I miss the still moments in this game. Somehow this game was extremely beautiful during the daytime settings in game. The over bright green and light made everything feel magical...almost like the day time was truly when the magic was at its height of power. Other games like Skyrim felt more powerful at night...but this game was beautiful at day. Sometimes you would stop in the woods at an old ruin and just watch the world until the sun went down, and then youd camp in that ruin for the night and wait for the sun to rise. The journey you take in the game may end...but the world you explore never did. You could live a thousand lifetimes in this game and it never got old...despite the fact that you did.
The memory for me is - this. Dark brotherhood cleansing quest, I was out in the wilderness looking for the last member, can't remember the exact one, but the mountains and the sunrise is engrained into my mind, lovely morning.. for killing... as soon as I met the target, I have a quick conversation and attacked ending my inevitable killing spree, the first thing that i did was look and go back up the mountain from which I saw the target. There was a specific lul in the air, but Auriel's Ascension started to play and made it the most memorable encounter in all of gaming for me!
This song is somthing really special, even within the fantastic soundtracks of the Elder Scrolls, this song specifically invokes somthing truely Divine (no pun intended), As it brings to mind one of the most remarkable events to ever occur on Tamriel (its namesake), Could you imagine what it must've been like to have been one of those Ancient Aldmer who were present to witness Auri-el Ascend into the heavens at the end of the Dawn-Era? Can you imagine being one of these Aldmer, seeing one of the Divines themselves ascend to Aetherius with your very own mortal eyes... it must have been utterly astonishing...
It is said that *Auriel Ascended* to heaven in full observance of his followers, so that they might learn to retrace their steps to Immortality. Auriel is the _epitome_ of Elven ideals, an Ancestor King so great, that he ascended and returned to the *Infinite Light of Aetherius.* When the Aldmer came together as a people to create the Crystal Tower, it was not a monument to any King or God, but rather to the spirit of the Elven people, living and dead. Within the glittering walls of the Tower are housed the graves of the early Aldmeri settlers. Preserved forever as a lasting symbol of the power of the people for that brief moment in history, fully unified. Glory to the God-King of the Et'Ada, the Original Spirits, the Gods.

Completely agree. Pretty much the only thing Skyrim has over oblivion is mechanics, which is unsurprising given the passage of time lol. If Oblivion had Skyrim combat this debate would not even exist in the first place
It's like an old memory of someone I had to part from, and now the only place I can find him is in the stillness of the night sky
I relate to this so much. Like I literally have this experience. Thank you for articulating it so well.
How poetic
Beautiful! 🌟☀🗻🐉🧙🏽♂💚

Well said ❤
There was something very magical about Oblivion. I really hope the next Elder Scrolls feels just as magical
And Morrowind was just ugly all day round :D Yet also beautiful.
True. 😇✌🏽❤
*18 years* since it's release.
Well then, I can finally take Oblivion out for a few cold ones with the boys.
Here's to the next 18! 🍻

No words can describe how envious we are of you experiencing this for the first time. I wish I could rediscover it all over again.
I'm so sad that Geytkerpur's channel is gone. I wonder what happened...
Geytkerpur put up a community post about it on his new channel. Key to the Geyt.

What is the location of the mountains in the video?
Beautiful.
I believe that's Red Mountain in the distance, from Skyrim's Dragonborn DLC.
