With the exceptions of Crater Lake, and Atlantic City, I've down all the rest multiple times. When you come to the US and you're looking for good food, Santa Fe, and New Orleans, are both among the top 5 best Cities for food in the entire nation, and Memphis isn't that far behind. It really depends on what sort of a trip you want to have.
You can have incredibly educational trips, ot party 'til you drop trips.
The only advice I can give you is to pick a region and explore that region, unless you have several months to travel and absolutely avoid the Summer months throughout the USA. While an area like I live in has some beautiful Summer days, we also just had a full week of dark rainy days where the temps were around 30 degrees Celsius. It was miserable and that is always a possibility.
And under no circumstance should you consider visiting any northern state in the Winter. You will be miserable. You do not have the clothes, or the gear to deal with it. Where I live, it isn't known for really bad Winter weather. Our normal daily temp is between -6 and -10 Celsius, . . . not counting "wind chill". Wind Chill is the thing that can slice though your heavy British Winter Coat as if it was a thread bare cardigan. We often get 1 meter of snow falling during a storm and we are NOT in a "snow belt". There is a snow belt south of us and they regularly get up to a meter of snow in a normal snow fall.
You are not going to be able to drive in the snow and we have absolutely no viable passenger trains, nor reliable public transportation outside metropolitan areas. And on the transportation note, remember what you consider a long road trip ia an American's daily commute.
I recall a group of young Brits touring the USA. They had a map and wanted to put a sticker on the map for every place they traveled. After the first day's travel, they pulled out their map of the state to place the sticker. We had traveled less than 2 centimeters, . . . in about 4 hours travel. We had barely made it out of the county.

If you want an Orlando field trip, but want to explore more than one "culture," start in Atlanta Georgia. Get some history and great southern cooking and bbq. Drive south a bit to Savannah Georgia. The only southern city to survive the Civil War. Great architecture, fun vibe, great food. Then just go south along the coast. Maybe stop at St Augustine Florida to see the oldest fort in America, the lighthouse, and architecture of Flagler College. If you time it right, you can go just another 15 minutes south and see a launch from the Cape (like SpaceX). Drive along Daytona Beach. Experience the "salt life." Florida before Disney. Maybe check out the NASCAR track. Then turn into the state to Orlando. Walt Disney World is an experience in itself. Complete immersion. It could be literally anywhere in the world, because once you're in, everything you see, hear, feel, taste, smell is designed by Disney. That's why I recommend that "road trip," and I've broken it into easy day drives (just a couple of hours). A World is bigger than a Land, and the smaller park came first. :)
Disney started in California, and Disney Land, the first park, is there.
Disney wanted something bigger, so be bought swampland in Florida to build Disney World (which, big as it is, amazingly, is actually smaller than he originally intended it to be!)

Born and raised in New Orleans . There is always something going on in the French Quarter and there are ALWAYS some kind of festival going on year round. And there are MANY different types of food to choose from . But if you want to get away from the fast paced city, you can go along the river and explore plantation homes and other settlements along the Mississippi river. But to experience a huge party then you have to come down for Mardi Gras and catch some parades.

Take into consideration that Florida in the summer is hot, can be humid and there could be hurricaines. Better to go in the spring or fall.
I'd like to recommend this trip up the Hudson River ( from N.Y.City). Its a day trip on The Circle Line ( ferry) and goes north up the Hudson River to West Point. This is the same route between the high cliffs of the Palisaides.up the N.E. coasts of N.J. and N.Y. State and the British navy took during the Revolutionary War to fight our militia.
West Point is where our cannons rained cannon balls down on the Brits and pummeled their ships. ( some cannons still remain there on the cliffs). It was the perfect place to attack and not be fired upon. West Point is where the U.S. Army has its military academy. You can visit there. Its a beautiful trip to take from late Spring through to Fall.

