- #Abidjan is a city on the southern Atlantic coast of Côte d'Ivoire, in West Africa. It's the country’s major urban center, with skyscrapers rising above the Ébrié Lagoon. Modern landmarks include La Pyramide, a ziggurat-like building. St. Paul's Cathedral is a swooping structure tethered to a massive cross. Artwork, cultural relics and handicrafts are on display at Le Musée des Civilisations de Côte d'Ivoire.

Ivory Coast 🇨🇮 is a silent giant of Africa . Beautiful Abidjan!
Exactly, I am a Nigerian living in Abidjan, the country is very organized good but very expensive
Nigeria earned the honor of giants of Africa and counting.
1) Help set up African Unity in Adis Ababa.
2) Accommodated Ghanaians for 2 decades during their economic crisis.
3) Supported and ended the war in Liberia with Nigerian army task force ECOMOG.
4) Supported South Africa with $1bn dollars during apartheid.
5)Send military support to Angola to restore peace in that nation.
6)The headquarters of ECOWAS.
7)Funding and Fighting terrorists insurgency in West Africa shore alone.
8) Hosted FESTAC for all African nations in 1977- Festival of arts and culture of all Africa nations in Lagos to facilitate Africanunity.
9) Recently stood to Britain and forcing it to remove African nations from their Covid-19 no- fly red list.
10) Nigeria is home to all Africans, every one is welcome and treated equally as native Nigeria. We've the responsibility to be our brother's keeper.
Too much this country has done for African continent and yet haters deny everything on record in a straight face.

I want to know what single thing other African nations has done for others.

The term 'Giant of Africa' was and is based on that countries' giant population, and it still stands. Although Ivory Coast is making giant strides in other areas, which other countries should emulate, such as cleanliness and greening of cities adequately.

So, I was born here in Abidjan in 1995, but I was brought to Nigeria to live with my grandmother when I was like 3-5 years old (cos my parents are Nigerians), now I will be 27 in a month.
Though both my parents were still there when I was brought to Nigeria, and my chance of visiting again would have been high if not for death that took them from me one after the other some couple of years ago.
Now I just have to work hard to be able to go back there by myself someday.
I so much love it dearly and still see it as my home even though I was so young when I left, but I don't know there is just something drawing me to just go back.
Maybe when I finally do visit I may even just settle down there, fingers crossed. 🤞

@@jyde50 There are gutters in almost every third world country including Asia and South America!
They do have their purpose!
But our approach to gutters in Lagos and Nigeria is beyond the pale!
We don’t oversee our gutters and canals enough, so they overflow with filth and grime, to the point where they are a serious health hazard!
Our complete lack of local or municipal governments in Nigeria over the decades have become an acute problem now !
No accountability whatsoever!
A Local government chairman in Nigeria today, is more likely to be an unschooled conveyor of political henchmen , goons and thugs solely for marshalling election campaign purposes!
Lagos in particular needs effective proactive municipal councils to work with the state government so as to uplift the standards of life for Lagosians!
We need the best possible persons in Nigeria to be at the base (grassroots) of our democratic process, so as to build our societies from the bottom up!

And I know you will help us discover them. Their music is one of a kind too. Why are Nigerians and Ghanians Always bickering on "who is the best". This is Côte d'Ivoire time guys. Take a chill pill and move your confusion elsewhere. No other nation in Africa does that!!!! Only the people of these two countries. It is getting to be tiresome for us and is bringing down two great nations. African countries are all unique in their genre. Let us appréciation. CI je vous aime, vos petits enfants des Antilles françaises, Guyane, Haïti, La Dominique et Saint Lucie😜
We are Tom and Gerry, Ghana being Tom always looking for Nigerias (Gerrys) trouble . And Gerry is always peppering Tom. but love themselves 😜😜🤣🤣. But yes the bickering gets annoying 😅.
Btw Abidjan is beautiful
Nigeria is not in competition with other Africans. We deserve some respect for using Afrobeat to tell a different story about Africa. If you can't give us the flowers 🌹 we deserve, keep your hate to yourselves. You are one of those Africans who believe in unhealthy competition. I can smell it from your comment. Your hypocrisy won't fly!!!
What one can see here is that hard work pays. The Ivorians are working hard while their next door neighbour Ghana is hyping their country for nothing. All is clear for everyone to see here.
@@wwswewillsee9335 Fact!!!
@@wwswewillsee9335 They are the #1 French speaking economy in Africa, they should follow Rwanda’s example, promote yourself in both French English, they are very well known in the Francophone world and many Europeans visit the country.
I don't see Craziness, hustling and bustling on the streets like Lagos and Accra.
Well organized 👍👍
Hmm is true oo
Yes, I travel to Accra, because my wife is Ghanaian. I love it, but I agree this looks very calm and organised.
Because she avoided showing those areas.😂
I actually prefer the hussle an bustle, it gives everyone at every level something to do. The infrastructure needs to be able to accommodate it. As long as the infrastructure can accommodate it, it may be preferable
depend where you going this is downtown she showed
This city is amazing and has Mombasa vibes,.. much love from Kenya 🇰🇪🇰🇪🇰🇪,..
Stop fooling, don't compare your dilapidated mombasa to Abidjan. Not even Nairobi can flex with Abidjan
@@dennisbrown7930 Really, it has Mombasa vibes coz it's a coastal city, I agree Abidjan is more developed than Mombasa, but comparing it to Nairobi is just an insult to Nairobi,..
@@dennisbrown7930 okay Mr, when you flex that's enough. We don't need to flex with anyone

Amazing, until last week all I knew about Côte D'ivoire was Drogba and Mathey now I am falling in love with this country. Could you share Marcel's contact ?
This was what I wanted to see! Real life Cote D'Iviore! Some of my family is from there and my best friend is west African. I'm American and so happy to see real people enjoying themselves there. Great choice of music, but go into more places and show us some local people. Respect and love from Boston, USA!
I am Ivorian-Nigerian.
If only I can find my Ivorian father, I'd visit one day.
Contact me please
Come visit regardless ! We are your people and will welcome you well ❤️🇨🇮

I'm from Ghana but I just fell in love Abidjan!! This big city and so far I can't see any hawkers on the street, no plastic waste on the ground, no noise, well paved roads, covered drains.
You can't walk 2 metres in Accra and not see plastic waste, street hawkers causing nuisance, old trotro cars, opened gutters filled with filth especially in the central business district!!
Accra needs a complete overhaul!!
Abidjan is not so perfect. But indeed, everything you have seen exists and also its opposite. Obviously
