Great Video, your tips are so damn true man. I started out with Cakewalk then Ableton, then I got the MPC and am trying to stay exclusively with MPC 2.0 along with MPC Live. I would like to see you do more MPC start to finish Tracks/Project but with Vocals if you can do that. Keep up the good work Stu!

Right on! If you were my life coach you would probably ban me from watching any ads for new products or restrict me from reading any music posts. Someone once told me -- and he was successful -- if he really knew what he was do he'd be famous.

The only thing that kills my muse quicker than scrolling through samples is scrolling through patches. The odds of randomly coming across a previously unknown patch/sample that's a 100% match are too small to bother with.
The only time I scroll through stuff is when I'm looking for something to spark an initial idea. Once I'm rolling I create my own patches/samples - way quicker!

Hey! I also started with Logic from eMagic! I went to Ableton when they sold to Apple. Now, I went back to Logic and use it in tandem with Ableton :)

@@CREATEEDUCATEINSPIRE It's tough because I start Live in ReWire mode so I can use it inside of Logic, so I suppose I use them both often. I use Live primarily to make and mangle beats, create samples, use Max4Live devices and some of the internal effects and instruments (can't get over Drum Bus!) Ableton Live is amazing to make drum patterns/beats and have the ability to change them up on the fly and not show seams. Having said that, I HATE recording audio from external sources in Live. I like the traditional left to right linear recording method, and while arrangement view is ok, doing raw recording in Logic is lightyears better/easier. Mixing in Logic is unmatched, so I usually just export stems from LIVE when they're finished to reduce my CPU load and mix in Logic, alone. Mastering gets done in Logic as well, if I choose not to send the songs out for third party mastering. I think summing sounds better in Logic and finished songs sound "cleaner" somehow in Logic - plus i like the stock compressors more than Live. There's a lot of juggling in my workflow, depending on what I'm doing.

I’ve been on Mac for years so I would day an M3 Mac when they come out. It will be a learning curve but well worth it in my book. But again, it’s all a tool for your creativity
