He cut her off just as she was getting to the interesting part of HER story. He hadn't seen the documentary she was featured in. What a horrible interview.
I’m not defending that behaviour but I think unfortunately he was pushed for time on the programme and needed to wrap up as is often the case on the Channel 4 news
SHITTY INTERVIEW HE JUST WANTED DIRT. LOWEST COMMON DENOMINATOR.
I thought so too very rude.
She was interviewed by a douchbag
@@oest2029
Actually he knows she has a documentary out and why would he allow her to tell her entire story that was actually brilliant on his behalf if you want to know more watch the documentary 🤷🏾♀️ I'm just saying
From the Wikipedia article about her:
"Lennear received degrees in French literature and art history from Pitzer College. She began teaching first in high school and then at Mt. San Antonio College, where she teaches French, Spanish, English and remedial math."
Sounds like a very accomplished person. She deserved a better interview.
A longer interview, definitely. It seems like the guy had to make sure he got all his talking points in.
I thought I was tripping 😮definitely deserved a better interview he was so snide from gate
He was awful. And btw, she was never in the background from my point of view. I wanted to be her!
Just when she mentioned her new musical direction the interviewer cuts it off. The gossip was covered; let's not bore anyone with actual art.
CAN HE LET HER SPEAK?????
AND EXPOSE JAGGER? OF COURSE NOT!😏
I don't think the interviewer gave her enough time to respond completely to the questions. I wanted to hear her take on the questions, but he didnt give her a chance. Crappy interviewer. But Claudia literally is a ""Class Act"
Agree. I think he had to make sure he covered his own agenda in the short amount of tine allotted. But why even bother doing the interview if you're not going to give the subject the chance to really talk?
Most people think Marsha Hunt inspired Brown Sugar not Claudia Lennear.
Actually if you read the lyrics to the entire song it becomes clear it isn't about a muse of Jagger's.
Perhaps someone needed another couple minutes in the spotlight.
Slightly surprised she does not reference the great Leon Russell who was really her mentor, and also lover of course.
Would love to read Claudia Linnear's book.... about her time with the rock 'n rollers but also, because she's so eloquent, about her transition into regular life. Ie unlike Marianne Faithfull, Anita Pallenberg and other rock star exes Claudia Linnear appears to be very grounded.
Faitfhful is a music star on her own
Her voice is incredible.
But Raps cool.. People need to grow up..
Rap is pretty cool
No, its garbage too.
Let her answer the fucking questions, dude.
I wish she could talk for hours. Her diction is perfect and she was just warming up.
When she left music she became an award winning language arts teacher in California. Helps account for her great diction I'd guess.
❤
Seriously she deserved more time and recognition as to what she is doing now. Come on!!!
Wonderful voice and wonderful woman...
She was amazing. This makes me sad to get old. I wish I could be young, energetic and beautiful forever.
you realise as you get older that you are only youthful for a very short period of your life 😪
@@orbytl2799 It goes shockingly fast. My partner is 20 years younger than me and I try to tell him not to squander it but you can never really know it until it's happening to you.
Damn david bowie AND Mick jagger wrote songs about her, how do you compete with that?
Lucky Bar Stewards !
Patti Harrison/Clapton, she has a few songs written about her.
'I don't think we could sing Brown Sugar now'...I can, doing it now in fact!
You either 1. Don't know why he wrote the song and it's ORIGINAL title or 2. You know and don't care.😒
2......
@@seliahh9451Because the people that would stop it don't care about fact either...it is sort of the point......
SHE ...... IS FANTASTIC
Love some Claudia, So intrigued by her
This interview ended as abruptly as her career... what a waste of time... what exactly was the point ???
speaks so well and accurately.
"Brown Sugar" is one of my favorite Stone's song: "I'm no schoolboy but I know what I like." That's right.oops lost my train of thought, glad to now know the woman who inspired it.
They are literally talking about raping an underage female. Mick Jagger said it. He's no school boy. Meaning he's an adult. And a he wanted a black child. You celebrate child rape.
An other version said that it was about Marsha Hunt, i suppose that Jagger wrote this song from differents sources of inspiration, as usual with him.
Just when she mentioned her new musical direction the interviewer cuts it off. The gossip was covered; let's not bore anyone with actual art.
What is it with David Bowie and Mick Jagger swapping lovers with each other?
Bowie watched Mick closely.
Bad boys
Worst interview ever
I wish she could talk for hours. Her diction is perfect and she was just warming up.
