What thoughtless malice, hitting a helicopter with a laser, pointless and stupid.

It is a federal felony crime. In 2015, another idiot got 14 years in jail after pointing a laser at a Fresno police helicopter.

Kevin S., just because some idiots do not understand how dangerous their actions are for other's safety, it doesn't mean courts should stop carrying out the administration of justice. It is not a "crime", it is a whole set of crimes. That idiot broke a bunch of federal and state laws. He also had a 'significant criminal history, numerous probation violations'.

Just so yall know, this 41 year old adult man committed a crime on both the state and federal level at approx 7:36 pm and was arrested and subsequently released the very next day at 5:44 a.m. on his own recognizance. I just dont get it... How in the hell is this guy released from jail without even having to pony up a single dollar to bail out..... Its a federal crime in the U.S. to aim laser pointer beams at aircraft or their flight path; punishable by up to 5 years in prison and up to $250,000 fine... Nice.. Go make a sensational news announcement on the ocsd.org website but conveniently leave out the details that let the public know what a mockery of justice all of it really is..

Reckless endangerment, potential attempted murder on an officer if the judge thinks you're a jerk

Just because idiots like you do not understand how dangerous your actions are for other's safety, it doesn't mean police should stop enforcing the bunch of federal and state laws. Aiming a laser at an aircraft punishable by up to 5 years in prison (or much more if somebody was hurt), interference with public duties is punishable as well.

Please go watch cockpit videos of lasers being pointed at planes/helicopters before allowing your small brain to take control of your fingers on the internet again.

Hi, I'm sorry to inform you that I never said pointing a laser is harmless. However, I'm saying that 2 cops suv and 4 officers for that ?!? It's tax wasting IMO. But anyway it's your taxes not mine I live in a different country. That being said, I'll continue letting my ''small brain to take control of my fingers'' if you dont mind. Thank you very much.

Dear Spiderus, I am really sorry to read that. Pedophile in the states get a LOT less jail time for a rape than this guy with he's laser. And, for 12 years 154 convicted rapist have been to jail a second time for the same crime after they're released. So maybe these officers have more important things to do than crowding jail with people that point laser. But thats hard work and police do not like hard work! Way more easy to send 2 suv to catch a guy with a laser pointer, send him for 14 years and call that a victory.
      Thank you very much!

Dear shithead Maxime Armand, you hadn't read anything about the case but made your stupid judgments about police work. You even don't know the difference between police and justice. And if you care about kids you would know that the children emergency hospital was involved. If you were not an idiot, you would know that 14 years is too little for the person with 'significant criminal history, numerous probation violations, and Bulldog gang affiliation'. There's no rehabilitation for stupidity. Dangerous idiots like him and you should be kept in jail as long as possible. No thanks to you!
