- South Carolina Head Coach Dawn Staley, Senior Guard Te-Hina Paopao and Sophomore Forward Ashlyn Watkins met with members of the media following Friday Night's 78-59 win over North Carolina State, to advance to Sunday's National Championship

Dawn is already a legend. She is the heir apparent to Geno and Pat Summit. She is the best coach in South Carolina history. She's built a dynasty, and unlike other coaches, except for Ray Tanner, she has the charisma and track record to reload every year. Go Gamecocks! Iowa is a great team, play like y'all are capable, and bring it home Sunday!

They already cheated WV in the second round and an untimely call against UCONN with 3seconds left! Really? I suspect they'll try to saddle Gamecocks with bogus fouls and any calls they can make up. This is also a dig to keep Dawn from being celebrated. I pray not but we will see. Side note: The media have put all their eggs in Clarks basket. What a slap in the face if she came up stinking.
This is a very special moment in time for a very special team with a clutch, GOAT Coach. So proud of the way Dawn and the players have grown this year. I’ve never watched pressers until this year. Something special is happening. Go #SC!

It may be just me but you ever noticed the difference between Dawn Staley and Kim Mulkey? Dawn always starts the presser with compliments for the opposing team, coach & players. Mulkey it is always about her .

South Carolina, the state and university, is so blessed to have Dawn. She shows all of us how to be respectful, considerate, and be humble. We need more Dawn’s in the world today. Look at how she has shaped those fine young women for the rest of their lives.
Wow amazing performance by the south Carolina Women team this afternoon was a tough and physical and mental game tonight but by the end of the clock they came out in top.Hopefully they will win the championship this year. Great contributions tonight and efforts from Ashlyn,Kamilla ,Te-hina, Raven Johnson and Tessa Johnson tonight.But for me the MVP player goes to Kamilla her 22 points lead South Carolina to the victory and prevented them from being eliminated. But on the defense end this afternoon was a big and great game coming from Ashlyn Watkins with 20 rebounds and several blocks she did amazing work on the defense end . The defense MVP goes to Watkins tonight. This is a great night for Gamecocks fans and Dawn Stanley as well.

I really hope SC was watching the UConn game. Did they see how UConn got robbed? If SC plays like they did today it will be game over. I was really shocked that SC play so badly. Reminded me a lot of last yrs. team. Just remember if they would cheat Geno, that they won’t hesitate to do it to SC. SC must blow Iowa off the court to win. Don’t let the Refs decide. Those guys have shown what they will do to ensure an Iowa win.😮

Let's see her beat Iowa first. She had this same opponent last year and you saw what happened. SC lost this game because of the wrong strategy employed by Staley. You can't let Clark go off for 40+. I hope she learned something tonight watching UConn hold her to 21 pts using a box and trap strategy. Keep Clark in the 20's and force others to make shots. SC should be dominant on the boards and win the game from the inside. Let's see if Staley and SC can do that.
@@ronwilliams1385 Dawn Staley and SC lost last year not because of what Caitlin Clark did but because of what they couldn't do and that was score from the perimeter.
With all that Caitlin Clark did they won by 4 points.
Dawn Staley strategy was that she was going to let Caitlin Clark get hers but suffocate the rest of the offense and had they been average at scoring from the perimeter it would have worked.
Iowa took away the inside and packed the post and South Carolina couldn't pull them out because they couldn't score from the perimeter.
This year is different......
@@leonbrooker8150 True, but if she would have ran the offense thru Zia Cooke instead of Aliyah Boston, that would have softened up the inside more where they could have scored later in the game. Her strategy didn't work last year. Let's see if she has learned anything.

@@ronwilliams1385 I'm not sure how that would have helped. Zia was a slasher and they built a fort around the rim.
They still would have needed to establish at least a threat on the perimeter.
Remember when they were trying to draw them out of their zone and Caitlin Clark was at the top of the free throw line and one of her teammates was going to guard the perimeter ball handler and Caitlin Clark told her to stay in the zone because South Carolina was not a perimeter threat.
This included Zia Cooke as well.
She played around the basket.
She wasn't getting there without picking up a foul...
Dawn Staley knew this that's why she kept trying to force the ball into Aliyah Boston.
And they were allowing Iowa to be very physical in the paint so she couldn't get position and she always drew at least a double.
Recognizing a weakness and trying to overcome it is as much an adjustment.
I guess if it's not successful then you're not giving credit for trying to make the adjustment(s).
You can call everything right from the sidelines but if the players don't execute it on the court then I guess it's considered a failure...
Dawn is so humble. I love her!

Sunday's game will be tough. But , our gals got this. I love ❤️ this team. Every other team has stars. But , we have a team. We have a lot of players that could play elsewhere and get a lot of individual awards but they choose to sacrifice and win the big prize. If they win Sunday they will go down as the greatest women's college basketball team in history. GO GAMECOCKS.

Clark gets to push off and no one says a thing (commentators). They show the replays and praise her like she isn't committing an offensive foul

WOW.. I didn’t realize the large free throw discrepancy between the Gamecocks and NC State this game until the reporter brought it up. The refs need to do better. NC State shot 18 free throws while South Carolina only shot 4. That’s jacked up because I definitely saw Kamilla aka Ashlyn constantly getting foul when they would shoot the ball.
NC State had a professional flopper.
It will be the same way tomorrow. We just have to stay poised and dominant.