Me too she seems like a very sweet lady , I totally understand her attraction beautiful on outside and inside beautiful personality.😊
Wish I could have heard about her journey since those days. Hopefully, there's a book and a movie.
i havent seen anything so i dont know anything and i dont have anything for this interview how did you do all these things
I still sing Brown Sugar at parties, and once pubs open I will sing it there! Great rock song
And I still singing Brown Suggar every where and every time I heard it and I will never stop, seeing from Europe USA are in such great cultural confusion, don't take it bad.
Not surprised!
Racists are never expected to stop being racist
@@RDCFemmes he isn't racist, he probl. doesn't understand the lyrics. I understand why the song is sort of banned. but TBH I always saw it in the same light as "midnight Rambler" a song about a rapist and strangler. It's about , sadly, human behavior, and it's part of history. Doesn't mean you promote or agree with it. Music like from the early 50's gives you Pillow talk from Doris Day. I prefer Elvis, the Stones and so on. Before we know it ,all statues are pulled down, every good comic , and band is cancelled ,and we get the next Doris Day.
So shes the brown sugar!
"Gold Coast slave ship bound for cotton fields Sold in the market down in New Orleans Scarred old slaver knows he's doin' all right Hear him whip the women just around midnight" I don't know how this is seen as a song written for a woman . Little Richard didn't think so . But it is said it was for Marsha Hunt not Claudia Lennear, .
Exactly
The Little Richard advice is more credible.
Exactly. I wouldn't want it written about me. It is ignorant in any age. I think people listen to the iconic riff at the beginning. Lyrics are offensive.
FOREVER CLAUDIA!!!!!!! ❤♾
Claudia has been my girlfriend for 50 years. She just didn't know it.
Can someone please explain the meaning of the song with context from the lyrics? I'm just not sure what im listening to and need someone to clear it up for me
7 year's later she's got her wish
Shows you how screwed up the world is
@@pgroove163 let’s go Brandon
@@Platerpus7 100% ..👍
What kind of interview was that ?
i’ve loved the stones for over 40 years, and and this song is on my ipod, if you listen to the lyrics, i find so many black woman hot! “ i love” how come you taste so good,”but the other lyrics are about woman being whipped and black woman being treated improperly, i’m not into that! ok now i’m gonna listen to Keith Richards sing T&A
sing whatever you want folks..people don't like it don't listen.... Can you imagine telling the old blues cats that their music is offensive to somebody...😂😂
Jon Snow the perfect journalist.
😂😂😂
A list of questions to complete in 3 minutes. Not the best way to interview someone with much to say.
Whats the documentary there referring too
Jagger wrote the song about Marsha Hunt.
I believe both women claim to be the inspiration. Has Jagger ever weighed in?
You don't know that. in fact, Ike Turner threatened Jagger about hitting on his singers. Keith found out about it and pulled a knife on Ike. Jagger had his way with them from then on.
Nah its Hunt
Seeing as how the song uses the plural and he was with both around the same time, wanna know what my guess is?
Michael Jackson it's actually Oprah
That was it??? Totally skipped over what that song brown sugar is all about and how the lyrics are unethical and demeaning talking about an enslaved black woman & her master 😳 no surprise there tho fr 🙄
Seems like a very nice person. Lousy interviewer, however.
Wasn't this song written about Marsha Hunt?
Not according to Jagger himself. That was simply an assumption by other people.
I love Claudia's New England accent
Interviewing 101 - know the source material. Watch the documentary.
She sang the Beatles' "Let It Be" solo on Joe Cocker's Mad Dogs and Englishmen tour.
She was Claude Leon’s Claudia Joy Lennear; backing him up.
She has Mel A Nin On !!!
Claudia, a picture of you makes me wonder; would you happen to be Pawnee?
This interviewer has exactly the same voice as Beatles producer George Martin
Georgie Thumbs LOL, I though it was Piers Morgan.
Shes amazing hes a dolt
Old people...
brown sugar tastes so good!
Funny that people forget that Brown Suggar don't named only a black lady.
Sure you could sing it now.
Her sugar was so sweet that Mick and David were each left with a song in their heads.
Not sure what the problem is with the lyrics Brown Sugar?
No, it's HORIFFIC!! Read the lyrics...its about Black women in slavery getting raped by their masters/ slave owners.
@@misssterling3094thats what guys like thomas thistlewood did. Blues songs were about real things, like folk music. Telling stories of what had happened. 4 dead in ohio. Police killing students.
