I think the reason Kenny said that he'll retire is probably because he knows that if he goes back and expects to continue his in ring career. He'll have to modify his in ring skills. Which would not only make it a different kenny omega coming back, but would prove all his critics (especially Jim) right. Which I'll guarantee omega doesn't want to happen.

Ever since he's called him that and watching Kenny in the ring do his stutter step hand movements thing all exaggerated I can't help but think oh wow that's so goofy and totally unnecessary. I don't blame Jim for loving the wrestling business and wanting to keep it the way it should be. The matches should somewhat resemble and actual physical competition. And if it were even close to a real fight Nobody would do the twinkle toes gimmick

All dead or complete wrecks. Or Taker Claus for that matter, increasingly stinking up the joint for almost a decade, needing to be put together with spare parts by a surgeon after every one-month WrestleMania cycle at the end.
Woops, doesn't fit the "old people _smaht_ - young people _stoopid_ " narrative.
But seriously, people have the gall to still blame Roman Reigns for their crappy match that should have been Taker's absolute last under any circumstances (it really should have ended with the broken streak, at the latest). I don't give a toss about Reigns and have no reason to defend him - but that's such BS. He was working with a guy who was so wrecked, he couldn't even walk the entire distance from the stage to the ring and had no core strength anymore. In fact, he could barely walk at all. Jim brings up a really good point here. Kenny can't wrestle the same way forever injury or not. No one is invincible against time and how it wears down the human body... Another great example just starting to show itself in another sport is Bryson DeChambeau in golf. He got on this kick of being the Russian in Rocky 4, training like a mad man, studying the science of his swing, all sorts of crap to maximize his power when hitting a golf ball. He was hitting drives 400 yards and I'm not exaggerating that number. He injured his wrist, came back, isn't hitting as far and isn't winning. At some point the body just says NO MORE DAMN IT and you either adapt or you can't ever do well again because the idea of going back to what used to work is no longer an option.

Like pitchers in baseball you have throwers and you have pitchers throwers throw hard but cant locate well. Pitchers dont throw as hard but have better accuracy. They say what separates a hall of fame pitcher from a really good one is the ability to adapt as tut hey lose velocity as they get older. Zach Greinke is a good example of a guy who changed he use to throw 95 when he was in his early 20s now in his late 30s hes hitting 88/89 but he adapted by being smart and having great accuracy. Some pitchers just throw hard and once their velocity Is gone they retire others learn to adapt and become legends.

Father time has yet to be beat and Kenny needs to understand at forty, you're not doing the things you did when you were twenty. At some point you have to learn to take care of yourself because you are not going to get over things as fast as you did before and that hangover is going to wreck you longer to where you just don't want your entire day ruined by a headache and fatigue. How do I know? I'm 39 and I know I'm not doing the things I did when I was 29 because it's just not worth it to put up with the consequences of constantly beating up your body because at some point, you will have to comply to what your body demands whether you want to or not ie, look at Jeff Hardy still doing what he's doing and people saying he has no business in a ring or what happened to Undertaker for as awesome as he was, his biggest enemy in the end was himself who went way longer then he should have.
