The bass player wrote most of their lyrics, he saw the world quite different than most people. He once said most of his songs came to him in his dreams. ✌️
Dreams = high
You can never go wrong with Black Sabbath.
Forbidden begs to differ
@@FuckRUclipsAndGoogle some of Forbidden is alright
Never!
First 6 albums anyhow.
@@dizubstylee7993 I’d go further and say first 10 albums don’t really put a foot wrong. Not many bands do that many good albums in a row, besides maybe Beatles, Pink Floyd and David Bowie
One of their best. The definition of heavy metal.
Their first 6 albums had no flaws and no bad songs
"You Can Only Trust Yourself And The First Six Black Sabbath Albums" - favourite T-shirt.
Yeah Sabbath is notorious for taking their music in new and unexpected directions. Not just song to song but within the songs and it all sounds dope.
They are the strongest drug on plane Earth!
Yep, Planet Caravan..
@@vicprovost2561 ah i see what you did there ;) (since their name before black sabbath was named earth)
That classical/ jazz style outro is my favorite Sabbath anything... It's so rich and full of sound it rings....
Q: Tony, how many riffs will you use in this song?
A: Yes.
Gotta give it up to Billy Ward, who was absolutely crushing that snare drum. Crisp. Clean. Tight.
With Bill, you would think his drum kit owed him lots of money!
Aka Billy the Basher! I
Geezer Butler is a GOD! I’ve had the pleasure of seeing him live, awestruck at that man’s talent
"That was one of those ones right there". Yeah man, dig it.
That last break surprise surprise surprise imagine how I felt the first time hearing that 1975 stoned listening to it on my Pioneer 100 watt per Channel🔊🎶
Pioneer with Craig Quadraphonic Car Speakers? First time both hearing and high at 15 - entire cassette tape was dope!
The power is never enough to listen symptom.....🤘
“ All I have to give you is a love that never dies, the symptom of the universe is written in your eyes.”
BARZ!!!!!
Bill Ward slays AGAIN!!!!!
Bill is the GOAT...
Bill is incredible on this track
The Foundation for all that followed.
Lol “I was in over my head, I was drowning”! That finish is so good!
Yea I was lost for a minute there. Lol
That last groove is amazing!!
no limits when it came to the original Black Sabbath!
somehow they always find the groove...............Ozzy's voice was/is spectacular
I agree ☝🏾
IS THAT OZZY ?????????
Hell yeah !!!!!!!!!!
As good as it gets. Rockin this song since it came out in ‘75.
Had a brutal metal bar in the early 90s, it had a cd jute box that had a sound system like an arena, put this tune on and the place went ape and many asked..
Who is this????
As the old(er)guy, I was glad to share the music of my early youth
That ending needs to be its own song man. Nice vibe.
Those Ozzy Sabbath albums rarely missed. Amazing ability to bring the sauce.
This song is a "true" epiphany. It shocked me the first time I heard it, in my 60s. I was told not to listen to Ozzy as a teen and that continued, more or less, till a few years ago when I started to watch reaction videos. It's amazing to watch you guys respond to this music. So amazing, isn't it? Thank you!!
I liked the comment about Ozzy being so soulful.
Black Sabbath is one of the groups that pioneered Heavy Metal and really inspired Heavy Metal groups of the 90's like Sound Garden and Alice In Chains!!! Really Excellent Band!!!!
Only Ozzy could sing about love and make it sound evil. 🤘🏻🤘🏻 Love Sabbath
Because it is and Ozzy is true
Tony Iommi is a creative genius.
I Always enjoy watching the new "Youts" of the world discovering the great "Best" music of the 1960s & 70s that us Old Baaastards grew up with !!! 😆🎶🎼👍
From my fav BS album “Sabotage”. Banger.
My favourite BS song. The riff is monstrous, Bill Ward plays like a madman, the lyrics are demented, and Ozzy sings like he just took every drug he could lay his hands on (which he probably did).
My fave Black Sabbath song...LOL...."Sweet Leaf"...I was a senior in HS
I dig your reactions to Black Sabbath. I recommend the song "A National Acrobat" from the Sabbath Bloody Sabbath album.
Hi Guys ... I was fortunate enough to see the original Black Sabbath in the 70s at MSG . The first time the warm up band was Aerosmith , then Ted Nugent & last but not least the original Van Halen. Talk about great shows !!! But B.S. always shine the brightest. They are truly the Father of heavy metal with soul .
The birth of thrash metal, right here
my ultimate fav Sabbath song and that's saying a lot
From my personal favorite Sabbath album, Sabotage. Quite an experiment
More SABBATH...
