Mr. West’s words was the most real and sincere out of everyone else’s interviews or social posts. Very nice to hear such genuine words from someone who actually knew him.
Parents who have lost their children have said burying a child is one of the worse experiences in the world. Praying for his parents and siblings as well.
Yes lost my son 33 years old . It's an constant ache pain hurt and your chest constantly hurts. If you are not careful you really can die of an broken heart. 😢
The divorce rate when a couple loses a child is near the 100% tile. The mental illness that comes when you bury a child is also right up there near the 100% tile. We hope and pray for her and her children. They'll never be a normal for her again.
Chollie s Yes it is I lost my daughter in 2009 & I think of her every day.She was only 37 yrs old and left 3 kids.God is the only one who can bring you through something like this My heart is broken for his entire family 💔🙏
@@rosettascott8549 Wow, Rosetta, I am so sorry. I am born the youngest of 16 and we are down to eight. When my parents were still alive they had already experienced losing one to full term miscarry, one at 2 years old, one at, 21, one at 29. My dad passed 18 years after my mom and lost four more that took us to 8. It is very heart breaking. In 1999, I had a near death experience from a tragic car accident and I shared the experience with some that gave them great peace.

No celebrity death has ever hit me like Kobe Bryant’s death did, absolutely heartbreaking. I been watching all of the emotional interviews and shed some tears for the worlds greatest, a true legend! Kobe’s name and legacy will live on forever and true legends never die! #RIPKobe #WorldsGreatest #8 #24 #MambaOut
*ReBeCca Jane* Yes indeed. I keep saying to myself “stop watching the videos” because I keep 😢. Seeing all these grown men crying is definitely taking me out.
Kobe had the most infectious smile. Just listening to him talk his eyes would light up and his smile would just spread across his face. We were so blessed to experience the ball player and the man. Seeing him as a father you knew that he had a get role model. My prayers go out to his wife and children as well as to his parents and sisters. As well as all the other families. God rest their souls.
Respect to this man, Jerry West. He obviously loved, cared, and is just genuinely compassionate. How can you not shed a tear listening to him speak of Kobe... Thank you Jerry for your words of love and kindness. R.I.P. Kobe and Gianna
God bless Kobe parents, regardless to what, his mother sacrificed her life to bring him into this world, no material things, nor money amounts to what a real mother stands for. (Rip to Kobe and his daughter)
That only applies to the good mothers. There are moms who kill their own children. So, I'm with you up until a point. Thank goodness Kobe's mom loved him and raised him well.
Corie Barnes Yes, very true. Just think that his dad paved the way for him because he was a pro basketball player, and his parents took him to Italy, where he later learned to speak fluent Italian. His mom named him, and of course had him. So he owed them a lot, and for them to have not even been mentioned during the memorial service is bullshit. I don’t like the girl he married at all. And this Kobe would not have been who he was had it not been for his parents.
It's okay to cry Mr. Jerry West.. We've ALL cried and we didn't KNOW him like You did! My prayers are with everybody hurting, but especially His friends and family and the other families involved. May God be with them.🙏💕

