      I have 12kw of solar panels and a 12kw battery and still they came at me with a $400 bill. $30,000 to install the system and I'm still paying for electricity.

      Disconnect from the grid altogether, but they won’t allow you to do that.

    If the government really wanted to help struggling Australians it would cut immigration to under 50,000 per year. This budget does stuff all......

      How is that going to make a difference? Australia is crying out for skilled workers, which immigrants can supply.

      @@deathbycheese850 meaningful education can also supply skilled workers. i remember the days when if you were unemployed, you had the option to obtain low-cost or free training, instead of picking up rubbish on the highway - putting others out of work.

    The 300 dollars is just a a false narrative. They should be reducing the cost of energy, the cost of food, the cost of fuel, the cost of housing, the cost of education etc… Andrew Charlton has no idea just like Canberra has no idea about regional cost of living and no reception for data or phones. That money could have been better spent on the community for other supposed projects. Could we please have an audit or review about this budget which seems to be a cash splash for jobs for the boys, as per usual. Just saying for a friend. 🙏

      This is genuinely the most scattershot complaint. We don't complain about other subsidies rich people get. Yet now the gov is giving a concession to everyone the response is "WHY ARE YOU GIVING HANDOUTS TO BILLIONAIRES". This country is genuinely doomed if this is the calibre of criticism a democracy delivers.

    should means test the $300 power credit and put the funds left. over from people to well off could of gone into building more homes to bridge the gap in the housing shortage HOW DUMB

    In double sided accounting system if you have government surplus on the left you need to have a deficit on the right... guess who's on the right side - Australian people and businesses ... This is not an opinion but a fact !! Government surplus always takes money out of the society.
    Government budgets MUST be outcome oriented and not surplus oriented !!

    They need to give the most at risk CAREER'S on the career's pension and people who have a mortgage so they don't lose their homes and the homeless the energy rebates should have been means tested so career's get the pay rise that has already been approved for the lowest payed worker's

    the cost of living will be "under control" when the cost of living returns to what it was trending towards pre-2019.
    my electricity bill and rent has already gone up this year, not to mention food, when albo brings those prices back to what they were then it will be "under control". not before. dont forget - labour overspending and nation-wide lockdowns during covid is the reason we are in this mess now

    This budget is just delaying continued inflation. This hand out is not free, it's from the Government (tax payers) credit card. Australians will pay for it later with more cost of living hardships.

    rich still getting richer, government paying for power which they own most of anyway, and if they don't they are supporting very high eletricity cost from private companies, in one pocket and out of another. Same with rent, government paying for greedy home owners, why why why

      Even with Labor in power, those on 45% tax rate still get $4,500pa instead of LNP promised $9,000. But the wealthier still get more and the gap between them and the less well off widens every time.

    Number 1 Priority is to Ease the Cost of Living, which is why we are Lowering the Tax Free Threshold by $1000 after 2 years of record inflation.
    But don't worry, Millionaires also get a $300 Energy rebate.
