- On my regular route to work (& 2 days after getting my new helmet cam), I passed this minicab driver, with a fare in the back, who driving down a foot & cycle path. When I asked him if he realised what he was up to he said "Yes" and he still carried on - I decided to post it here... (In 10 years I've never seen anyone else in a car on this path)
PS sorry video is slanted, I've only just got my Tachyon OPS HD camera and not fully fixed the mounting to my helemet
Filmed in Richmond Park, UK - Авто/Мото
Since becoming a regular cycle commuter I am subbing to more and more of these cycle vids. Peace and safe riding.
Thank you for posting this film. I am shocked at some of the messages, obviously drivers who would, do drivebon walking path ways, ect. It is a walking pathway. There are plenty of provisions for cars, disabled in Richmond Park, I know, I live right next to it, go there all the time. I am disabled but I walk all around this park. It is a nature reserve, a park, for families, elderly, disabled, deers, rabbits, foxes. Not Cars. Car drivers might think they own the world but hey, they do not and cannot do just as they please. The laws in England are made to be upheld. So walking people do not get killed or maimed.
You know, of all the videos ive seen with English cab drivers, this guy seems to be the most level headed of the bunch. Yeah, he might be in the wrong, but at least he wasn't doing 65 MPH and trying to swerve into everyone. To his credit, he was behaving in a sensible manner both to the cyclist, and in his driving behavior for the path that he was on.
I should explain, he passed the entrance to the disabled car park at the second No Entry sign. I did give him the benefit of the doubt up to that point as disabled badged cars are allowed on the first section of the path and I agree he could have been taking a disabled passanger to that car park.
However no vehicles are allowed on the second section and this is oftern busy with walkers, children and cyclists - which is where I spoke to him.
Just seen your message. Great Concorde videos by the way. Thank you. As far as the piece of crap driving along a foot path, well, can you expect anything else from them? And as far as arushandapushand's comment, I bet if a REAL taxi had have been there instead ( which wouldn't have been anyway) this lovely person 'arushandapushand' wouldn't have been so kind in his remarks, worrying about the customer. This is something I would stake a reputation on, thank you.

Nice one Cycleman! Roadsafe the vehicle, and report it to the Royal Parks Authority?
@TheMisterVillage Didnt read the screen did you? The driver goes past the disable part and onto a cycle/foot path.
He is clearly not botherd about any laws, rules. Very selfish. Bad enough we have cars in Richmond Park, they should stick to the rds provided. If a woman 2anted to get to 1 of the lakes in Rivhmond Park why didn't she walk? It's beautiful.
Whats the sense of it ?? Why no advertisement ??
is that phil colins?
@CyclingMikey Mikey, I got fed up and used the "you drivers" (and listed all the bad elements) to a friend(usually a balanced view on the road) who went on about cyclists, he shut up. I recommend it. Fight fire with fire (or an inferno!)!
@MelloVEL0 :D Love it!
@DendriticWolf haha thats cos he was in the middle of a park on a footpath lol!
@TheMisterVillage So you'd drive over a pedestrian pavement to get a disabled person to their destination? Right. Even then, it's illegal.
Where are the park police when you need them.
2019 Anyone?
roadsafe?
@TheMisterVillage Calm down dear!!
Looking for a dogging car park
Driving a newer Mercedes and pleading ignorance
@TheMisterVillage Eh? With the amount of fucking bleating you get about "dangerous" pavement cyclists from everyone else I think he's fully entitled to complain about this waste of space. Maybe if he's going to be trusted to ferry members of the public around a basic understanding of road signs and navigation/map reading would be useful? The key part here is FOOTPATH, noticed how it's not a road?
