps. For the sake of House Music, they can lead the future generations of dancers to stay close to the rhythm, feel the music, be creative with it, the music is what dictates the style of dance.
Let me say this you cant compare style and grace with someone who is just dancing to music no feeling or a vibe just dancing no disrespect to Kapela. Terry is super clean in all his vid"s.
RU a musician? mohawk guy seemed on beat to me. but creative musicality. like bebop. making up shit. playing around. & looked like he was throwing in more chi style. modern chi footwork rather than classic jack.
it was cool i still go hard in the pant zans ego trip red zone just to name a few spots. yes the battles arent what they use to be but house is my life my religion hats off to both dancers bk T nice foot work you already know to the other dude nice going plz continue to practice. 1
Im sorry but how did kapela get this one. Brooklyn T first round alone took it. He looked as if he was just Chillin. Brooklyn t tranaformed all that energy to the crowd. They went nuts