My heart goes out to Jerry West to see how you feel about Kobe I know Kobe was like a son to him my heart goes out to Kobe family and the people who have lost their loved one
Yes! Isn't it I been saying that since he has been speaking, and looks good he must of had a good life maybe treated black folks good back in the day because he is living a very fruitful long life like god promises
Their deaths is the most talked about in South Africa. Our social media is full of their tragedy. We are so hurt and disturbed by this. May all their souls rest in eternal peace. God bless his family
First name Last name It's not really sad. Kobe was a celebrity. Most people probably wouldn't have even heard of this crash had he not been on it. I still see and hear their names mentioned. I don't know why people are so insulted that more people knew who Kobe Bryant was than the other people on the helicopter. Of course more people know who he was.
It's sad that it takes a death to say you love your son. Too bad they didn't say that when Kobe was alive. Instead they sold his precious memorabilia and turned down Kobe's gift for them for raising him which was a million dollar house.
Josie Huslloimea Actually his parents were left with nothing. They have no rights to his money. It’s that chick who he was married to, she gets it all. His folks were right about disagreeing with him getting married. No kid in their early 20’s at the height of their career need to be thinking about marriage. So I’m not mad at his parents for not showing up at that wedding. He was much too young. And I believe their was no prenup signed by this girl, let alone such a thing discussed between the two. As I said, his chick gets it all.
Probably never😔 I went to a funeral yesterday of a man who lived a full life and had 11 grandkids and 8 great grandkids and I could only think of the 9 nines taken too soon from this world who made it a better place. The more I hear about Kobe and Gianna the more sad I become because they contributed so much to society and gave back so much. My niece had a volleyball game at Gianna Bryant's school (Harbor Day) same day as the funeral. I'm reminded everywhere I turn of those lives lost. I can't even watch basketball without feeling sad. I haven't felt passionate about my Lakers since Kobe retired. The person he was upon retirement was even more remarkable and we wont get to see that and his daughters will have to grow up not being raised by someone who gave 100 who loved them unconditionally and his wife wont have him by her side. Just hurts my heart. It's not the way I ever imagined someone so great like him leaving this world with his daughter, the next mamba, Mambacita. Seems unfair and I've yet to find any peace about what happened to him and his daughter and their friends.
Rachel Anne damn, I know it’s worse for all of you in LA. I’m from Philly, where we booed him for years because of something he said in the 2001 Finals but in his last game here, we finally let him hear the cheers and it makes me feel good knowing it meant so much to him to hear the cheers of his home crowd. I’m so sry for your loss and I hope someday we all can wrap our minds around this crazy tragedy.
This is devastating, I lost my my mom who was a gym teacher and didn’t appreciate how much sports means to us, here was a guy who got it and wanted to pass it on, just heart breaking
I didn't know Kobe personally and sorry was not a big sports fan but wow this is too much for me. I'm going through some tough stuff at the moment, dealing with two sick and elderly parents, aunt's and uncles are sick and elderly now death of such a young man who has impacted so many people. I heard about the accident about 45 minutes into my work shift and could not believe it! Everybody knows the name Kobe! RIP Kobe and Gigi

Encouraging everyone to do/be their best by his intelligence, will to teach & lead by DEDICATED EXAMPLE' of BEING a strong Black Man, Father, Athlete, author, friend etc that We are so, so proud of knowing. In our lifetime lets cherish our exposure to His Greatness & humananity. Memorials are needed to further impact his legacy... missed ALREADY...
I totally agree it's as if I lost a brother a son and a child...I know this pain first hand all we can do is thank the Lord Jesus Christ for lending them to us for the time they were be allotted for this life...and thank him even more for the Paradise they will be resting in eternity. Im so sorry for the ones who are left behind to greive.
This man is a gentleman in every sense of the word. When you care for people you are in their corner no matter what. You celebrate their success, and you are with them when things go south. Sounds like this is the relationship was reciprocal.
My heart is so heavy. We will never forget you Kobe, and Gianna. Hearing Jerry speak of Kobe, you can tell how much he cared and loved him. RIP to all 9 who lost their lives last Sunday. My prayers are with the families. 💔🙏
Someone needs to keep and eye on Vanessa and the kids... and also the other folks that were in in this tragic fatal death ....a love death can be very depressing and sometimes the devil gets in your head... it took me two years and a half an I’m still emotional thinking about mine. I hope and pray that everyone is around positive love ones!!!! My heart goes out to all that were effected in this nightmare fatal death.
it feels unreal. Kobe was such a good, positive, lighthearted guy. He was an amazing player, and an amazing dad. He loved his family so much. Thank you Kobe for getting me into the game of basketball. RIP Kobe and Gigi Bryant.
Jerry hit it right on the head when he talked about those who criticized him for shooting too much! These same people are now praising him. What hypocrites!!
Thank you, Mr. West. I've been taught by my very astute husband that you wear most honorable worthiness. There are some wonderful pictures painted by the most human moments that are captured on today 's waves of communication's avenues. May you be wrapped in a blanket of comfort while you walk your hours of pain
@voitdive He had his own foundation for families in need not to mention him donating millions to other foundations such as "make a wish foundation" and cancer foundations. Before you try to minimize someone's honor What have you accomplished in comparison bruh? Not a damn thing. So Stfu and mind yo damn business and continue worry about what YOU are trying to accomplish whatever that is. You probably just mad nobody wont give a damn when you kick the bucket.
Kobe was one year younger than me. Everything becomes real when people your age start to die. Tragic. Surreal seeing people who are older than him talk about him in the past tense. He was underappreciated when he was alive, as hard as that sounds. Now everyone is realizing what they lost.
I’m still stunned at this tragedy. I’m a father. A father of a little girl. I cannot imagine those final moments with your child. I listen to Jerry West and I cry. It’s like he lost his son. He knew Kobe when he was a kid. Kobe was my generations only mega athlete super star. He was my age. He was my generations Jordan. Kobe doesn’t die! This is a sobering reality that tomorrow is not promised to anyone! No matter who you are. Love life. Love your loved ones. Try your best. Teach your children to try their best...always...never short change yourself. If you lose you lose! Just give it your ALL!
Respect for jerry west, the man that believed in Kobe and traded for him... RIP Mamba and Gigi! #8/24/2 and all the others who also lost their lives on this tragic accident.
Your chances of surviving a plane crash or copter is very slim some don’t survive car crashes just never know when it comes to death it doesn’t discriminate.
In a blink of an eye *RICH OR POOR* its all gone! Like Billy said, we need to stop the hate, *LEFT OR RIGHT* We all bleed the same colour!! God Bless the Bryant Family, and everyone that died Sunday morning!!
Fathers protect their children, especially their daughters, and it breaks my heart that Kobe could not protect his daughter from this tragedy. RIP Kobe and Gianna.
@@blessedk77 THIS. I Have noticed so many people are quick to mention "the seven others" and, of course, Vanessa and her children but I haven't seen that same energy when it comes to his parents who raised him and his sibling who grew up with him. That cuts just as deep if not more.

