I can't imagine anyone saying anything negative about you and your painting or your teaching method. You are so pleasing to listen to. I have just started painting just with acrylics. Was painting flowers yesterday and they were just awful. I decided to learn more how to vary the look. I do not used your alla prima method though but still your method of explaining is soothing!! A month of so back I tried your rose, it was a complete failure and I was "frustrated" which you address in this video, thank you for that. I will dive back in this afternoon and try again, now with the added information about ovals, circles and dropping the center and starting with the dark. Thanks again. Don't pay attention to the nay sayers!!!!

Dear sir, I’m following you for sometime and trying to learn from you diligently. I’ve made some beginner roses also. 😊 Recently I was making your apples painting and during the process I got frustrated. I was very sorry to feel that way and criticised myself too for my impatience. But today when I hear you saying, “ If you are not frustrated, you are not learning anything.”
This line comforted me and motivated me to keep trying. Thank you so much. 🙏 Love from India 🇮🇳

This class is outstanding. I love that you repeat reminders because it will help me break my habits! I decided to work on 5 by 7 inch canvas panel which enabled me to complete my painting which kept my perspective in check. I used your composition but all used all white daisies along with a gradient background that was an accident from a sunset painting..lol. I could not be happier with my painting...thank you!! At the 21 min mark when you spoke of FRUSTRATION. I have found, with my own dealings with trying to emulate either you/your art, or someone else's is that I can't PAINT like you. I think too many people who are going through this must realize this one thing. You can watch/learn from someone, but at some point you have to leave the nest. You know? As an example, I tried to do the painting of the Afternoon Storm in a "Paint it Simply" but I just was having trouble with the waves, the clouds. I had to stop, put it off to the side and paint a few other things. Okay, today, I went and painted it my way, with the waves/water going another way, and my clouds were at horizon. LOVE THE BOAT. I always paint boats and water.
    It came out really well.
So, you know I follow you Dave, love that you can give us these lessons. But we've got to take the reins and do this OUR WAY. Gotta get brave and just go for it. Like you say, you practice, practice, practice. That's what anything you want to excel at you have to do. It might take years. So what? JUST DO IT.
    THANK YOU!!!💖❤💖
