The B&W PX7 S2e are absolutely amazing, really loving the sound, quality and design. No pressure on my ears at all. I really recommend these headphones. I have the air pods pro 2 but these are on another level when it comes to sound. Glad I got these!
what music you listened to, am thinking in buying them my preferences is heavy metal hard rock classic any opinion thanks sir.
@@elyado1 im late but for other people looking for an answer these are pretty nice for every type of music for a normal consumer, you can turn the bass up if you prefer rap but the sound is very balanced for metal if you keep the settings neutral, these are great in my opinion
I own the regular Bose QuietComfort as well as the B&W Px7 S2e headphones and both have their pros and cons. Bose just nails it with comfort and ANC, whereas B&W clearly has the better build quality, superior sound, with one major advantage being that they have an in-built DAC that allows them to be connected via USB-C for audio output. The Bluetooth audio quality is already very good, but connecting them via USB-C takes audio to another level. Some might argue that using BT headphones in wired mode somehow defeats the purpose, but for my use case (video work + editing), this feature is just perfect. The clamping force is a bit tighter than with the Boses, so for extended hearing sessions or meetings at work I prefer the Boses over the B&Ws. If you are looking for excellent sound and premium design though, go for the B&Ws for sure!
Just sold my Px7 S2 and got the QC Ultra. The B&W sound was great, but I didn’t like the ANC, didn’t like that they are not really foldable, didn’t like the tiny buttons and didn’t like the App. I often had connectivity issues. So, in the end the sound alone was not good enough to make a good package. The Px8 are build-wise similar. That’s why for me, Bose.
I had connectivity issues as well! I wonder if they fixed that on the S2e's?
I’m stuck between these two. Ordered both and plan to return one but retailer just told me that in order to return one I can’t open them? Anyways, feature wise Bose stand out but I feel battery is little short and you can’t use them while charging and another potential issue is that you can’t turn off anc? Sound wise how big of a difference it is please?
@@dariuszwojcik1601 soundwise I would say, the Px7S2 are better. The Bose are more like a workhorse for me, sound is great, just not breathtaking. But they are light as well and ANC over the top. I can afford only one pair of headphones, so Bose made it because of the overall package.
I chose the Bose QuietComfort Ultra Over-Ear Wireless Headphones.
Appreciate you making this video man it's kind of frustrating that so little content is being made on the PX7S2e's. I actually just went ahead and bought them so I might make some content of my own with them soon.
I tried the Sony XM5 and the Momentum 4s. The S2e blows both headphones out of the water in terms of build quality, sound quality and comfortability. If those are your biggest reasons for buying new headphones, B&W does not disappoint
@@edswayzeI have B&W PX from 2017 and Sony XM4, PX are so much older, but the sound quality is night and day better than XM4. I ordered PX7 S2e and will have them tomorrow. Can't wait!
@@_Mario_PL_ nice dude, I hope you got them for a good price with Black Friday sales, enjoy you won’t regret it!
@@edswayze Sure did, $349
I think the price is more than right. Thanks, will do for sure.
@@_Mario_PL_ , I have the chance to get the Px7 S2 (not ‘e’) for the same price as the XM4… at $229 from Costco
Should I stay with the S2 or get the XM4 from Sony?
I cannot justify another $100 for XM5. I have considered the Sennheiser M4 - but they are more money… like $50 more.
I use headphone for music not phone calls. I always want a pair of Bowers and Wilkins because they just look luxurious and great style. I just brought a pair on sale for $249 and love them.
Thanks for the review, very helpful. Although, gotta say, I very much think about call quality when choosing a headset. Only reason I switched from my XM3s was the call quality. Gotta answer when work calls!
I would suggest doing a small segment where you record the call quality on the devices so you can hear first hand the differences.
Thanks for the feedback and you make a valid point for sure!
I've currently got the XM3's, and I'm looking to upgrade. Can I ask what you switched to? The call quality has been one of my only gripes with the XM3's over the years...
I just tested both sides by side like 30 times listening to the same song... could barely tell a diffrence. The B&W are a little crisper and cleaner. But the bose noise canceling is miles ahead! The build quality of B&W is heavier metal and rugged, making the bose feel a little cheap in comparison. Overall if a strong build and slightly better sound is worth more to you than amazing noise cancelination go for B&W. But I think the bose is a better deal, it's cheaper and nearly identical in sound and has better noise canceling! Oh and better base when turned up all the way!
Got a pair of Px7 s2e’s. Great improvement over mainstream headphones. The H95 beats both tho
H95s are 1k headphones though. I would hope they’d be better for that price!
It doesn't I prefer px7s2e to h95
I am a b testing these two and as of now I’m leaning towards the px7 s2se more because it does sound noticeably better for me. The build quality of the px is also nicer
Comfort wise I’m doing the overnight stretch to lessen the clamp. I did this with the hd560s and it worked wonder.
