Always gonna miss my grandpa playing guitar at the dinner table every morning, don’t think I’ll ever hear anyone play like him again, I don’t even know if Robbie could even replicate his style
Takes me back to days in jam-packed gymnasiums on the Rez, wild dances, screaming fans, and thinking my dad is the coolest guy in the world. I miss him wailing on those pipes! Miss you Uncle Panch, Marty and gang...
Wow! I remembered him. Pious, Rob and my uncle Larry were all best friends when they attended BYU. I do have a pic of all of them, when they came to Window Rock. They sure could sing. Wow.

That is my dad singing. He was the lead singer for Sioux Savage. I'll always remember all the shows in Tuba City and the 4 corners area. They have not played together since early 80's.
Pius Whirlwind Soldier's band, The Sioux Savages are reuniting on Sept 10th in Window Rock, AZ for the first ever LEGENDS concert at the Navajo Tribal Fair. Come and support Poncho and his old bandmates, Andrew Grey, Jack Shierholz and Marty DeLand. And if someone knows the whereabouts of Robbie Anslow, please let him know we would love to have him join us.
Where are they performing? I am going to bring my drum to the museum to sing some honor songs for veterans on that day early am, maybe we can open for Sioux Savage later in the day...

Real country, like cool water.
Always loved this song. Just came across this version today. The best cover I've heard. When was this band active? Hard to tell from the comments.
I believe they were active during the mid 70s until early 80s. I seen them play a few times & they put on a good show.
