- I shot this video over the course of a few days in my small town in rural Japan. I have lived here for three years with very little contact from westerners. My son and I have been livng in a depopulating mountain town in Shizuoka. We sometimes call ourselves the worlds last friends. We never see anyone and we are never invited anywhere. It has been a strange and beutiful three years. I initially uploaded and distributed an alternate version of this video. I realized that I had left out the most important shot. The bit wherre I am revealed in the last clip.
This is my experiance in the Japanese countryside.
Beautiful! I didn't realize that you had a lake.
Also, handsome local dude at the end. 😄
Right?!
very beautiful video best wishes good sharing my friend
I think I've watched this a dozen times now. You're a stranger on the other side of the world, but when you leave this place my heart is going to break a little
nice to see you again, friend !
Yeah I have not had it in me. I can only post things that feel sincere and real. I needed to be quiet for a bit
hauntingly beautiful. Do you think that loneliness is because you are 外国人 ? Would be different in a hustling & bustling city ?
Or is it just a depopulation thing ? The people here are just old & fading ?
Me & my wife ( along with our 3 daughters ) decided against moving to a beautiful place like this in Japan despite my eagerness due to the fading population. Both me & my wife are used to mega cities like London, New York, Makkah & Dhaka ( capital of one the most crowded-overpopulated country in Asia ). She reckons by the 3rd week we would pack the bags in Shizuoka. It's a place thats dying she says. It's youtube, reality is different, I sigh.
Malaysia is a place we are considering. It's alive & breathing. Unlike Japan. I am sad still.