I have until January 30th to test these two but so far probably going to return the Bose
I’ve been doing the same for past couple of weeks since posting this video and there’s some things I like/dislike about both. I’m thinking of doing an update vid to share my thoughts
Thank you!!! Happy New Years!!!
The most important question of all! How does the B&W PX7S2e perform against the Sennheiser Momentum 4? Is the sound the same or a clear difference? Also regarding the app, as I find the app from B&W very lean. Immature.
By the way, very good video! Beautifully detailed.
I'm a huge fan of the Sennheiser Mometum line since 2017, as I own both the 2 and 3. That said, I returned the Momentum 4 after 1 day of use against the PX7 S2 (not the S2E, which I just purchased recently), and they felt like cheap garbage in construction and weak in sound compared to the S2. So, the S2E blows the Momuntum 4 away even more - don't waste your time with the Momentum 4. I'm sad to say it, having been such a Momentum enthusiast for years. I still love my wired Momentum 2 even.
You can also use the usb c cable connected to your phone / pc usb c port as wired sound. Lossless + charges at same time.
in wich one or both have that option?
Thanks for the comparison, slight typo in the description, both links are to the Bose.
Thank you and good catch!!
Great comparison review!
I never been a big fan of a 100% ANC function.... I want some sounds to come through IF im outside walking in traffic and so on. But i do care about great sound quality. Im going with the B&W headphones over the Bose ones!
That makes complete sense. While the ANC is much better on the Bose, I chose B&W because the sound quality was just much better
Thank you for great review. I thought qc ultra has better call quality than all others. Fist time i hear about good calls using b&w.
I appreciate your kind explanation and I was very satisfied. Thanks!
The PX7 S2e are 229€ at the moment, I am super tempted.
Would have liked to see how they look like when worn. Great format and video production. Great review!!
That is good feedback! I do show how the px7 s2e later in the video but not the QC ultra
Where I'm at these new Bose qc ultras are closer to the px8 in terms of price. Px8 is 599 euro whereas the qc ultra is 500 euro with the exception of one retailer currently having the white qc ultra discounted at 400 euro. Have only tried the px7 s2 and px8 in stores and not sure if it's a psychological thing but I prefer the px8 sound
....For Me Bose Continues To Make Sure I Keep My Money In My. Pocket .
....I Was About To Buy The Ultra But No Passive Listening So I Will Keep My Money Yet Again Bose .
I went with the Bose because of the ANC mainly
The ANC is top tier!
I am able to get the B&W PX7 at the same price as the XM4 for $229 USD ($100 cheaper than XM5 and $50 cheaper than SH M4). What do you think is best VALUE?
I cannot justify the X5 for an extra $100 so the options are really just XM4, B&W and maybe SH M4 (for $50 more).
Preferences by Priority: 1) Sound 2) ANC and Battery 3) EQ Features and Comfort 4) Size and Design
NOTE: please reply quickly as Sale ends in just 2 Days (on 12/31/23).
You said the PX7 s2 has immersive sound..I didn’t think it did. Wanting a set mainly for film / tv so spatial would be cool. Bowers and Wilkins did tell me though that if the film has Dolby atmos it will still play as spatial, but just not head tracking. Not sure if this is true or not..any thoughts?
I believe you’re correct. One of the early product specs I reviewed on a third party site notated having spacial audio. Certainly not the same experiences as the immersive Audi and Apple soacial audio with head tracking
I’m also leaning towards the Px7 S2e, just waiting to see what Apple will come up with next Monday, will they come out with a new pair of Air Pods Max? Great review 👍🏻
Thank you! I’ve been waiting to hear from Apple on the AirPods Max for over a year now so if they come with something new then I’ll have to check it out
On my second pair of px7s2e, both having connection issues after a few months, tried to do all the basic updates, and factory reset and still had issues, they look and sound great but will be switching to Bose
Thank you for 'real' comparison video! I was waiting for this. Is Px7 S2e more whitish? than grey? Will it get dirty easier? I wanna go for S2e but can't decide the color yet
Thanks! I originally picked up the Forest green color but it wasn’t dark enough for me. They give off an off-white or cream hue to me, but time will tell how easily they get dirty.
Mine havent gotten dirty at all yet. They’re also sandstone
If you are buying the s2e don't buy the white or because I had the ps7 s2 and in a few days it starred getting dirty around where you ymhold the headphone to put on your head or adjust them when on your head
The green is what I got and it looks gorgeous in my opinion blue looks the part as well.
But what about the Bang and Olufsen H95 in comparison to the Bowers and Wilkins S2e? I got the h95’s in Chestnut color used for $425 (total after taxes) and think they’re a phenomenal value for that price point which is same as new versions of the headphones you show here. Just wondering if the s2e’s would be great workout companions
Let’s Go Diamondbacks!
good review
Between ultra and px8 which you think is better? Thanks
good video. I have the B&W PX8 and was thinking about buying the Bose Ultra (white or Sandstone) to go with it...more for on the go and the better PX8 for at home. It's probably a waste of money after all. what are you saying?
