I can try to make a video of that. Just keep in mind that every shooting is different depending if you are an extra, actor (with few lines), actor (many lines) or a model.
Hi, I’m thinking about trying out acting in Japan. I can speak Japanese and I am fluent in daily conversation. I’d like to go next year (after finishing my bachelor’s degree) and I’d like to ask you, how can I start preparing now. Obviously getting into my best shape is a no brainer, but how about the financial side. How much money should I prepare before going? How much do you pay your agencies? If I want to do acting as my main job, should I still get a part time job? Thank you so much.
Hey, thanks for your question. It depends if you wanna do just purely acting (TV shows / movies) or a mix of acting/modeling but more for commercials and brands. If you wanna to be an actress, I would recommend having a couple photos with different styles and a demo reel. Then, you can contact them. But to be honest, this path is quite difficult if you only want to live from solely acting in Japan. I would recommend first going through freelance agencies and you can build up your experience, photos and videos (demo reel) there. Also, gigs like TV commercials, photoshoot for brands pay more than roles on TV shows and movies except if you are already famous. Plus, if you speak Japanese at a high level then its gonna be easier to communicate and you will have more opportunities. I would say to have a head start: Take as many pictures as possible with different styles (good quality pictures, no need to be professional but better if they are). Try to register with as many agencies as you can. Like this you will increase your chances at getting jobs offer. Be available as much you can as acting/modeling jobs are always decided at the last moment most of the time. Registering to most agencies is free. I think only 2 agencies ask you to pay a one-time fee, but its like $3-5 top. When you start, yes, I would recommend to get a part-time (2-3 days) to get some income in case you don't get many offers especially when you just start. They are plenty of English teaching jobs for example that don't require any teaching experience and are quite flexible schedule wise. Cheers!
I have a question, there was a ad on tiktok and they were looking for an Applicant. So I applied there, and i got accepted, they sended me an email that i got accepted they told me the place but didnt tell me the time, should i call then for the time? Salut Adrian, Thanks for the comment! Unfortunately, you cannot apply for a modeling agency with a visitor visa. You need a proper a visa which allows you stay to work in Japan.
Hello Camilla, I registered to multiple freelance agencies. In each agency, they have assigned agents to send you offers, translate for you and come with you for auditions/shootings.
Hey! Thanks for the comment :) If you want to become a model in Japan, you need to have a valid visa in Japan in order to apply. Otherwise, modeling agencies won't be accepting your registration.

Can a foreigner get a chance in movie in japan or they only take them for commercial adds
Yes, foreigners can also act in movies in Japan. However, they won't get the leading role very often.
Would you recommend signing up for an agency in your own country first or start looking in Japan right away?
Hey!
I would say it depends on your goals. If you wish to work in Japan then I would recommend to start looking in Tokyo right away.
Can i ask if there's any fee? When taking a 1st audition or after you passed the audtion?
Hey man,
No worries, there is no fee to pay.
Hey! Thank you for the information! Can did you get your agent?

Yes, you need a visa to work in Japan, but not all visa allow you to work as a model. Also most visa need to be renewed every year or 3 years.
