THANK YOU! This is awesome. I used to only play straight pool if there were beads (less and less common in pool halls these days). I tried playing with a buddy last night using an app and got frustrated trying to correct the total. I'd never learned how to do paper scoring. Just what I was looking for -- excellent!
This really is the most complicated way of scoring I have ever seen 😄. Write down how many balls there are on the table. And do this after every inning. When racking just add 14 to the balls on table on the scoresheet. When inning ends substract the amount of balls on the table, that’s your total inning score.
I use the apps, but if you could do another of these showing how to use the old-timey beads I'd appreciate it.
Basically it is the same. When points are scored you slide that number of beads away from one side, but not all the way over. When the 14th ball is pocketed, you slide each players partly moved beads (which should total 14) all the way over. Fouls are always deducted from the total score beads that are slid all the way over.

Thanks for the Video Bob. Which app would you recommend. BTW I play at three old school pool rooms and they all use beads.
Beads are a great way to keep score. I have not used many apps so do not have a favorite....yet...
Please do this over with just the wheels.
