K Ci and Jo Jo have said in interviews ,....she is their cousin and how proud they were of her when she won American Idol....I am sure you can find it on the internet in print or on video,..they said it many times.

A little known fact is that they're first cousins from the same hometown. They are the children of two siblings. What I admire about her is that she didn't use her familial connection to the industry as a stepping stone to stardom. She kept quiet, did American Idol, worked hard, and earned everything on her own. Years later, she still doesn't brag about K-Ci and Jojo being her cousins. Nobody can say that Jodeci is only the reason she's a success. I'm not the biggest Fantasia fan, but I admire her tenacity.

I think she's talented, she can definitely sing, and I like some of her material, but I'm just not a fan of style of singing. Sometimes I think she overdoes it with the hollering and squalling- especially when she sings gospel. I don't mind some screaming, but I like to hear the words and lyrics being sang and sometimes the screams and other vocal antics take away from that. To me, Keke Wyatt and Ledesi are skillful at mixing the two. They do their fair share of hollering (in moderation) without sacrificing the lyrical content and flow of the song. But, I can certainly see why Fantasia has a lot of fans. Her raw talent is undeniable.

tincredible when that spirit hits you, lyrics can't always be enunciated in formal terms, and that particular spirit hits her quite often while performing, whether it be gospel or secular. I truly believe both of their God given talents were given to them by God, to praise him solely. I've noticed that in a lot of singers whom sing secularly. I can't get enough of her when she's in her praising zone, but I do see how it can be overwhelming at times, so I totally get where you coming from. ☺

I said the same thing when I first heard Fantasia on Idol. My exact words were "she's like the female version of KCi." I have been a Jodeci fan since day #1 and familiar with his singing style. Then to find out they are blood-related cousins. It made so much sense. Now the chance to hear them sing together, it is nothing short of dream come true.

It's always the most talented people who can blow anything out the water with immense power NEVER gets the recognition they deserve. Maybe back in whitney Houston and Mariah carey's time talent was respected but even they had their problems with staying afloat with shady business deals and people constantly trying to steer you in wrong directions trying to screw your world over.
