It's hard to comment on this, but it was beautiful to see him just talking and then to hear him playing...thanks for posting it. We're lost some great musicians this year, and Dave is right at the top of the list.
Just discovered him through the Buddy Rich's Disneyland concert in the eighties. His skill, feel and energy on the bass simply blew my mind. I feel a little stupid being late on this, but also happy to hear from such a great musician anyway. He left us really early but seemed to have enjoyed life through his passin.

If I recall correctly, Carol Kaye said he was the best 6-String bass player she's ever heard. I think on her website she mentions him.
