I really love sears catalogs and especially, the wish book from sears as I believe that is what it was called, which came out around Christmas time. It's much more fun to go through a catalog and look at all the items from sears that is it is to be on the Internet. A catalog is something that you could hold. They had a lot of neat things in there. I guess sears is not around because they couldn't visualize the fact the Internet and how important it was for them to take all that they sold and to put it on the Internet and so other companies came about like Amazon and that took a lot of business from sears and other companies and not only that Walmart came along. But if sears would have only grabbed their catalog and put all the information on a website and gave her the great name and did what Amazon did they would still be in business but they didn't go that route so now they're just being wiped off the face of the earth, how sad. Though I still believe that sears still exists at least I know of one store I think in California, but I don't know of any other stores so maybe others can let me know if sears is around at all. What a great memory for a child and I am 61 now.
Assuming they were a medium age of 30, that's correct...any older ones are probably in their 90s and grandma models back then are long pushing up daisies....
Thank you for diligently and faithfully preserving this important history. It's a mesmerizing time machine.
You are welcome!
I miss catalogs. What a book of fun.