Hope you can check them out.
I want to take time to pray for his parents. I have heard they were not close anymore , but I am a mom. I cannot even process the thought of losing one of my children. carol marcos Kobe wasn’t speaking to his parents and siblings! He got to big headed and would never make amends with his flesh & blood! If it wasn’t for them, there wouldn’t be a Kobe! Very heartbreaking that his parents never got to work out their differences & Vice versa! Life is too short! No matter what his parents lost their child and grandchild ! Don’t judge, all families have problems, but money gets in the way and people start acting nasty! They will be devastated because they never got to reconcile! Such a shame ! I pray that his wife includes them and gives the respect to tell their son & granddaughter goodbye! 🙏🏾
KObe CHOSE his family ( his wife and children). His parents did not approve of his marriage. They didn't attend his wedding. They also didn't attend his final game. He took care of his parents and it wasn't good enough! They also tried to sell some of his special trophies that he gifted them! Kobe sued them. MEN ARE TO LEAVE THEIR MOTHER And FATHER AND CLEAVE TO THEIR WIFE! Kobe was being the best father and husband. Kobe was married for 18 YEARS. Sometimes family can meddle and they forget that everyone is allowed to have boundaries and children don't owe their families NOTHING.
Nacculate Vassell don’t judge him, he believes in Islam and I’m a Muslim myself. I don’t believe that Jesus died neither he is God or son. But I believe he was a prophet sent out to mankind for a message but I believe that he will come at the end of times. I believe that God is only one no one else other than him.

My heart also pours out to all of the families and especially for the parents of any person on that plane. I also know what it feels like to lose your child. God bless his parents, Gigi's mom and all of the families.
Well said. I watched the memorial at the staples center and found it interesting Shaq or Michael didn't mention them. You would hope sudden death would erase trivial grievances...
I cried, have never met Kobe in person. But my heart was bleeding... He was an amazing superhuman. His actions and energy transcended to us all. We LOVE YOU KOBE!!!!!! R.I.P TO ALL WHO LOSS THEIR LIVES IN THIS ACCIDENT. LOVE FROM CANADA
What a respectful an honest interview...not the fake feelings we see too much. This man is heartbroken but still manages to find the words and truly pay the respect he has for Kobe. It is heartwrenching. Thank you for your words !!
For his parents to be grieving it is such an unfathomable nightmare that nobody should ever have to experience. I lost my mom in June 2016 and her parents especially her mother were crushed and heartbroken and since that day they have never been the same. Every phone call i've had with my grandma since we always talk about my mom because it is important for us to keep her memory alive. Which became even more vital once my grandma was diagnosed with dementia in 2018 because as her memory begins to slip i always want her to share stories of what my mom was like as a little girl to her
This must be especially hard for his parents since they were not on speaking terms for years. I really hope they amended that relationship before he passed.
I’m certain he was hoping Kobe would speak at his funeral, not the other way around. God bless all involved, and there’s a lot of people.
They were estranged for years.

