Until We Take Control: The Story of the Failed Coup In Turkey

- In 2016, the future of Turkey hung in the balance. An attempted coup took place in which more than 250 people were killed, parliament was bombed and bridges across the Bosphorus were seized. The Gulenist network, known as FETO in Turkey, has been held responsible by the authorities. We examine the evidence against some of the main suspects and reveal new information about the investigation. We also speak to ex-members of the network, those wrongly jailed as a result of its actions, and those who tried to bring it to justice.
Long live Turkey. Love from Indonesia🇮🇩
The Turkish ppl chose freedom for themselves and their progeny. They've had enough of military coups and poverty and lack of development. That's why they stood up as one man against the attempted coup.
Yes I’m shocked that the man is being sheltered in the US. The US media has twisted this so badly. It’s so hard for ppl’s minds to overcome media but I think I’m understanding that there’s things that even this program can’t say without incurring wrath & accusations.

@@admiral20055 Yes. But what’s disturbing is that in the times of Eisenhower, JFK & up through Carter they did a lot of freelancing. IMHO starting in the 1980s they’ve had increasing control from the executive branch (which should be good) which means that a lot of shocking things we see are approved by ppl at the very top.

I just hope turkey stays on the path that it is on now and turkey will be great again and better then it ever was as a republic. Long live turkey, my true home🇹🇷❤

People with high moral values love from Pakistan for Turkey and ppl
Agree 100%. As an American many of us can see that our media is globalist propaganda. I was horrified by a documentary that showed the illegal & immoral drone war on ppl in Pakistan. Media & powerful entities run the USA & determine our candidates before we even get a chance to vote. It seems like America’s only export for the last 22 years has been weapons & warfare. Turkey is a secular government that exercises admirable decision making & yet it appears that American elements were involved supported the coup there. It was barely covered in American media just like the drone strikes that killed innocent ppl in Pakistan. Americans can’t get truth from our media so we have to learn about what changes we must demand in US foreign policy from citizens of other nations. I would like to put together an internet network so that ppl around the world can learn how our governments truly act on foreign soil & if military bases should be closed. Since you’re from Pakistan can you please tell me how America is perceived there & what changes US citizens should demand from our government with regard to its policies & actions with Pakistan? Thank you for any time that can spare. I’m just an average person but hoping to find a way to make more Americans wake up & make foreign policy concerns one of the list important issues in elections.

