Imagine a boy sitting on his father's knees asking for a scary story.
"Father, tell me the origin story of Mordor, the dark evil wasteland from which come all evil things upon the world!"
"Well son, let me tell you the story of a man named Waldreg."

Don't mind me just watching the cool stuff from season 1 because I didn't make it this far into it, and I'm actually enjoying season 2 so have to come back for these bits lol

Honestly, this scene was incredibly cool. Despite the physics being off and it being done by a random bartender, it gave me chills as my realization slowly made its way, just like the water. Seeing how the sword had been the key all along to open the dam, releasing the river and letting the water flow through the tunnels. When I saw that mountain, my jaw dropped in sheer awe. That’s when it hit me that this was the plan. I quickly thought to myself that it would trigger a reaction. Massive explosion. Enormous ash cloud covering the landscape. Epic. As for Waldreg, I’m not sure how I feel about him. Adar was supposed to make the final move, but Waldreg took over when things went wrong, and it was interesting to see him grasp the enormity of what he had set in motion. He was just an ordinary guy, a follower of Morgoth, who ended up transforming his homeland into a dark wasteland that would terrorize everything and everyone for millennia.

Yeah, cool vfx, but it's completely illogical lmao. That's simply not how volcanos work, water would only cause an eruption is said volcano was dormant and completely sealed, so it couldn't have an open top. It would erupt because the steam would build pressure inside the sealed volcano until it was too much and it would explode through the rock to release the pressure. But hear they just dump some water it and for some reason it goes off like a fucking nuke. It reality, because it's not sealed, the steam would just escape and nothing would happen. A wet fart would come out of the volcano, not an eruption.

@@Jrdn357not necessarily… the heat is high enough to split water into hydrogen and oxygen which then would recombine explosively (as seen) tbf it would most likely not be enough to crack a volcano open but the explosion which you see isn’t completely illogical
So i think you can apologise this scene … just steam pressure which causes the eruption would be anticlimactic
And well: it ist still a magical world so I think we don’t have to be super focused on physics

I truthfully had no idea the hilt was going to be the key to a Rube Goldberg machine that started Mordor. It caught me so off guard and I loved it.

Yeah the effects are nice but these people have no clue how volcanos work lmao. Nothing in this scene makes any sense especially if you know a lot about volcanos and ash clouds. The temp in that cloud would've been well over 900 degrees. Everyone of those people should've burnt to a crisp. No one should've walked away. Not one soul haha

Stop being crazy, this is no science fiction or something, I mean there are elves that are immortal, gods that live on a nearby island, world created through music , light coming from trees and ur pointing volcanoes dont work like that @@dylansava4082

Another great example of 'turn your brain off and it looks awesome' but at the same time 'turn your brain on and it's painfully dumb'.
