- The Smashing Pumpkins stopped by the Kevin & Bean Show this morning and talked about bringing the original lineup back together, the upcoming album, and announced a secret show here in LA this week!
This was nice to see - these guys, such a part of my adolescence, hanging out (OK, 'working' ;)), and having a laugh ...
These are the people that inspired me to start learning guitar and drums ... 22 years ago ... :S ... ;)

happy for Variety, o so rewatched , Jimmy does not want to talk about his past he clearly shows it with hands outstretched on the table and moving about, James, he is twisting all over . he has much to say but Can Not. when he does speak Billy/William,, crosses his arms very tightly ,which is refusal .

I always cringe hard when an interviewer asks billy about the problems he might have had with james when he happens to be right there, or talking about the state of the band now with references to those problems back during that period.obviously they are in a new state of mind, have matured and got over it. It was 20 years ago, so lets get over it.
I hear William run his mouth most of the time. It would have been nice to hear more from Jimmy and James. It was nice to hear the new guy Jack say something at the end. And Jeff didn't say anything I don't think.
25 years later nothing has changed, Billy jumps in on every question and the rest just sit there.

i don't care when it happens, but i need to meet billy with ickabod before he dies...cuz i'm going to die as a 50 year old man and been listening to him since i was 11 in 1992.....that fuckin maaaaaaan.....was my savior...and i fuckin hate the fact that i never saw him live...anthony bordain prolly killed himself over facts like that....like FUCK....really....FUCK LIFE dude, i could jump off a bridge right now, cuz when green day came to austin i was there and the security gaurds said fuck off you can't come in the pit, and i'm fuck you, do you even know who is playing right now? and they said "WE DONT" CARE" and that was just........dude, no.......you can't say that....and keep me out of the pit, anywhere there was no pit and as it happened billy joe was on the floor and said while I was tripping ballz, "fuck this shit............" in front of parents and kids........"fuck this bullshit, you hear me!!!!!!!" whoever is listening, fuck this shit!!!!!" billy siad that with his own lips on the fuckin ground. Maybe I missed it but there's nothing wrong with the question of "what's it like being an asian in a band"? It's pointing out the minority of asian band members in successful bands and it should be celebrated!

It more a sign of ignorance and curiosity not racism. Let be real seeing an Asian guitarist in sucessful band in the 90' a isn't common. Even now not super common but more people wouldn't say anything about it.
Jeff Whitlatch agreed. Majority of people use the race card immediately after someone asks a question about their race.
I didn't know there was an Asian in the band when i first heard them. Or a female bass player, until i saw their pictures later.
On the other hand, have you seen old interviews from Japan start talking to James in their own language? James is like "Sorry man, i don't speak Japanese".
Its something ive never really paid attention to is the fact james is aisan, hes just always been the guy that plays guitar in pumpkins

Maybe Billy’s ego will get out of the way one day for him to realize what the fans actually wanted… I know you’re the creative genius Billy but dude people want to see the band that they grew up with and loved… Not some pieced together version of it. they dont come together thinking what fans will feel or prefer . Its time u guys reflect on that and let go of D'Arcy not being back . She has probably more / other projects to fulfill ( never thought about that ? ) . Stop trying to investigate as to why , how , when , which sound more like a controlling way to feel with them .