-Planet Caravan (mellow jam with same Bossa Nova vibe as the end of this Symptom)
-Hand of Doom
-Orchid/Lord of This World
Tomorrow's Dream, Children of the Grave & Into the Void. Keep up the good work.
If u guys love lyrics, try After Forever & Lord of this World by Black Sabbath
If you love lyrics try them all! But those are two great places to start since you got to start somewhere.
Those chords never lie!
“megalomania” track from this album even better
More Sabbath!! Fairies Wear Boots, Into the Void, the Wizard
Listened to this album driving in the dark through tornados in the south. Perfect music.
ozzy's vocals on the end are so good
Love your Black Sabbath reactions! 🤘🏻
Great pick. Another banger from a couple of albums earlier (Vol. 4) is Supernaut.
Black Sabbath is why I'm alive
That outro groove reminds me of a song called From the beginning by Emerson, Lake & Palmer .. such a dope track
Tony the guitarist chopped off the tips of his fingers in a metal shop accident...as a result uses VERY light strings and tunes WAY down to get that DOOM sound...to this day he wears thimbles on his fingers making it possible for him to play. Tony became a HUGE fan of Django Reinhardt and emulated his style, who he learned was able to play with only TWO fingers after being injured in a fire...
Early Sabbath started it all in what is called metal. We didn't call it heavy metal in the 70's. We called if effing kick ass music. After Forever lyrically exposes Sabbath as God fearing believers.
It's a thing of beauty.
Sick ass drum fills from the amazing Bill Ward. He really did set it up for thrash/death/black metal style.
For something different and ethereal, I highly recommend Black Sabbath's Planet Caravan! Also, they have some beautiful instrumental tracks like Laguna Sunrise and Fluff! Lovin' what y'all do!
That’s one bad ass transition into the slow funky groove too!
Black Sabbath mighty good !
Great reaction guys! Black Sabbath was not a band I was into in my teens. I liked Purple but loved Zeppelin. I just didn’t consider Sabbath or Purple on the same level as Zeppelin. I was wrong. I listen to Deep Purple the most now but still, the older I get the more I listen to Sabbath, Purple & Uriah Heep than Zeppelin. Geezer Butler and Bill Ward we’re bad asses!
Definitely hits harder when the second verse come in. They always switch it up on you. Just when you think you know what’s happening. Also I know what u mean. Even when the notes are high they sound low cause they sound ‘dark’ or more on the lower frequencies which I feel is part of their whole vibe. Thank y’all for doing this.
You cats kill it every damn time!!!!
I love your pic, I have birds, too!
Sabotage was a great album, Symptom's a great track. Ozzy's voice was very powerful on Sabotage, and he would sing higher than his natural range. My friends and I called it banshee mode way back when. Killer drum fills throughout from Bill. Tony was creeping more towards shredding, faster and more notes in his solos. You guys are super busy, but I would suggest listening to Symptom w/ the Don't Stop Too late 50 second intro song, like it was on Sabotage. Gives the full Sabbath experience better. Thanks again.
First one on here. Can’t wait to finish this video!! You guys do a good job!!! Keep it up
Other black sabbath songs:
- Sweet leaf
- Into the void
- Snowblind
- Supernaut
Such a great song
They heard a single bass note over all the drums. One went nutted on the other!
The original metal band.
Could be their best album. Next, Vol.4
Seeing them do this song in concert was ....well, l have NO words for it, but l remember it like it yesterday, of course I saw them do this several times. Loved going to concerts back in the 70's 🤟🥰
fucking love this song...
Go back to the Paranoid album with Fairies Wear Boots, or check out Ozzy's work on the Harmonica with a song off the debut album, Black Sabbath, song called The Wizard.
The acoustic section at the end was in the Cuban Rumba-beat style. Very jazzy...
Do the entire album, go ahead I dare you, I triple dog dare you guys
This band is so underrated. They sit right next to Zeppelin on that list. Just as important, just as creative, just as talented. And a hundred times heavier.
Black Sabbath is Heavy metal! Never underrated .Zeppelin isn't metal, great band!
How the hell are they underrated? Do you actually know what the word underrated means?
@@bigdave1302 Show me a couple of lists that rate Sabbath higher than Zeppelin. While you're looking, pay attention to how many rate Zeppelin higher. For instance Rolling Stone has Sabbath at 85 and LZ at 14 for all time artists.
Sorry Zepplin ain't even close. Sabbath is not just heavier, but more varied, more original, and much deeper lyrics.
