I've witnessed Mikaeus go infinite with a single slice of bread and one slice of ham, no condiments. Literally less than half a ham sandwich. An incredible sight, I assure you.
Love Sagas & decided to build a Ghen, Arcanum Weaver deck :) also love Oubliette too but Out of Time is one of my favorite cards in the deck lol such a silly Enchantment!!
Swiftfoot boots is BETTER than greaves sometimes! If your strategy involves equipment, auras, phasing, blinking, targeted protection... you want hexproof and not shroud, otherwise you lock yourself out of your own strategy
Dude Beezy legit has the memory of an elephant. He remembers the episode and the price of the card when they spoke about it 😂 I cant remember what I ate for dinner last night!
Big thanks to the Nitpicking Nerds for highlighting Rooftop Storm. I'll be playing my first game of Commander this week after only playing standard, sealed and pauper previously. I've got a few zombie cards already and I'll definitely be adding Rooftop Storm to those as part of a Commander deck.
First commander game? Oh boy, good luck! I hope it treats you as well as it has me. Aside from the occasional draft, I don't see me going back to other formats lol (although pauper does seem cool).
Good luck! I started out with Commander and never looked back, but have since dipped my toe into modern and pioneer. If you already got the card or are looking to upgrade the Zombie tribal in the future: Rooftop Storm goes infinite with Acererak the Archlich and usually wins you the game on the spot if your opponents got no interaction. Here's a rundown: 1. Cast Acererak for free with Rooftop Storm on the board. 2. Acererak etb says if you haven't completed Tomb of Annihilation, return him to hand and venture into the dungeon. However, it doesn't specify which dungeon so you go into Lost Mine of Phandelver. 3. Cast Acererak over and over, always choosing Dark Pool (ping all opponents for 1 damage and gain 1 life) as the third room of the dungeon. 4. Provided you have more cards in your library than an opponent has life, you win! If not, then you've still sculpted your now massive hand and made a whole lot of Treasures from the other rooms in that dungeon.
I want to mention one of my favourite board clears: Hallowed Burial put all creatures on the bottom of their libraries. nothing dies, nothing goes to the graveyard, it really screws over any deck with reanimations, indestrucbile and so on
IMHO, there are still some decks where Austere Command is better than Farewell. If you're running a preponderance of low cost creatures, sometimes it can be a blowout. I'll agree that in most cases Farewell is better, but you shouldn't count the old champ out yet!
Dig Through Time was reprinted in that Grixis Capenna precon. Felt right in the deck, seeing as how my grave was fairly thicc. The precon's curve feels a little janky, but I still won the only game I've played with it so far. Damnable Pact really hits different when X is 15 and you can copy it FOUR TIMES.
Ghostly Pilferer is WAY better than it looks. It obviously triggers off commanders and is a great discard outlet for reanimator, but beyond that it's getting more useful with every commander product release. With red moving to exile-based draw, UB getting a bunch of ways to cast other players' spells from exile, ways to cast from graveyard (e.g., Gale, Muldrotha, Past in Flames/Underworld Breach), and a bunch of new ways to cast from top of library (Nalia, Korlessa, Augur of Autumn, etc.), it often plays like a Rhystic Study-lite that won't get you hated out of the table. Two of the four face commanders from Baldur's Gate have abilities that trigger Pilferer on top of when they're first cast. Just the other day, I had an opponent cast Jeska's Will exiling then casting Manamorphose, Bloodbraid Elf > Birds of Paradise, Throes of Chaos > Three Visits, retrace Throes > Imperial Recruiter and got a free draw 7. It was great.
Always hear Zulaport compared to blood artist. But blood artist targets an opponent to drain, while affecting all deaths. Cruel celebrant is literally zulaport that cares about planeswalkers too. I know; odd thing to nit pick 😆
2 that i think are really slept on are World Shaper if you want ramp & self mill and Gala greeter in green for just alot of overall value from new Capenna. These cards put in so much lowkey work.
the reason I love Oubliette so much more than other effects like it is that it doesn't double up any ETBs/LTBs! there are too many good ETB effects out there to run O-Rings.
