  • STANDARD URDU IS THE MOTHER LANGUAGE:
Standard Urdu is the "mother" language of Dhakaiya Urdu, including other regional Urdu languages such as Hyderabadi Urdu, Calcatian Urdu, Lahori Urdu etc. So to keep all these regional Urdu mother tongues prosperous and alive we wish for further development, propagation, and promotion of Standard Urdu.
Standard Urdu is playing a role as a lingua franca among different language speakers and attained the position of global language nowadays. Regional Urdu languages on the other hand, are the spoken language and mother tongues of the people of the respective regions. The mother tongue of the original inhabitants of Dhakaiya, Dhakaiya Urdu is the Urdu language in fact; but some Bengali is mixed in it. As it is in Indian ones.
To keep Dhakaiya Urdu alive at least in writing, we currently have no choice but to write it in Bengali script instead of Urdu. The main reason is, that many people especially the youth, nowadays cannot read and write Arabic or Urdu letters like we and our elders could.
The spoken language of our forefathers, is Dhakaiya Urdu but while writing they used to write in Nastaliq i.e. Urdu script, not in Bangla.
We are not in favor of writing Urdu in any script other than Nastalik or Urdu alphabet.
At the same time, we suggest the new generation of Dhaka, to learn Arabic and Urdu alphabets. And we will continue to strive for it. When they can understand and read the Nastalik alphabet, only then Dhakaiya Urdu writing will also be fully effective.
    Thank you.