That only applies to the good mothers. There are moms who kill their own children. So, I'm with you up until a point. Thank goodness Kobe's mom loved him and raised him well.

Yes, very true.

Green Mountain Brownie sad everyone starts off with “ Kobe and his daughter “
First name Last name
It's not really sad. Kobe was a celebrity. Most people probably wouldn't have even heard of this crash had he not been on it. I still see and hear their names mentioned. I don't know why people are so insulted that more people knew who Kobe Bryant was than the other people on the helicopter. Of course more people know who he was.
God bless Kobe's parents Lord knows what they are going through, and his sister's. Lord give them some type of peace through the mourning 🙏
Amen
It's sad that it takes a death to say you love your son. Too bad they didn't say that when Kobe was alive. Instead they sold his precious memorabilia and turned down Kobe's gift for them for raising him which was a million dollar house.
Josie Huslloimea
Actually his parents were left with nothing.
“To lead is to serve.” This is a great man. A spiritual man with compassion and a selfless character.

I’m so sry for your loss and I hope someday we all can wrap our minds around this crazy tragedy.

carol marcos Kobe wasn’t speaking to his parents and siblings!
Christian _person Kobe got big headed ? That’s false dude go do some research and see why they were beefing since he was a teenager. Pretty sad story.
Chey- enne thank you for sharing the truth.
Kobe and Gianna, now you will always remain young and vibrant as your last day on earth, while we all grow old.
"Indeed, to God we belong and to God we shall return."
Make the right choice, Heaven or hell. Choose Jesus and you will make it into Heaven.
Muslims always say this when someone dies.
#AllALONE 🙏🏽😔
Nacculate Vassell don’t judge him, he believes in Islam and I’m a Muslim myself. I don’t believe that Jesus died neither he is God or son. But I believe he was a prophet sent out to mankind for a message but I believe that he will come at the end of times. I believe that God is only one no one else other than him.
I hope Vanessa and Kobe’s parents are together at this time . It helps with trauma to grief together. Prayers up 🙏🏽
Don't think so..they dont get along
The L.Z Show death has a way of making people realize what really matters! I really hope they make amends.
@@sammiedarden6941 I agree
What a kind kind man. It hurts to see his sadness. I wish I could take away this pain and terrible losses.
Sandra A I know he is genuine
This was so emotional yet inspiring at the same time ! “The spotlight should be on the lead and not the leader.” Simply powerful! God bless all the deceased’s family and friends. 🙏🏽🙏🏽
They should build a Kobe Bryant statue in front of staples center for his legacy’s.
Eddie Lin it was already in the making before this happened
Matthew Anthony 😂
Matthew Anthony
Duh! It’s where Kobe kept his horses.
Matthew Anthony 😂😂😩
Eddie Lin YES THEY SHOULD!
This is his healing process ..sharing his moments at this time ..I feel his heart ..an soul💔🙏
Keep his parents in prayer I know how they feel losing a child . There would be NO KOBE if it hadn’t been for them FACTS
Very emotional for Jerry West and as fans of Kobe we humbly thank you for agreeing to this interview. 🌈
fans of Kobe, we should all understand that Jerry West was a legend of the game too!
Yes. I feel sad too, never met the man, only felt his impact. What a huge loss! 😔😭😭😭
@@ecclairmayo4153 Why weren't they on speaking terms???
EcClair Mayo the news said he was trying to repair the relationship
I am very sorry to hear about your mom. I was never close to my parents but I feel your pain.
EcClair Mayo I certainly hope so. 🙏🏼
It felt so painful to hear about Kobe's death, i wish him and his beautiful daughter to rest in peace!! You always be remembered!! Love you Kobe!!
His voice is so emotional. He actually loved Kobe. Sad💔💔
I just feel so bad for everyone left.
I hope they can find peace sooner rather than later.
