  • Comparing the Dexibell Vivo S9 against the Nord Piano 4 (which is virtually identical to the Nord Grand). A must see for anyone interested in either of these keyboards! Awesome Organ Engine in the Dexibell Vivo S9 !!
See the full Dexibell S9 review here: • Dexibell Vivo S9 - Ove...

NOTE: The "German Grand Platinum" sample used in the Dexibell S9 is actually modeled from a Bechstein grand piano!

I came for 3:40 -4:30. Awesome keyboards though. Whiter Shade of Pale intro is also one of my favorites. Actually the Sarah Brightmans intro is way more intense than Procols ( different times). But the song itself belongs to Procol Harum by far. I was with Tony Sansone when he wrote Walk Away Renee (fun fact) What a long story that is.
Anyway, I’m alone with my cat who’s sleeping and needed a place to gab
Thanks for listening ( if you gotten this far). “Forgotten” is a superlative piece that belongs in a movie or something grand.
Maybe in your spare time you can do some variations?
Stay well, stay safe my friend. We love your videos!!

Cool, Bro - you've got mentioned by Luigi through his LinkedIn.
Thanks, too! My office selling both of them under different divisions competing all the way - also with Roland. Fatar keyboard also used to be quite common with Roland in the olden days.

Being a musician since dinosaurs roamed and having owned MANY instruments, cars, and things one factor I've learned that is important when choosing what to buy is what is the resale value down the road. As great as somethings are if they lose their value take a big drop they weren't a good deal. Nord has made quite a name for itself and resale on used Nords is good. Dexibell are excellent products but what's the resale market like for them. Plus just showing up to a gig and pulling out a Red Nord you have won some cool points from the musicians in the room.

Yup. I see your point. But I think these days it depends are the group and of course their age. Us older 39 year olds (😂) don’t get impressed so easily as the younger. Back in my day if you had even a Gretsch or Gibson you were the most popular guy in the neighborhood . Now if you don’t show up in a Bentley you’re just another guy. Good point ! 👍

@@DaraM73 Hi Dara, Honestly I know very little about them. BUT I am glad that there is someone older than me in this room !! I'm in my 70's and I actually come here to see and hear Chucks vids, compositions and his non-bias views with these instruments. I own a sub $1000 Kawaii keyboard and the only reason I bought it was because of this station. The Kawai is actually fantastic for the price ( I originally bought a no name which is sitting in another room unloved).
Bottom line? "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder". Some people will say the opposite of what you're saying. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I think that's why Chuck never pushes people to buy a specific instrument. However if I were going to buy a keyboard I would definitely try out the Yamaha you mentioned. You seem to know your stuff!!
Have a wonderful Happy and Healthy Thanksgiving ( if we can all do at this trying time).

I tried to like Dexibell but the pianos just didn’t sound all that special to me, and many of the other sounds were just mediocre. I ended up selling - luckily I had already bought at a greatly reduced second hand price on eBay. The reality just didn’t match the hype in my experience.

Isn't the vivo more like the competition to the electro 6?

Vivo is first and foremost a piano with 88 wooden keys, Electro 6 is definitely not for pianists.

The reason I bought a Nord Piano 4 is precisely because it does NOT have an organ function with draw bars etc. The clue is in the name - it’s a stage piano. Buy a Nord Stage if you want to have that. However, as a performing pianist I wish someone like Kawai would produce a decent stage controller kbd with no internal sounds but with a facility enabling loading of your own vst sounds such as Pianoteq. Stage pianos like these will be dead within a couple of years as what’s the point in being stuck with the same sounds when vst ‘s do it much better? Also, playing in a sweaty club with people talking together and all the other background noises etc - no one could care a flying fxxk as to whether you’ve got 128 note or unlimited polyphony etc etc, Elton still uses a an ancient MKS20 module in conjunction with a first gen motif module midi’d to his grand as together they ‘cut through’ the mix on stage. That, along with a decent action, is all that matters.
