Another epic episode, especially liked the dialogue about the importance of respect for the life that is being taken, its so easy to make comments about how one shouldn't hunt certain animals when all most people do today is walk into a supermarket and buy there meat with no requirement to actually witness the taking of that creatures life to help sustain there own, thankyou for documenting the hunting practices and respect that people who rely on the land have for its Flora and Fauna.
I highly recommend if you have a mate from up there, go for a trip. You only see our flag fly near the Australia and Aboriginal but yet to experience our culture and way of life. Us Torres Strait Islanders are unique in our own way and have a lot of history that have never been told which is heart breaking. I was born and raised up there, moved to mainland Australia after school and joined the Australian Army. Im a proud Torres Strait Islander and a proud Aussie Veteran 💯 I call Brisbane home but my heart belongs to the T.S.I...!
@WildReaches Thanks for sharing our culture, it truely means a lot. Not just to myself but others T.S Islanders. Much respect brother 🙏 really appreciate your time, effort and understanding. It goes a long way 💯
I really enjoy and appreciate the passion you have for indigenous culture and the respect of thier ways. I agree we can benefit from the learnings. you have the vehicle here to show us thier ways .. Thankyou. Melb Aus.
Duuude I’m a day late, sorry! What a magnificent place man! Just spectacular! I am really enjoying the more documentary style of editing you are doing on the last couple of eps mate, love it Those little brassy trevalley are actually delicious aren’t that, really really firm and tasty! Can’t wait for the rest of the Bardu series mate! The people and the place seem awesome! Thanks for sharing brother! 🤙🏽
Im glad you’re back posting again! Its very true that when you come to a new place with an open mind and heart that things will align for you. Thanks for sharing your experiences
for some people it's unheard of to watch a turtle catch and cook. but you showed us it's possible in a respectful manner, also it a way of life for some edit: i tried showing to some of my family your last video of turtle cook. but everyone was like "skip"
Love your channel and been watching for a while now. It’s always good too see old faces appear whether family or friends from the Cape to seeing my Duthor & Akas on Badu. You mention a few times now that you always feel welcome to the point of feeling as part of the family. We say Aupassen/Good Passin as young kids our parents/grandparents would teach us to always be kind & show love in return you will be blessed. I guess in Uncle Edmun/Puthu’s case of taking you into his house we as family on the mainland get to see family faces we havn’t seen for awhile etc Thanks again Nath very informative as always ❤
Aupassen/ goodpassen iv heard of this 👌🏼. I think that’s a cool part of the show too that everyone gets to see family and friends as everyone is connected like a big web. I find it amazing
My comment to you is how did you get approved to hunt there? With no guide! As part of the mob? If you hunt somewhere without approved, you could get eaten or hurt badly? That be caused by the ancestors? So can be danger? Love the vid❤

Yes you need to have an open mind and heart to experience that. It’s an ancient way of life that we’re just not used to seeing.
fantastic
