    I appreciate videos like this so I know what I'm getting into I haven't changed transmission fluid but did not know there was a torch screw

    You got patience. Dunno how but you do. Lol. Good job! Mechanic wants 250$ just to change the lines. They do have a little clip you’ll need a pick to reset them. Also a special grabber to move the clamp and pull the lines. Such a money racket man. They could’ve made this so easy

    I have the 08 4.0l RT . My automatic transmission conductor plug is leaking. Can i get away eith changing it out refilling the tranny? How in gods name do we check the fluod level on these things. No dipstick awesome sauce.

      Hello Brandi.
      I do believe that the transmission is similar to a Mercedes Benz. You prolly want to look at video just replacing that. Off top of my head I don't remember if you replace it if all the fluid would leak out. 🤔

    Hey.... I watched this video so many times, and I think I have the confidence to do it. Thanks for the amazing content. Oh, BTW, how long did this take, minus the trip to the store?

    Hi. If I'm doing a full fluid replacement on 08 plate 2.8., how much do I need to put in m8? Im in the uk

    How did you check fluid level without a dip stick. These transmissions are fussy about level.

    • @aricwithautoreplay
      @aricwithautoreplay  2 года назад

      These are like Mercedes Benz I believe you can remove a cap and use a dipstick tool to check. Can’t remember right now if I did or not

    I have a 07 Nitro LS what is the magnet for and was that in the old pan or do i need to buy one? And what size...

    • @aricwithautoreplay
      @aricwithautoreplay  2 года назад

      The magnet attracts all the fine metal shavings that way it doesn’t end up in the transmission. I would put one in it. When I purchased a new pan it did not come with one

      The Magnet Is Definitely Necessary...It Catches All Metal Shavings From Tranny Wear

    • @aricwithautoreplay
      @aricwithautoreplay  3 года назад

      Prolly not that hard prolly just need to have a good set of wrenches and some time

  • @frankdestra6576

    I would have drilled a drain hole in old pan since you were tossing it anyway

    • @aricwithautoreplay
      @aricwithautoreplay  Год назад +1

      I thought about that. But know my luck I would drill and hit a vital transmission part like a solenoid pack or something. I was just being careful. Best safe than sorry. And didn’t want to have small metal shavings inside the transmission

  • @polarwireless
    @polarwireless 3 года назад +4

    I didn't understand you have a new pan why didn't you just take a drill and put a hole in the old pan would have been way cleaner

    • @aricwithautoreplay
      @aricwithautoreplay  3 года назад

      Didn’t think about that and was afraid of drilling into part of the transmission valve body and leaving bits of metal someone in the fluid.

    • @nickthornton1662
      @nickthornton1662 3 года назад +2

      I definitely would have been concerned with metal shavings from drilling. however a hammer and a punch works good or next time replace two of the bolts in the front of the pan loosely before prying, that will hold the pan up from falling completely.

    Did it fix the transmission problem

    • @aricwithautoreplay
      @aricwithautoreplay  3 года назад

      I was really just doing maintenance on the transmission by replacing the fluid and filter.
      The only issue I ever experienced was it idled kinda high and had a delayed shift very randomly like. Once every four months. Who knows if that cleared it up. I can tell you it definitely didn’t hurt. I could tell after replacing the fluid and filter it shifted smoother immediately.
      It doesn’t leak, has a new pan and drives fine for me. It was more preventative maintenance especially with old fluid and a rusty pan
      What is yours doing??

    • @rd295
      @rd295 2 года назад

      We were traveling and got 9 hours away from home and 9 hours to our final destination when it sprang a leak pouring out the tail end we thought it was the front or rear end seal but when whe put transmission fluid in it shifted with no problem so we bought some barks transmission gasket seal and the leak stopped but now we can't deive more then 2 blocks before it stops wanting to shift we were told the fact that it still runs and drives says it may just be the filter because bad or clogged filters can cause a leaks? So we were gonna sell it but im all for trying all we can first until we run out of options that we can't do...

  • @frankdestra6576

    Why the hell would they not put a drain plug in the pan lol lol

    Thats a tough oil change on your engine, 3.7 litre, my nitro is a 4.0 litre, much easier to change oil

    you had a new pan, why didnt you just drill a hole in the old pan.

    • @aricwithautoreplay

    • @mikecptslow7534

      @@aricwithautoreplay Next time just get a large self tapping screw and use your ratchet. On the drill method you could come from the side with a sharp bit so you dont have to put your body weight to it. or go right where the filter is.