Lewis, the entire crater at C. Lake is as a result of Mt. Mazama blowing up 7700 years ago, as was mentioned. Shaun and his wife went there a few years ago, but it was early in the season, even though the rest of the country was experiencing spring weather, up in that altitude, there was still snow on the ground. As a result of it being a volcanic crater, there are no rivers running in or out, so the water is pure and clear as can be, since it filled over a several hundred year period as a result of snow melt and rain.
Santa Fe is also known for its annual hot air balloon festival--dozens and dozens of them in the air at the same time--quite a sight.
Is there anything you're not scared of, dude? They've been running these daily mule tours at Grand Canyon for 100+ years, and I believe the stats say that NOBODY has ever died because the mule they were riding lost its balance. Mules are probably the most sure-footed animal on the planet--far better than horses. On to the original subject: Grand Canyon Village is where the hotels/motels, grocery stores, post office, tour operators, etc. are located.
In addition to what's been stated here about Nashville, it's also home to the largest Kurdish immigrant population in the country.
The original Disney property, Disneyland, is in the LA suburb of Anaheim (ANN-uh-hime), but the biggest by far is in Orlando, and is, of course, Disney World. Have you thought about taking your nephews and nieces while they're young to "nearby" Eurodisney?
When I visited New Orleans, I ate some local foods, but the majority of my time was on a swamp tour about 30 mi./48km. to the NE, which was amazing--alligators, Cajun swamp dwellers and their homes on the water--a very good use of my time there.
At 10:09 in Yellowstone is (I'm sure you've seen it in previous videos) Grand Prismatic Spring.
I've visited all the places here except for Crater Lake.

Regarding your other video today where they mentioned safety. Memphis and New Orleans have more unsafe areas than average. But if you keep to the tourist areas and don't do something stupid like trying to buy drugs, you'll be fine.

If anyone is interested in visiting Yellowstone, there's a YT channel that's actually for reviews of small kitchen appliances. Anita, the channel owner, took a trip to Yellowstone and posted a couple of great videos I would suggest viewing before making reservations for accommodations. She's budget friendly and gives so much information - really two of the best, most helpful videos I've seen. Just look back through her videos to mid-Sept and early Oct of 2023. (She also did one on Grand Teton a month or two later which you'll see when you look for the Yellowstone ones) I usually don't list other RUclipsrs on someone's channel as it seems rude, but since this is channel is generally totally unconnected, content-wise, but does offer these two useful videos, I'm mentioning it. Lewis, you can delete if you find it offensive I've listed another channel.

Suggest you realize that driving endless hours on two lane highways can get you some amazing views... but everything is hours apart. When I visit the UK, I usually go to the coach tour websites and see their itineraries. If I find one I like, I DO RESEARCH along that route and many of the smaller parks, museums, shooting ranges, famous restaurants, etc. are on the route, but don't or can't handle 50 people coming in the door at the same time. Yes, I have driven on the left side of the road (more like the middle in half of Scotland, Wales, or the Republic of Ireland). I have been on many tours. Some are great, you can sit by the window and film a lot of scenery while someone else drives. I taken about a dozen European tours, but I've also driven myself around (or taken the train from London to Lincoln - DO NOT TAKE OUR TRAINS, it's faster to drive yourself!). Anyway, tours are good value (including your lodging), but you miss a LOT of the smaller places.
Ignore the State lines, and find a few National Parks or Monuments that you find interesting. Draw a circle around it, what else is there withing that circle? Do that all over an American map. Make lists of what you have seen in other videos, mark places/restaurants/sights of interest TO YOU on the map. Can you find a 250 km circle that takes in a dozen of those items on your list? Or expand it to 300 km... PLANNING is everything. When is hurricane season for that area (EVERY area has different seasons)? Tornadoes? When are the parks open? Yellowstone is open in the winter, but half the roads are closed. Try to avoid the Parks in the summer when EVERYBODY heads to them. Fall and spring are pretty good, but beware of spring break around Easter. You do not want the drunken students drinking & driving around you and hotels are FULL. Check for American 3 day weekends. Try to avoid them! Avoid San Diego during Comic-Con, people have to stay 100 miles from the place as every hotel room closer has been booked for months. Major festivals have the same problem across the nation.
PLOT your list of INTEREST onto a national map. Do you find clusters? A great road trip is to do one of your clusters (and find other things, ask for suggestions for that area). Unless two clusters are really close to each other, don't over do it as you'll add a lot of hours of driving for little gain. There are THOUSANDS of places to see in America. Good luck!!!