Shouldnt be told?
than you should drop ( pimping in your rap music ) I meant slaving women on the street for money and keeping them high so they don't run away and if they try to run you beat them just like a slave pimping is the same as slavery but pimping it so cool in the 90s and 2000s
Brown Sugar is a great song and I dont see a problem with it 👌
No, it's HORIFFIC!! Read the lyrics...its about Black women in slavery getting raped by their masters/ slave owners.
@@misssterling3094bro you said the same thing twice and you should see the songs that are made today lol
@@misssterling3094 its about pasolini 100 days of salo, so to say. It tells a story of horror.
LEON RUSSELL!
What a pathetic interview. Claudia Lennear had an amazing life. I was just watching The Concert for Bangla Desh and noticed her there.
It’s a great song. Written about her.
Why don't they get rid of the movie "white chicks". A movie where the Wayan brothers who are black, dress up with make up to be white face and portray white girls and degrade & humiliate then for both their gender, race , & culture.
Not it wasn't. He had an affair with a black model and had a biracial baby that he denied. The lyrics are horrific.
@@mimirahim4028 Her name was/is Marsha Hunt.
Accurate historical accounts need to be cancelled 😠
Thats how guys like Thomas thistlewood in jamaica behaved.
Worst interview ever
The premise of this piece is absurd. They do not deserve more reward than they got. They deserve exactly what they got. They are not stars. They tried to be and came up short. Tina Turner was a star. Mick was a star. Bowie was a star and they got more because they earned it.
Beautiful lady. Wow, she had famous men.
He constantly cuts her off. UK
Apparently she doesn’t understand the song!
The Stones will not be playing this song anymore because of its slavery, rape etc connations, I personally liked the song. UK
Yet an African American woman hearing it for the first time, DID NOT get offended at it -- ruclips.net/video/LKHOPrMZxJ0/видео.html
And thank you for the most worthless interview.
Love some Claudia, So intrigued by her
Why Hasn't a movie been made about CLAUDIA LENNEAR? Wow! She dated both JAGGER & BOWIE!! Nuff said!!😄
Please stop. After decades the song is a problem. Stop. This is America!!! Freedom of speech!! If you don't like the words. Don't listen to it. There are many millions of people around the world that love this song, Im one of them. It's probably one of the stones best songs it has great energy and sound. It's an awesome song.
The lyrics "Gold Coast slave ship bound for cotton fields
Sold in a market down in New Orleans
Scarred old slaver, know he's doing alright
Hear him whip the women just around midnight"
Only a savage could love lyrics about whipping and raping a black woman or any woman for that matter.
She looks like a Romulan
Fire the incompetent interviewer.
Sing it anyway! Screw the snowflakes; this is life!
Nothing wrong with that song
and nothin wrong with the people that days...racism is just a media story.
He wins this year's bad host award.
Sorry that the only thing you got out of the song is a sentence. The whole thing is a fabulous rock song.
Greats lyrics and not racist like so much people stupidly say.
@@Methilde It's not racist and no-one says its racist except these insane Woke Liberals who try and push their bizarre racial hang ups onto everyone else

Bad interview. Didn't ask good questions.
If Martin Luther King and all them people was around today I think they will want to go back to their grades because if they seen how the Races they would be a shame to all of y'all
That is because we are regressing as a society, just sayin'🤔
Why
The interviewer is right weirdo!! Weird questions! And then answered them for her! Horrible man
Brown Sugar is about Brown Tar Opium not about her. Brown Sugar tastes so good! Get it? It’s about smoking Opium.
Dunderheads.
No, you're wrong. Read the lyrics towards end of the song.
"Brown sugar, how come you taste so good, babe?
Ah, brown sugar, just like a young girl should, yeah"
@@samihamid89 Lyrics are free to interpretation.
"I don't think we could sing Brown Sugar now" >> which is the very reason if someone did a re-make, it'd sell millions. It's the perfect (now) politically incorrect song for the politically correct delusion we live in today.
If you listen to the interview, she never actually said that. It was the racist white liberal interviewer trying to put those words in her mouth
He failed, but channel 4 just went ahead and put those words in her mouth anyway by using the fake quote that she never said as the video title
Woke Racists, eh?

Good definition for the Stones.
They need to keep a tight rein on this interview in case the woke narrative gets interrupted.

Hmmm, The meaning of brown sugar is a very disgusting song , Even thomas jefferson was no stranger to having bed winches 😕
True, but then again, we are no longer allowed to sing 'Onward Christian Soldiers' and 'When the Saints go Marching in,' so who is surprised??
