- Reviewing The NEW Tecnifibre TF-X1 (V2)
I’m back in Monaco for the Monte Carlo Masters, testing the brand new Tecnifibre TF-X1 V2. This racket has a great blend of power and comfort and I share my thoughts on the 300 and 305 versions.
I was fortunate enough to be testing them with former ATP 202, Laurent Rochette. We even played a tiebreak which I’ll show you in my next video!
Let me know if you have any questions about the frames or if you have any suggestions for future reviews.

Thank you for this amazing review Ashley ! Have bought it right now thanks to you 👌
Nice new racket !
You talked about adding weight for the 305 to make it feel better. On which positions would you test the extra weight?
Cool !
I currently play with the tecnifibre 300 RS. However I find the sweetspot a bit too small. Would you recommend the TF-X1 300 or a 295 RS ?
Do you think i should go for the 285 or the 300 on this one? I currently play with the Wilson Blade 102 SW 305 and i find it a bit heavy.
I love my Wilson Profile 95 the stiffest Racquet I can find. 13oz and 350 grams. Try the Wilson Profiles 95 and tell me what you think my friend. Great job on the video my friend.
Ashley - looks like you're striking the ball better then the pro - great work!
Thanks! Hitting up and down the middle is one thing… wait till you see us compete 😅
The pro's leg was broken. There's another video where they play a tie break.
Hi, what string would you recommend for the v1 version of this racket?
Bring down those shadows a little bit more on the color grade, Ash 😉 great content!
Thanks Jose, still learning 😁
Is 305 gr 98 headsize version Tempo 298 Iga's mold? When you said it's powerful and stiff this racket popped up in my mind immeadiately
No, I tested that last year and didn’t enjoy it as much as the others… this one feels really good. Nice combo of power, spin and comfort
You have quite a unique forehand. Reminds me of Richard Gasquet
Thanks!
Is the grip shape quite rectangular like old Head racquets or have they updated to something more square?
I’d say it feels like it’s in between… not as rectangular as the old head grips but not as square as the new ones
Unrelated-I know, but can I ask what duffle bag you’d recommend, not for racquets, but for training aids and equipment? It doesn’t need to be massive, but I’d like it to fit a 55cm wide agility ladder. If you don’t use or don’t know of any that’s completely fine, just thought I would ask. Thanks!
Hey man could you test Pacific X FAST Pro?
What string and tension were you guys using here?
great play. do you think I should purchase the 285g or the 300g of this racket? I've been playing for 4 years with natural powerful play.
What do you currently play with (and weight)?
My weight is 310g unstrung, no dampner and I'm about to put an overgrip on it. It's a bit heavy but it does the Job but sometimes I think maybe a bit too heavy as I hit out sometimes. The racket I'm using now is a prince vortex 310g
@@TheTennisMentor what do you think mate?
I have the Yonex VCore 98 and it is the worst racket I ever used!
I'll try the TX X1 (300) next
I am a beginner tennis player and at the moment i play with a Wilson Blade 275g. I want to get a new Racket which is a bit heavier. Now i am consider if i get the T-Fight 295g or the TF-X1 v2 300g. Which one do you think fits best ?
Theres a lot that goes into choosing the right racket but what I would say is that the TF-X1 is very forgiving, a bit easier to play with than the TFight range.
hey Ashley after watching the monte Carlo who do you think will win the French open?
It’s very open this year. I’m going to call a long shot… Casper Ruud.
How does the sound of the 300? Thank u!
Would like to give the 300g a try. Not many people stock this brand. Where do we go to try it?
You can try mine next time you’re in sunny Hampshire!! 😁
@@TheTennisMentor Magic. THANKS
How would you say this is for someone use to hitting pure drives in his 50's @3.5 lvl?
what racket do you prefer between this one and the pure aero 100 300 g 2023 ?
I hit with the aero for only 5 mins early last year so can’t compare I’m afraid… I’ll try to test one soon, if I do I’ll let you know
What version is better ? The v1 (2021) or this new one. Thx in advance mate !
The new one is definitely more comfortable
@@TheTennisMentorPeople say it’s the identical racket between v1 and v2, I’m looking forward to get one but now I’m confused😢
Would you ever consider switching from your Speed?
We Canadians don't have access to Technifibre racquets...
Always wanted to try them out!

It’s never easy to change rackets, especially after 10 years using the same line. Nowadays (as I don’t compete as much) I love testing different frames.
When I’m coaching I’ll switch between rackets from day to day (not advised) just for fun. But if I have a match, I tend to go back to my trusty speed. You will see me play a tiebreak with the TFX1 in next week’s video!
Ps. I really want to test out Sinner’s specs so will see what I can do!
Menurut anda, rekomendasi TF X1 V2 atau Babolat Pure Aero?
TF X1
Thanks for the review. The 98 clearly looks unstable and the 100 is not as whippy. Shame cause I think I would have liked to have tried the 98 but there's clearly a design flaw within the hoop which is making it so unstable. Yes weight could help but that would just make it less manoeuvrable and perhaps too heavy anyway after all the necessary customisation. Will pass on this one.
I’ve said to others before, it’s always worth a demo, as what I feel and what someone that plays differently to me feels are often different! I’d say I really enjoyed hitting with the 305 and didn’t notice a lack of stability until I picked up the 300 which felt nicer to me!
@@TheTennisMentor Feel is very subjective but I was referring to the imagery and from what I could see, the 305 was clearly twisting at impact. As you mentioned, the 300 has a bigger head so physically a bit more stable. Same is true for example in the Wilson Clash 98 vs the 100. Thanks for the review.
Take a shot every time he says “racquet”
😂🥴
Love the channel and Ashley is great but I turn off when I see a racquet review from him as he's not willing to be critical.
Thanks for the feedback! For me it’s about explaining what I like and don’t link about the racket and giving you information about who the racket is suited to. I haven’t tested a racket that is BAD for everyone yet… some haven’t suited my game but would suit others really well.
I think that I have a pretty good feel for how a racket will perform for others that play differently to me, and so can share an open minded review rather than saying that my favourite racket is the one that everyone should use!
I’m not sure that you watched all of this video as I explain which one I preferred and why?
Let me know how you’d like me to be more critical.
TF have the best grommets.
Interesting, what makes them the best?
opponent is hitting heavy
He certainly was! Clay court specialist 😅 you can watch me play him in a breaker in last week’s video!
First!
