The activism against women abuse at the end of the video #POWA happened a year ago yet today (2019) we still experiencing this and it is growing... women and children are vulnerable daily. Every minute of every second 😢😢
Sizwe is so extreme. In Kenya they are called Sacco and they work excellently.

Yes we have Saccos for everything..teachers, women etc. They have rules and regulations and are registered by the government. They allow those who can’t access credit in banks to borrow amongst themselves. Some now even operate like banks, with tellers etc. Another institution that has now grown to a commercial bank in Kenya is Housing Finance. They started off as a mortgage institution, a lot of employed people in the middle class access property at reasonable rates including saving for property.
We now have merry-go-round also called chamas mostly among women. They collect money and invest, loan amongst themselves and do a lot of social activities together- mostly among people who know each other.
I understand Sizwe’s hesitancy. The investors need to be protected by law.

I don't like this - I just had an offer to put a certain amount, for low monthly fee for 6 months with a group of people I don't know! To buy a property I have no power nor authority of what goes and what doesn't. My mom used to do Stokvel with women in her community, they knew each other and they knew each others issues. Rules and regulations were clear right from the start...What they are doing now is wrong, people are not owning these properties since it is all about putting money to get dividends (of when the property sells)...I am not saying all stokvel are bad, but not all of them are good either, ask questions before you put in your money!
