- Let's celebrate Walt Disney World's anniversary at Magic Kingdom by exploring & dining at an opening day restaurant, Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn & Cafe! On October 1, 2024, Magic Kingdom's birthday, we'll try Pecos Bill new menu, run into some friends, and then I'll take you on a deep dive to find tons of hidden details and easter eggs, gifts from Pecos Bill's famous wild west friends like Davy Crockett, Casey Jones, Annie Oakley, Buffalo Bill, The Lone Ranger and more! If you're a fan of Disney Imagineering, Magic Kingdom history, or the Wild West, I hope you love this as much as I do, and enjoy exploring the secrets! One of the last vestiges of old Frontierland, and an opening day staple, with a fresh new delicious menu for 2024, Pecos Bill has become a favorite for Magic Kingdom quick service dining for me once again (even though one favorite thing is not back), and I really enjoy sharing this tour with you! So happy birthday to Magic Kingdom and to Walt Disney World and hopefully for many years to come! Enjoy!

I'm super enthused about the new food offerings at Pecos Bill's. I love all the theming in there.
I do love some good Tex-Mex food. Those dishes looked delicious. Clever items scattered around to create that old west atmosphere. Widow Maker’s bridle was a nice touch. That whole restaurant is a blast from the past.
I walked right past that place when I was there. 1971 was a good year btw. My favorite one.
There's just so many dang places at Magic Kingdom, it's hard to see them all.
This was great. I enjoy the variety you bring to your videos. I enjoy the rides, but I also love the quiet places at Disney parks where you can explore the details and beauty around you. And those new dishes looked like nice portions that will fill you up.

@@SuperEnthused yes, we took it for granted, as I took for granted Tom Sawyer Island. However, I love the Rivers of America and the Lillie Belle. I shall miss all of those things when Frontierland 2.0 drops! 🤔😔

Happy 53rd Anniversary Walt Disney!!! I am always impressed on how knowledgeable you are. I really appreciate that. You always give us some interesting facts. I ate one time at pickles Bill, they had some really good nachos. It was when they had the condiment bar, I was so impressed with that condiment bar. It was definitely crowded in there, but I got a seat in on of the corners. When I go to Disney, I’m always rushing to get rides done, so I never stopped to look at the small things. that’s why I always appreciate your videos because you point out things that I overlook. It’s always nice when you run into friends, I was just waiting for Promise to say “Where’s yours Travis, where’s yours” she cracks me up, she always says that when she is really enjoying her food. I haven’t been to Disney in two years, I’m very sad, but I’ve been doing a lot of other traveling. I have a small trip plan to Disneyland next year, it’s a really quick trip, but I’ve never been to Disneyland and I’m very excited. Thanks for this great video, I really appreciate all the information you share.

Pecos Bill's wad always a must visit for us as we loved the Tacos, they changed the menu a few years ago, then changed it back, I hope the Tacos 🌮 come back
Yea I didn’t love that middle menu as much and I’m glad they improved it now! It used to be my go to.

Remember reading those old stories probably at around third to fifth grade. Still have a vivid memory of an illustration of Paul Bunyun's pancake griddle being greased by little cooks with strips of fat tied to their feet like skis. Always thought that Goody would have made a good Pecos Bill character short. Thanks for the old school content. Good idea to do a video that takes a look back on the birthdays. Disney plus should do that too. 🚂
I loved this video! The "old school" details get overlooked by people hurrying from place to place. Heading back later this week, and I'm going to definitely stop in Pecos Bill's to see in person before they make changes. John Henry was the legendary figure that battled a railroad spike machine through a tunnel and actually won though he died at the end of the challenge. The story is being told over and over because it’s a testament of John Henry’s great strength and tenacity.we use a spike machine today but to nail down loose ones.

I love the chili con queso burgers from Pecos Bill 😮💨🔥
Annie Oakley was a legendary sharpshooter and lived till age 66. Her original name is Phoebe Ann Mosey. The wolves are actually the Abram Boose family who mistreated her. She learned to shoot out of needing to survive and sold game to the hotels. She actually joined the legendary buffalo bill in 1885 after marrying Frank butler. They never had kids though her tooth was taken for DNA and analyzing it gave us a massive hormonal shift earlier in her life rendering her barren. She retired from the stage but returned in 1894 on a film reel. She actually returned in a surprise to buffalo bill’s and shot out many targets in her advanced age, she revealed who she was when she shot the targets. She died in 1926 of an anemia attack. Her rifle is on display in Ohio or Indiana I believe in a museum. Her signature rifle is a model 1856 Winchester repeater, classic weapon and one that’s classified as antique firearm so it’s legal to own.

The Pecos restaurant looks super adorable it reminds me of toy story woody cowboy 🤠🐴🐴 themed a lot the interior looks super good there’s so much decor it’s fantastic,, I’m definitely inspired by the Wild West 🏜🏜I also can’t wait for the new cars land to reopen at the Magic Kingdom it would be really exciting & plus it would really blend in Fortire land & rivers of America 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

loved this video, & will make a stop into pecos on my next trip, that dish looked so good! I also really like learning more of the story and details, could be a mini series (places like Casey's, other main st. shops, etc!) Also if your 7 year anniversary hasn't passed, another cool idea could be showing your favorite 7 things (whether its an attraction, meal, resort, activity) across wdw property! hope you enjoy the day :)

I really enjoyed this video! I've visited Pecos Bill's several times and never noticed these details. When they started building Tiana's Bayou Adventure, I wondered if they would turn this into Tiana's Palace like at Disneyland. Now I hope they don't!
I wonder too, and I think it’s inevitable that it will be changed at some point. So I’m glad I at least able to document this 🧡
P.S. the rooms inside are called siesta (the one that’s kind of dark lol), corral 1, corral 2, and widowmaker - from a former pecos CM 🙂🐴
Jackie, my daughter and I are coming down on Black Friday for our Universal trip. She wants to see the Christmas stuff and the Grinch show at Universal. But on December 1st we are going to the Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. It will be our first time to that. We are planning on eating at Pecos Bill's and try the new menu items. Looking forward to that. The last time we ate there, we got those fajita/tacos, and we weren't impressed with them. I have watched a couple of other people that have had the new menu, along with yours and it all looks really good.

Davy Crockett was not exactly an explorer, he was just a boy who was indentured but escaped. He became a senator and fought in the battle of the Alamo against Santa Anna but he was killed. He was cremated although his ashes are in a box but it’s not exactly a done deal as the ashes could be from the others as all of them were cremated. It’s still a mystery if it’s really him.

The pandemic killed the toppings bars, and I think they just decided to save money by not bringing them back afterwards. I miss the one in Cosmic Ray’s as well.

We don’t know what they’ll do to Pecos Bill, but surely it doesn’t match the new vision so we’ll see. Maybe it’ll stay!
Where are the people? When ever I went to Pecos Bills it was difficult to find a seat.
It’s less busy on days when there is an after hours event like the night of this video. People save their money by going to the event later on.
there were lots of people, I was just very patient and waited a long time to get my shots. I waited for each area to clear as best I could and did one area at a time :) but also yes, on days when there's a Halloween party at night, MK is usually less crowded during the day.
Did Pecos Bills get rid of the chili in a frito bag?

We tried the new chicken nachos and chicken rice bowl and both unfortunately were horrible. 😮😢
Aw that’s a shame. Glad I tried the beef then! But it’s all subjective so I’ll still try the chicken one day myself to see.
