I recognized shuma-gorath from the arcade game MARVEL SUPER HEROES back in 1995. Never realized he had history within the pages of Marvel.

Danm that game is a blast from the past... but this is also the 1st time I saw him was in marvel super heroes it's also the 1st time I came across the infinity stones but there called gems in the game which I think is the original name for the stones
Yeah same I actually thought he was from Calvin he looks like he is at least in that game. In fact looking back at the marvel characters on set it made it seem like cap on didn’t stand a chance of course I don’t recognize all the capcom characters besides the street fighter and mega man

Is Capcom the reason why the MCU cant use Shuma gorath as a name in the new doctor strange movie? They call him gargantos or something.

Great channel. I'm an obsessive Marvel collector and I'm frequently agitated by complete lack of context abd silly mistakes on many comicbook "except' channels. Never see any problems on this channel though, as this guy is the sort of except most others only claim to be.

Japanese Marvel fans really like Shuma-Gorath. Like...REALLY like him.
No, I'm not being cute or snarky (well, maybe a little bit) this guy has a weirdly large fanbase in Japan to the point that despite being a B lister by the most generation definition he showed up in a huge chunk of Capcom's marvel fighters for no other real reason. They even fought to include him in MvK3 as DLC even after conceding to marvel refusing to let them use more popular chemicals like Venom. Why? Hell if I know YOU figure it out, I'm just the messenger.
With all this talk about Conan the Barbarian, maybe you should do a video about Conan in the Marvel Universe.

What do you think is the best thing about Shuma-Gorath in the comics and what do you think he is going to be like when he makes his MCU debut in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness as seen in the trailer who everyone else claims to be Gargantos? What would happen if he had the powers to turn into a mortal wizard so that he could evenly fight against Doctor Strange?
I heard they had to change the name due to rights issues. From what we've seen in the trailer it appear this version may be a very weak manifestation used as a throwaway villain, but I hope I'm wrong.
At this point it’s well-known the monster in Multiverse of Madness was not Shuma but Gargantos, who is smaller and much weaker. If it were Shuma, it would have required the combined efforts of the Avengers and Strange to at least banish him back to his own dimension.
Please Please Please Please do the history of the spy Marvel Comics Character Dakota North, or also possibly the X-Men Villain character known as Nanny from the Uncanny X-Men Marvel Comics Series Please Please!
