Mountain Hardware Summit Grid Hoodie with or without 1/2 zip, has side sinch cord lock, scuba hood and kangy pockets like Melly, plus cord lock sinch cord at bottom hood. Better than any of those in video. Bought one on sale tonight for $58. Usually $85. Poly not wool which pills on Mellys, I saw on RUclips reviews.

I haven't had any of the fabric pill on a melly. What review had this listed? Also, if you want a heavier one, like the Melly Wind Pro, I'd suggest the AKHG Thaw Depth Pullover Hoodie by Duluth Trading Company. It's currently on sale for $44.99...and the pockets have zippers.

Great info Greg! We knew with the changes Melanzana made would make it impossible for us to get one. Been studying a lot of other options.

Thank you. Good and helpful information. Two other options are the Burgeon Highlander Hoodie and the Lightheart Gear fleece hoodie. 🙂

What a great idea for a video. I have always wondered about the options…I will never be able to get to Colorado to buy one of these. Thanks for the options. Crow✌️

Sounds like a nice alternative. Thumb holes absolutely rock.

@@gregmortonoutdoors I honestly think I invented thumb holes as I used to put them in all my sweaters and jackets. Then they started showing up. I knew I should’ve patented them. I’ve bought one for my husband and 4 altogether for me. I really love them. I also just bought the tonight that they make.❤️‍🔥

I had to make Leadville a pre-planned stop on my annual anniversary road trip. Scheduled my stop 3 months early and got in the moment they opened. Crazy, but that's the only way to get these items.

I checked their calendar last week and they were over a month out for appointments. Unfortunately Leadville and the local area only has so many people they can hire for sewing. Last time we were there the pay was $19 per hour and that was a year ago.

They have a military high loft gen 3 also , very tough, has the hand pockets , breathes very well but if in windy conditions, u need to use another layer

The original black version was pretty decent but the next generation in the gray/green color was thinner and not as good. Typical military procurement and the lowest bidders.

@@gregmortonoutdoors wish that gen 3 I have had a hood built in it , but they make a nice baklava by OR that seems to fill in the blank , and then wear the gen 3 ninja suit (next to skin base layer)

    The policies are always evolving.
As I write this, I believe you can make a reservation online for a shopping appointment. So at least these days a person could be on one of those longer through hikes and be able to hit Leadville to shop.
Personally, I am looking forward to driving out there and running in one of the races this summer and I'm already asking if anyone else wants me to try to pick them up a hoodie. The limit is 2 per customer, I believe.
