Oh wow, I don’t know how on earth you could manage 16 hours doing such a physical job. When I worked at a law firm in Japan, we were expected to do 15 hour days and that was bad enough but it was a sit down office job. You are amazing to have managed that, and doing such incredible work. Good for you to recognise that it’s too much. All the very best to Emanuel for his channel as well!❤xx
I think it takes a good deal of courage to leave any job especially one that is so mentally & physically draining - good on you for trying & recognising it wasn’t for you ❤
I worked for a care company and was treated very badly with the zero hours contract and other things. I loved the patients but couldn’t go on with it. I am glad you’re doing what you need to. Xx
My daughter has been in care work since she left school and she is now 29… she is exhausted all the time.. it’s a shame that carers are expected to go above and beyond for so little…
Jess totally get you Care is one of the hardest jobs so rewarding i use too do 24hr shifts so so hard at least you did the care!!!! Takes special people x
I think you need smaller rollers/curlers as your hair is shorter. That’s why you aren’t getting proper curls! Maybe something you could try? Also, the side swoop fringes were all the rage when I was a teen. I could never get a proper swoopy one though and just had to put up with my side fringe lol! Xx
I graduated with a nursing degree in 2019, never activated my pin, worked as a care support worker for bank in various hospitals for years. Gave up this year to be a pet sitter and it was the best decision. Care is an awful career these days, overworked and underappreciated!
Hair help if you would like it, I have had an issue with my hair snapping for years. It never grows past my shoulders it’s disheartening. But… I have been greasing it up with caster oil and I have loads of spiky baby hairs all over my scalp now and my hairdresser said it new hair growth and it’s a really good sign. And it’s grown an inch longer than it’s ever grown. I sleep in caster oil and slick back a lot with it. I also wear a loose french plait in the back as much as possible and try to brush it as much as I can. It’s helped loads but my hair was exactly like yours. I got my root dyed the same as my natural hair so my blonde naturally faded to a balayage too
When you are next at a hair appointment ask your hairdresser to show you how to pin curl your hair ☺️ You can use it to get longer out of heat styles or do it heat free overnight like they did in the 1940’s & 50’s. Old fashioned foam rollers could be worth a try if you haven’t given up experimenting. I think a lot of the modern heatless curlers only turn out impressive if your hair is super long and thick! ❤
Same!! I've tried curlers, heatless curlers, ghd, curling irons, plaits! I cannot do it, I even tried to find extremely basic guide and still couldn't do it 😢😢
Love the nails! It is sad you have given up your care job, I bet you were a great asset to the company and the clients - but you're right, that was a brutal shift pattern. It's always something you can return to - and as you say, go for shorter shifts that suit you, that's what I do now. Great drone footage too!
In Ireland 0 hour contract are illegal now . I got lucky on mine for two years work wise but I left healthcare work as was mental .i know work aoxial care with sign. Language ( I’m going deaf ) it has it own set of issues per day but eventually when get a year experience in social care worker I will move on and work in sign language for better pay. I worked in care for 10 years and I used to do 16 hour shifts then 24 hour shifts cover sick leave and holidays .it isn’t worth it long term cannot sustain it at all not mention many other issues - low pay so forth . Bullying . Toxic work environment. Better off leaving !
Also work hours are brutal and no one else would do the 12/16/24 hour shifts which are illegal too . I did 12-16 hours for years 3/4 days a week as was only choice at the time but 10 years of it ans awful wages I was done after had my child stayed in it 2 years then quit ! The toxic environment and decriminalisation for going deaf for too much so gave it up. Sadly loved the job but I never ever return that kinda work .never .
Gosh, I would never go back to working in care, It was back breaking and quite demoralising. I'm now an HLTA and love it!!!! Maybe you could think about a TA job. All the holidays are a bonus ❤
Oh Jess you make me laugh so much, because EVERY hair problem you have, I have too !!!! I’ve been on the quest for long luscious locks for the last 10 years ! I’m forever buying every hair product under the sun and trying out these new trends and NOTHING works !!! I’ll never give up though ! But your heatless curlers turn out EXACTLY like mine !!! Aghhhh the struggle is real girl ! I get it 🤯🤯