This was unbelievable
I live in Ankara. We will never forget.
Turkey are strong and very brave people in the world...no more pain for Turkey from Malaysia with love...why they are so brave actually?? Anyone can tell me seriously?? I just want to know and want learn from them..
I read live reports from tourists and and citizens of Turkey while it was happening. Many strange things happened. This is, to me, still one of the most mysterious and questionable events ever. I remember how those questions started making people uncomfortable and not long after that, all of those questions went to thin air. If we compare this to what's happening in Sudan right now, I don't think people can easily accept the simple fact that it's a failed coup. They had Erdogan on the edge of a cliff a few times but they didn't do anything. Especially the one when he was on an airplane. That's just one of the many weird things about the coup.
I did hear rumours that when the Turkish Jets of the Coup team were trailing the Presidential plane, they even contacted the pilot of the plane and said "who is in the plane?". The pilot said "A lot of Turkish citizens inside the plane". So the Turkish coup jets decided not to shoot it down as they would feel that it wouldn't give them a good reputation from the world if they actually shot down a plane.
Shooting down a civilian plane over a city, where the crashing plane would have completely destroyed the reputation of the putchists, and risk loosing western support.
@@Doan84 It was a presidential plane, not commercial (according the news). He was flying after he had a vacation. Did Erdogan take 200+ civil servants on his vacation? Reputation? They were already taking heavy arms to the streets threatening innocent civilians. They had no reputation to protect. Also, it's a coup. Not a peaceful march.
The only possible scenario where the plane would have a lot of passengers is Erdogan flying on a commercial plane. Was Erdogan, the president of one of the most influential countries in middle east politics, conflicts, and power struggle, flying on a commercial airplane? Even *if* he did fly on a commercial airplane, why would he? Knowing that he'd be a target of assassination, why would he fly on a commercial airplane, risking the lives of "supposedly" many Turkish citizens? (It's not even confirmed that the plane had many passengers).
Also, one of the officers explicitly said “Why they didn’t fire is a mystery”.
@Ozkan Onalan What was reported was the officers on the plane knew that they had been targeted and shadowed. No such thing about the pilot doing this and that. I was following the news and live updates closely and no one reported about the pilot doing anything extra. They were already being shadowed and targeted. And it's hard not to chuckle when we rewatch the news about the supposedly "military coup" now that we've seen what's happening in a military controlled country like Sudan.
And those who can add to the story are silenced in prison.
Now that's a documentary...
CIA 💯
Guess the world have forgot that turkish are the same who took Constantine and made it Istanbul. Never forget the fearce and courage of ataturk people
ataturk was a traitor and a dictator who killed many turks and established an ideology called kamalizm. many people who love him dont really know the truth about him
@@esra9993 he did not create the ideology the stupid people did. He may have expressed opposing views but without him there wouldn’t be a Turkish country. If he didn’t express secularism the western countries would have eaten him and what was left of the Ottoman Empire, alive. It’s a pattern don’t you see. Middle eastern countries promoted religious beliefs and while I’m religious myself, at a time where Europe was stronger and still is, it’s not very smart to promote religion and that is why they are completely destroyed and run by terrorist organizations. Had Turkey done that, they would have been in the same situation. I’m not supporting Ataturk’s beliefs or characteristics but rather his actions and at a time of uncertainty, he did what he needed to, to save the country.
Allah knows the truth, and indeed the truth shall be revealed. Slanderers shall be punished inshallah!
Smells of CIA.
Allah will judge between Erdoğan and Gullen on the day of recompense. We shall see who was what
Where are all those cops involved in this? They are fired from their Jobs? But what about Future.. If they still involve themselves in s7ch incidents?
I will not be surprised if the Gulenists had played a role in forming ISIS.

Did Gulen master mind the coup? Or did the military carry out their duties as Atatürk has mandated? 🤔👌
Definitely gulen. I live between Brazil and Germany. Many ex military who were involved in the coup are hiding in these countries with the help of "hizmet" members

Walahi i prayed salatul layl last quarter of the night in sujud for erdoghan in the night of the coupe but after how he treated and is now the Saudi government after all the all the loyalty support and brotherhood and love they have given to erdoghan and traded them for the Muslim brotherhood and Khomeini i lost all respect for him. I realised he been deluded by the Muslim brotherhood to view the dajjal Khomeini as a righteous Muslim and chained the Turkish economy to iran making Iran the biggest traded partner in the region totaling 40% of Turkish trade

Honestly, that Gulen system is admirable, although I wouldn't necessarily agree with their objectives and practice. Building a hidden structure is necessary to undermine the strong grip of the Turkish military.

We have the same kind of group in form of Pashtun Tahafuz Movement here in Pakistan which have ties to Israel and CIA, although the group is in nascent stages but it can become pretty hostile and manipulative if not nipped in the bud.
Who is to blame for that! Until Punjabis stop their monopoly in the overall affairs of Pakistan and stop treating pashtuns as the other, its obviously someone from outside is going to exploit your differences
The gulenist movement is 100% supported by the cia

Because not all of military was involved in the coup attempt
Dude, it was a small group. The real army wasn't behind the coup.
They communicated through a by-lock app (Founded by Gulen's organization), such app which is now banned in Turkey.
Trt world has received criticism in the West for failing to meet accepted journalism ethics and standards for independence and objectivity, with some commentators calling it a mouthpiece or propaganda arm of the Erdoğan administration. Not much substance? Did you even watch this documentary? It's called documentary for a reason. It has documents, videos, pictures, voice recordings, interviews... What else do you need?
I dislike Erdogan and Gulen so much. Turkey can do and must do better.