are yall going to do upgrade guides for the baldur's gate precons? Or are the cards mentioned in that video covering all the decks the extent of your suggestions? It's all good either way. Just want to know if I should go look for more suggestions elsewhere.
Those battle for zendikar lands are great budget cards, I like that they keep getting put into precons. I like them even in decks that only have like 8 basics in them, in combination with fetchlands and spells that find basics.
I have a 20 dollar Phylath deck that Geode Ranger has always performed insane in, if I can drop it the turn immediately after Phylath, I usually win the game the next go around the table with massive plants, low life totals and few blockers
I've used almost all those green cards in my Seton, Krosan Protector deck, Thunderfoot Baloth was a terror every time, Soul of the harvest, such a good draw engine in that deck, same with Primordial Sage. another Honorable mention, now that we are talking about Lieutenants, Loyal Guardian is amazing, it says Lieutenant: "at the beginning of combat on your turn, if you control your commander, put a +1/+1 counter on EACH creature you control". in a counters deck or something that is insane. I'm not sure which pricing you are using, if it's tcgplayer, then that's 62 cents for Loyal Guardian.
Soul of the harvest and primordial sage are great in my green deck. I have 6 mana dorks and they are never dead thanks to these cards and similar ones.
Zulaport Cutthroat is strictly better than blood artisit. He is the sherif, blood artist is the deputy. Just saying. Also you guys are the best commander youtube channel. Hands. Down.
I have a jund aristocrat/token deck and was consider buying bitterblossom after the reprint was announced and then I saw this video and discovered loyal apprentice. Until bitterblossom drops to < $5 loyal apprentice is 100% going in. It honestly might just be better
I have a varina zombie deck and whenever i play rooftop storm against people who never encountered it thinks im lying to them when i say what it does. Throw in reflections of litjara, anointed procession and necroduality and youre really cooking with fire
@@anonymoususer5351 i know it sounds bad, but the card velocity in varina is pretty insane, so you can reliably get bolas citadel or rooftop storm. Since all zombies are free at that point what else are you spending mana on? Counter spells and other gross enchantments. But even without any of those the deck does very well
I wouldn't play that card if you gave me 20 cents to run it. Your opponents having the ability to deny you whatever you reveal no matter what is soooooo bad, and even if everyone is low its ability is worse Phyrexian Arena since you're revealing your extra card. Whatever deck you're playing this in, I'd suggest either Reckless Impulse or Price of Progress as much better and still very cheap alternatives to whatever of card advantage or damage you want
@@TheWanderandom damn you're more of a troll than me, I respect that. I was for once trying to offer legitimate advice though. Super glad to see Oubliette here, even in non budget it's super sick, reminds me of old tuck effects. Excited to see Out of Time in the next one too 😉
Love my arabian night's oubliette, got them when it was the only printing.

Loving the way Joe's hair looks today, and Beezy's intro was so anime that it immediately got a smile from me. Keep the work going dudes!

Probably the best series on the channel and it always gets new material

Love to see the Lieutenants! I play them every chance I get. Baloth has definitely been the strongest and most consistent.
I've ended way more games than I ever expected with Thunderfoot Baloth in my Volo "Steve Irwin" deck.
Rooftop Storm recently got nice nearly infinite combo with Acererak
I think Joe is turning into the Moxfield logo :o (i love the color tho❤)
Suture Priest always demands an answer, its one of the top cards in my Phelddagrif
They should bring back lieutenant mechanic already. Actually flavorful
I'd argue that Cutthroat is better than Blood Artist. It hits all opponents instead of just one player at a time

Zulaport Cutthroat is strictly better than blood artisit. He is the sherif, blood artist is the deputy. Just saying. Also you guys are the best commander youtube channel. Hands. Down.
Its not strictly better because blood artist acts a stacks piece against other decks that are doing sacrifice loops
