Yes!! I studied horticulture and found out that apparently eucalyptus was originally brought to America in the 1800s to be grown for the logging industry. The person that brought them saw them growing very straight and strong in Australia only to find out they don’t grow the same way in America because of the difference in hemispheres. They are also allelopathic! Very interesting plant!

I’m in my mid 30s and recently learned that I’m autistic; I think the reason I’ve loved Rajiv’s videos so much is because of the fine attention to detail. My brain doesn’t filter out things; I think in pictures and everything in my visual environment enters in with high detail. My husband and I live in a 1946 cottage in the mountains and it was a horrible mess when we bought it. The main bathroom was unuseable, so we remodeled the little 3/4 bath first while saving to do the main bathroom. We decided to put in a large claw foot tub instead of a shower when we finally remodeled it. I have fibromyalgia and my doctor was always recommending epsom salt baths. I have always been a shower person, but I decided to switch to baths to see if it helped me and I cannot say enough about having a bath. I too take my laptop in and watch a movie or show while soaking in the tub. I am also a soapmaker, so I make my own solid bubble bath bars, bath bombs and goat milk soaps. My pain goes way down after soaking in a hot epsom salt bath and my skin is so much softer from my bubble bars. I also now take the time to properly moisturize my skin after I get out of the bath. Yes, it takes me longer than showering, but I am 66 years old and have worked hard all my life and raised 4 daughters so I feel I can now spare an hour to care for myself. Had I been taking better care of myself all along, perhaps I wouldn't be in the shape I am in now. Ladies, make your hubbies watch those babies so you can take an hour to yourself. It will raise your spirits immensely and everyone will benefit as a result.

Mom's are never off the clock so they need some extra time and TLC! The kids will survive for an hour without you. LOL!!! Best of luck to you and your lovely family!

I appreciate any towel without that (Dobby / dobbin?) decorative strip across either end of the towel a few inches in from the end that always react differently to washing and drying than the rest of the towel. They always shrink more than the towel and ruin its look after one wash. I search towels that do not have that and I love them. The official “weight” of the cotton is important too the absorbency too. Get the heaviest you can.

    • @kaioiamo1503

When I have to get rid of a towel because of that shrinking my husband says my type A is kicking in! I can’t take it. When I fold, it bothers me and I have a particular way I like the towels folded. Maybe he’s right! 😂

@@kaioiamo1503 Exactly! I can’t stand it either. Why manufacture something that will immediately be less nice the very first time you wash it? I don’t get it. At least preshrink that dobby part. There are some towels where that part doesn’t shrink, so it’s being done sometimes, but you have no way of knowing before you spend the money. Irritating.

Gaudy plastic shampoo bottles, neon toothbrushes, etc… I do my best to get rid of all of it, sometimes you can remove the stick on label and just have a lovely plain bottle and I found a beautiful crystal clear toothbrush on Amazon! Aaahhhhh…
It’s tempting to put a bunch of colorful “fun” things in the bathroom but if I stay disciplined and just stick to minimalism and neutrals, bathing becomes exquisite in a spa like atmosphere.

Whe you have a live-in partner, his teenage daughter, elderly family needing daycare, preschool nephew, and a lovely but shedding dog.... not everything can stay clutterfree and like a painting, but you do learn to see the beauty in their effects on the space and knowing you share it together as a home. That includes the hair left in the tub.
Some stuff stays out... but I do save brown bottles so they match and I put simple labels on them . For older individuals they have a caddy I can put away or set out with oversized labels.
A big part of having my alone time is making my now 5 yo nephew's alone time special too.
He gets curled up in his pillow corner with a favorite show, his stuffies, and some chocolate milk when I take my shower or bath. When he has his bath, it is bubbles, rotating toys to keep it new, and his favorite Raffi music, and I leave him alone for half of it while folding laundry in the next room. He learns together is great, but so is alone.

Anyway, that's what I just switched to, and fiddled a bit to get it just right -- works so much better and looks better too. The knot doesn't slip, and lays really nicely! I just ordered better laundry detergent and booster to bring my white towels back to bright. I curate my shower stall with matching soap dishes in white and white marble and the lotions are in containers that colour match in a clear pastel colour nothing in a murky colour, l only use white towels, hand towels etc…which allows for a neutral background , my cotton buds and face wipes are in clear glass containers on the sink area , everything else is out of sight. This works great for me as l am a renter and have had to adapt to different bathrooms. It always looks put together and is easy to keep clean and tidy.

Hi Rajiv, I knew of the idea of eucaliptatas (I know, I didn't spell it correctly) in the shower. I tried it and although it looked good, I couldn't smell it. Now you have shown me that I need to bash it to release the fragrance. I live in Australia so it won't be difficult to find said leaves and it looks so pretty. Thank you Rajiv, you always inspire me.

The way I keep my cotton towels and sheets white: I pre soak in hot water and add 1 cup of ammonia and 1 cup borax powder, then add my detergent when it starts to wash. I never use fabric softener, and I haven't had to replace towels or sheets in 4 years. *weekly wash. Grandmother born in 1920's (RIP) housekeeping tip. Works wonders!

All my sheets are from Brooklinen. I absolutely love them. Now I need to invest in some of these luxurious towels. When I travel, I like to stay in Bed and Breakfast Inns for the luxury of a relaxing bath in a Jacuzzi tub, and I often take a book to read as I relax. I must get some eucalyptus to hang in my shower. Thanks, Rajiv for the calming comforts you show on your channel.

Thanks for watching. I really love how Brooklinen cares about the product, right down to the source of the fiber.
