Definately a strange thing to happen. There's very little in the old newspaper archives about this, just a short paragraph in the local news, but I kept coming across it whilst looking at other stories and, as not having the car this weekend, its only a 10 minute walk to the graveyard from our house, so we thought we might as well try and find poor Henry's grave.
Hi GV, hope you are well. It's a bizarre way the way he died. I personally don't think anything towards occurred, as in he may have been attacked in his home, but its just another theory to add to many on how the pan become lodged onto his head.
Many thanks Carole. Wenhave a very friendly community here, and I'm sure everyone will welcome you in. We try our best to cover these stories, we will make mistakes now and again, but we do try our best.
Cheers mate and yeah, very strange this one. I mean, I can understand tripping over and banging your head, but to get it stuck in a pan, the odds must be extremely high!
Was the pan on a shelf and hadn't been put up there properly. With nearby doors opening and closing it moved the pan a little more nearer the edge each time until Henry passed by at just the wrong moment ? As for being naked, maybe he had just got out of the bath. Didn't they have those big metal ones in the living rooms back then. Maybe he slipped after his bath and knocked the pot down.
It's a bizarre one is this. Unfortunately, the newspapers from the time have very very little in terms of the story. The few we did find are all pretty much repeated word for word with next to nothing about the poor man, his life, or anything really. More about how he was found. Where we live, we have loads of tales not too different to this but again, with very little in terms of back story.
@DaysofHorror we at Eden field foods had a butcher's department. The skip outside was very smelly in the summer. The top level used to be Waddington store. We took that over. And other business at the rear.
Thanks Donna. Not one of our best but something that still has a bizarre feel to it. A very strange way to lose a life though 🤔 We are back to normal filming next weekend now we have the car back 😅
Yeah we don't know if he was as far as like his personality was like? If he was an eccentric person he might have just been having mental illness and that was an episode where he decided I'm going to put a pot on my head and dance around naked.
There are extremely limited reports on this one on the old newspaper archives, but it's a story I just kept remembering when looking for other stories near to where we live.
Very interesting and a bizarre way to go

What a bizarre story, and I can't imagine what happened to Henry was an accident. Very weird. I'm on a catch up of all your vids :D

I used to live at 5 Holly Mount. And 21 curven edge. And worked at Eden field foods. That was part of Albert mill. Where them houses are now.
Wasn't where Albert Mill used to be also a slaughter house or something to do with animals and packaging meat etc?

We took that over.

My great grandma is buried in there too. Mc fadden.
What a strange story. I do wonder what on earth happened 😮
I know... very strange 😊
A very strange story
Also I have a feeling my late uncle Cyril Turner may have had a connection to Helmshore although I can’t be certain
I really enjoyed watching that video today lol x🤗

He could have been messing around but my instinct is foul play.
May he rest in peace.
Plausible. Thanks for watching and commenting Denise 😊
Yes, interesting story, but more to this than we know.
