Amazing build
thanks for the design, guessing/thinking the single pole is best for humidity..
thanks so much for the pattern e the tips , i have finish my tent (but i have used silpoly 20d ) , very nice !
Wow thank you for the video. That looks like my dream shelter! It looked like big process. Great work ! A piece of art !
Next level light and ingenuity with taping the mesh to the fly.
How many nights have you slept in it and how has it held up?
I've heard of pinholes developing in the .57 DCF material Zpacks uses. It seems you're using the lighter weight material than that.
Yes, I actually did use the .34 oz material for the fly and it has held up fine so far!
Been used only for 4 trips though with 6-7 nights in total.
Well done! Looks like an amazing tent. New follower here. Crow✌️
Nice work. Sewing that thin DCF isn’t easy. What model of laser cutter do you have?
I have two:
- Neje Max 2S
- Feungsake 30W
Great job, looks great!
Very nice tent ! I am doing my own one (for 2 people) and i have some PSA tape (1,5 cm) but i wonder if i should buy 2,5cm PSA tape.
Which on did you use ?
IIRC I used 20mm in the video but mostly utilize 25mm nowadays.
Thanks ! I would be Much more confident with 25mm psa tape
Is this based on a zpacks design? Did you look at the Tramplite in UK?
I based it on multiple tent designs. So yes, the pocket tarp did play a huge role in it.
Amazing work. By chance would you share your dimensions/design?
Thanks. :)

Was hats Material denn ca gekostet?
How much strenght has the dct tape compared to normal sewing? If I do not care about making it the lightest possible it's better to sew everything?
Well, that depends. In extreme cold tape will fail. However: DCF can rip or elongate along the stitch holes when sewn!
So if you want to make it as reliable as possible: Sew it and then put dcf tape over the seams! :)
I don't have instagram how much are your products or where can i find info?
Thanks for reaching out! I'm sorry, but since its only a hobby for me I don't regularly sell my works. You can only keep in touch with my IG since I occasionally post and sell an item once I make something new.
Where do you buy your materials from?
Mostly Extremtextil, Adventurexpert, RipStopByTheRoll, Dutchware, Discovery Fabrics and Shelby Outdoor.
What is the website of Montmolar packs and DCF tents?
There is only the Instagram @montmolar. ;)
Awesome design. How could one go about purchasing one? And how long before V2 comes out?
Thanks mate!
I have only 'sold' to friends and family so far, since I sadly don't have much time to sew. :/
It would also be pretty expensive since DCF itself is really expensive in Germany...
The video is about my V2. :) You can see V1 in an earlier video or on my Instagram @montmolar.
Best regards
Martin
Great tent and video! Do you have the pattern for sale?
No, but it can be found on Reddit. :)
Can you link me the pattern?
You can find the details here: www.reddit.com/r/myog/comments/sh0akq/227g_8oz_the_dcf_tent_the_plex_solo_could_have/
Whats the sewing machine you used? What are all the bare minimum features for a sewing machine for myog camping gear?
I use an old school Pfaff 1212. Personally I would look into one with double or triple transport, as it makes sewing elastic materials easier.
Old domestic machines are perfect, as they are plenty sturdy and mostly not too expensive.
@@vanCapere thanks very much for mentioning that! After your comment and then seeing pfaff 1200 series mentioned in a Ripstop by the roll podcast by a vintage sewing machine expert that certainly helped pull me out of a rabbit hole. Just found/bought pfaff 1229 in good condition
Tolles Projekt!!
@@vanCapere Danke schön!
Can someone purchase one of these form you..??

👏👏👏
Thanks gor sharing this. Gonna give it a go next time i'm in the market for a new tent. Question: could fold tape over the edges instead of sewing them?
Should work but you would still need to find a way of attaching the perimeter netting (e.g. sewing it to a DCF strip and then taping it to the edge).
@@vanCapere Gotcha, thanks for the reply 👍
Great video Martin! Where do you buy the DCF?
@@MarkusGebhard Mostly from Ripstop.pl or RipstopByTheRoll. :)
this is the stage im at.. i added 3.5% for height difference.. not sure my tie outs are in the same place, (needed more magnets) this was from a load of off cuts anyway.. i figure the tape and dcf band would hold the net to any point you require.. am considering a full footprint with a steeper fly..
My dream tent ! Can I order one from you ?

Wow.
Amazing work! What do you think bro, do you think you could do one for me as well?😀 i would pay you well!
Thanks mate! I normally only do projects for friends, since it's gonna be really expensive and the lead time will also be quite long...
@@vanCapere aah such a shame. Can we be friends? I really love your creativeness you could have a small ultralight shop. I think it would do well😀
Where do I get one of those laser robots? 🦾🖤
Look for the NEJE MAX 2S: amzn.to/3v6hdKV
