Do more Wintersun. Sons of Winter and Stars, a little fast than this but awesome; and Loneliness, one of the best ballads in history where Jari is more emotional and sad.
Greetings from Finland. Like Tuomas Holopainen is to Nightwish, Jari Mäenpää is the heart & soul of Wintersun with his compositions, vocals & multi-instrumentalism. P.S. The kanji on the neck of Teemu's green guitar also means "time"/"moment".

You should check out Leväluhta by Korpiklaani. They just released the video a couple of weeks ago. It's folk metal with a twist and guaranteed will make you smile.
"Henkselipoika" is more likely to cause a smile, Leväluhta has kind of sad story behind it. As you probably know, Leväluhta (also known as Levänluhta) was an Iron Age burial site, where the burials were different from other burials at that time. While other burials were cremations, and the cremated ashes were then placed ander stone structures, Leväluhta bodies were not burned and there was no stone structures. As the site is also swampy ground, they thought it possible these were sacrifices, criminals or prisoners of war or something, who were sunk in the swamp. But now they think it is probably just a cemetary: most of the buried are women and children, there's no violence in their bones, and women were buried with their precious jewelry. Most of the Leväluhta buried people whose DNA has been obtained from the bones, were Sami people: one was a person who had mixed Balt and Scandinavian ancestry. The song however has this idea that this woman was a prisoner who was put into the swamp alive.
@@Aurinkohirvi Well the story of the place called Leväluhta is maybe a bit grimm, but the song itself is beautiful and and it's a story of a man burying his beloved wife, not a "prisoner".
@@improbus100 Checked the lyrics? I translated them into English in StormChild's channel. Lyrics says prisoner, nothing about wife. "Vaikea vankina hallita huomisen huolia" Also this suggests she was taken there, probably as a sacrifice: "Sinne minut kantoivat, Syliin tämän varjovirran, Jolle minut antoivat" She is just calling company so that she wouldn't be alone in her grave.
@@Aurinkohirvi That particular word in the lyrics doesn't mean she was held a prisoner. Lyrics tell a story of the one that's buried, but nowhere there it's implied she was alive. It's a story of someone who died and is buried in Leväluhta and the video tells a story of a woman whos husband buried her there. That's the way I see it.
@@improbus100 Even prisoners have husbands. But in the lyrics she sings that all the familliar people come to see her, so she wouldn't float alone in her grave. Has she been her wife, girl friend, daughter, don't know from the video. But yeah the song implies she was a prisoner and sacrified or taken there against her will. It doesn't sound to me just a song about her being dead, but also how she became one.
While still watching, thanks for the lyrics in the video. I have hard time knowing them, and I have listened this song for so many time, like Nightwish stuff (also the drummer is from Nightwish), but as said hard time to really focus on the lyrics. Anyways, lumilapio!
It's interesting, to see your reaction. I think Nightwish has had 800 tracks at the most creating some trouble. (I'm back) I am in the City Center shopping center, listening to the up-and coming- Finnish band "Grandmother Corn". You could listen to them on YT, Spotify.....It was a Nenäpäivä charity event collecting donations for developing country projects. The concept comes from England, and the theme is having fun and doing good. A couple of suggestions for a reaction: Sonata Arctica "White Pearl Black Oceans" Live in Kemi. Amorphis "Death Of A King" (Official Video) Jari, the main man and main vocalist of Wintersun lost 25% of the capasity of one of his lungs, due to tuberculosis, when he was doing his obligatory military service. Lumilapio!
From what I have read on other channels, to beat the copyright issues, you need to pause the videos and "add content". When you just play through the video, they consider that using their content. Elizabeth on the channel The Charismatic Voice has a full video on what constitutes fair use. (ruclips.net/video/-cMamxBIA8U/видео.html). That being said, this was a good reaction to a very powerful band.
For those who have been subbed for few years now, these reacts are not what we care of :) Reacts just are popping like insane now left and right, above and below. Personally as long as you like what you do that's what matters so I'm all for it = still here and interested what you do :) Edit: Know your husband is an athlete (basketball xtreme if I remember correct), does he play any instruments too ?
About the dogs.. I don't know why but I kept snapping few times, "Here, here look at me" just out of their cuteness and me not able to have a pet on my apartment. Doggies are amazing :)

This is something you propably didn´t get to see while your missionary time in Finland. You propably heard that Finland have such a powerfull metal culture here. You might noticed that we are mostly atheistic even tho metal music is almost like a religion. We just don´t feel the need to believe in something supernatural becouse we can hear and feel it thrue music. Also those that really are religious here are not so fusiastic as in US. But hey, nice to see that you are discovering this side of finnish culture too. Most of the people in metal scene are very easy going and relax people. I could claim that in metal community people are the most tolerant against differend kinds of people. Also fun fact that in typical metal festivals and conserts is very rare that anything from bad behavior to violence would happen. Guards doesn´t need to throw anyone out for misbehaving. Once i´ve seen guy that was walked away becouse he was too drunk stand by himself.
You listened with head sets but dogs can still hear. Were they reacting to the sounds? I've listened the song many times, but never with the lyrics. Hey Rachel, there's more to Finnish music than metal. Not much, but a little. Note to fellow vagabonders: I know there are a lot of Maustetytöt haters in the metal community, but hey, they are an interesting cultural phenomenon, at least.