💯
heavy metal was born on February 11th 1970 with the release of black sabbath self titled first album....without them there's no judas priest, iron maiden, metallica they are heavy metal personified
Absolutely LOVE this song (and album, Sabotage) - this and the previous album Sabbath Bloody Sabbath is where the band started to experiment more. They still had some great driving metal grooves, but they dabbled in different instrumentation & styles. Symptom was a perfect example. Couple other great tracks from this are Hole In The Sky, Megalomania & The Writ. From the other album mentioned, HIGHLY suggest: Sabra Cadabra, National Acrobat, Spiral Architect & the title track (Sabbath Bloody Sabbath).
If you want something really different in their catalogue, there's a track called Solitude, from their 3rd album, Master Of Reality, that will truly redefine your outlook of Ozzy's voice!
"My favorite woke rock band...' That, and other quirky observations, make you two a joy to watch. Your perspectives and insights are a constant delight to this old prog rock fan. Your friendship comes out in the things you don't say -- or the volumes you can speak with only a few phrases. You make for excellent company.
This is a fantastic track. Try Children of the grave next ! xx
You guys should check out a couple more from Master of Reality album: “Sweet Leaf” and “Children of the Grave” one is an ode to the ganja, the other was covered by White Zombie in the 90s and is super heavy groove.
You MUST check out Spirit's Twelve Dreams of Dr. Sardonicus album. Trust me. Try Tracks: Mr. Skin, Morning Will Come, Prelude/Nothing to Hide. (The 1970 album is a rock opera by guitarist/vocalist Randy California, and should be a mandatory part of your journey).
EVERYYYYBODDYYYYYY FREAKS ON THAT TRANSITION CHANGE YOU GUYS 💯, DON'T FEEL BAD! 😊 FROM THEIR ALBUM ( SABOTAGE )
MORE FROM THIS ALBUM ( SABOTAGE ) GUYS 😊 MEGALOMANIA, AM I GOING INSANE, HOLE IN THE SKY 😊
Loving ur guy's reactions, so insightful and knowledgeable, very refreshing. The universe of rock/metal is vast, one of its great homages is the covering of old songs. I'd like to see u react to Symptom of the Universe, covered by the band, Seplatura. I'm happy to see u both enjoying ur journey through these classics, and hope u find the covers to be just as awesome.
Support from way up here in Canada 🇨🇦 👍
The Fathers Of METAL.
My favorite Black Sabbath album. Another great one you should check out is Born Again.
This invented metal
No kidding, you guys are the best, one freaking classic after another! This is off their 6th album, Sabotage, their first 6 albums are as good a run of music as anyone, the band you could argue had a better 6 album start is Led Zeppelin, but even that is debatable. Pick a song, any song off any of these albums and enjoy, BUT what you really need to hear is from their first album, the side 2 jam is face melting, do the Sleeping Village intro into Warning. You will not be the same musically after you listen to it for the first time, it sure freaked us out and all everyone was talking about in my high school class at the time we bought it, shortly after its release. Man, Sabbath just left a massive wake in music history and always will be listened to. Enjoy! 🎵🎸🎤🎹🎶
Hey guys Sabbath is AWESOME.Glad your diggin them. Your next song,. Planet Caravan is a MUST!!!
Best band of all time!
All instruments and vocals vibe. And then there are the lyrics.
Glad you guys listen. Other guys talked the whole time. That's why I subscribed to you.
Everything is heavy, great comment, Dam right thats Ozzy ! That man is great !
Tommy had a lot of great riffs and arrangements. He sets it all up. Almost like everything else writes itself off those riffs from Ozzy's tempo and intensity to Ward's thumping skins and Geezer's thumping bass. It all defines "LEAD GUITAR".
Tony.
Great reaction guys..This is my favorite 70's metal..Thx for this one guys!! shout out from the old metal head from Detroit..Peace and love!!
Oh sweet Sabbath!
The biggest change up ever guys. This is greatness personified!
Love it. Keep on keepin' on.
What a track
Megalomania and The Writ-must listens on this album.
That Sabbath song Baptised ppl!
Love this song. The changes are so cool. Ozzy does sound a bit like Robert Plant at the end lol.
Hardest 70s metal song, and then they switch it as much as you possibly can.
The Metal was born!
Great reaction thank you.
Although not my favorite Sabbath album, I do think Sabotage was the pinnacle of Ozzy's vocal abillities..
Outstanding............
Smoke a fat one and jam with some Sabbath. Nothing better 😌