Interestingly that’s exactly how I thought about using my px7 with the QC ultra. Bose seams more on the go than B&W
Why did you not just test the Bose for calls? I don't think it's fair to say you have used the 700s which are much older and they weren't good, so you just didn't bother. Maybe they are the same but maybe they are different, surely it would have only taken a couple of mins to test them.
Hey, i have the Px8 currently, and thinking to chabge for the Bose. What do you think about them for the sound quality, i mean is the difference that big compare to the B&W? For the day to day use, is the bose ultra more convenient ?
why qc Ultra's york is gold? As i know, the york color is silver.
This color is in sandstone
I enjoyed the comparison between the B&W Px7 S2e and Bose QC Ultra. I'm leaning more towards the B&W mainly due to the price however, I wanted to ask if you had the Sennheiser Momentum 4 to compare as well? If those overall sound better, I would most likely go for those as I think the price justifies what you get
Bro I promise you, I’ve tried the Momentum 4s. Build quality, sound quality, and comfortability all pale in comparison to the S2e. You won’t be disappointed with B&W.
In terms of build quality, S2e is more modern. But in terms of cost and sound quality Momentum 4 is a clear winner. Don't forget the double the batter life. If you have cash to spare, GET S2e. Moment 4 is just good enough - probably get copper or denim version for looks. I have denim and it looks great.
Two completely opposite responses 😂😂😂😂 had momentum’s 4 and they sound amazing so you won’t be disappointed and I got ultras and px7 2se coming in couple of days so let’s see
@@dariuszwojcik1601How were the ultras and the PX7? Stuck between the 2
Did you get that sandstone color early?
They were in the Bose website when I picked them up. They must’ve just dropped that color 🤷🏾♂️
I ordered a pair in that color and it says it will ship on the 19th. I assumed that meant they weren’t released yet. Guess they were.
Anyway, great video.
Hi, would you please guide - which one be be better for Heavy Metal music ?
Hi sir, try the Heavys h1h... my god they will blow your mind 😂😂😂 very loud volume, sound quality is ok, but the immersion is out of this world. Take my words, buy them and you will love them
out of XM5,ultra, and px7 s2e, which one performs best when making a phone call in a loud place?
Haven’t had the chance to test that out yet
Hey man I was wondering which ones are better for the gym ?
I’d probably go with the Bose on the gym wear personally
Honestly? I have both and for ANC bose is a clear winner. But the most important thing here is the clamping force. B&w will never fall off your head. The earcup is larger than bose, so your ear is completely "hide" by the earcup. The clamping force helps the headphone to stay on your head even if you do bench, incline bench or decline bench.... you see the point? 😂. Bose has done a great job, but i prefer the b&w :)
have you also tried the momentum 4? i was curious how does it stands towards this 2.
Momentum 4s do not hold a candle to the S2e. Specifically in build quality, sound quality, and comfort.
Is that sandstone Bose color ?
Yes this is the sandstone color 👍
Bought bose
I currently have both of these and in my opinion its very very close for sound quality. I wasn't expecting Bose to sound this good and this close to B&W. Both of these shit on the XM5.
The more I wear the B&W, the more I miss the punchiness of the Bose. That’s the biggest thing for me
@@SimplyShaad interesting, I found the px7 s2 to have more of a full bodied sound compared to the Bose and that’s with the px7 with no eq and with the Bose having an eq
@@Y-J65what settings are you using for equaliser please
Nice I just got the Bose QC Ultra and i love them!
Just wanna ask you something, have you tried the Momentum 4? Are they louder than Bose Quietconfort Ultra? It Is the same? Which one is louder?
The Momentum 4 was my boy but finally i decided for the Bose because i have the QC Earbuds 1st generation and they are my sunshine haha.
Thanks Bro!
They are solid!
Have you experience the Sennheiser Momentum 4? How does these 2 compare to the Sennheiser?
Sound is better on the Sennheiser M4!
I’m going to have to check the Momentum 4 out!
@@alexander_hropersonally I prefer Bose ultras sound over M4. And wayyyyy comfier on the head.
yes, everyone has different tastes. The Sennheiser has a wider stage and clearer sound. Of course, if someone prefers a smaller stage and undefined sound, they will be happy with the Bose.
@@alexander_hroThe anc also better?
Which are better for jazz music?
My only issue with the bose is they don't have Aptx.
A couple of things I’ve also noticed is; 1. When I pause and play music I hear “call ended” but there’s no actual incoming call. 2. The on-head detection thinks my headphones are taken off when I lift my head and pauses the music. Fixable things but annoying.
Aptx will only be useful if the music streaming can support.
@@Sky-8646Qobuz can
@@Sky-8646💯
They do have aptx….
A problem I found with the QC ultra is if u put pressure on the right ear cup it will make a weird sound. But it only happens if your ear isn’t all the way in the cup. I returned a pair and got a new one and they both did the same thing.
Try the momentum 4s
flimsy? dude you want to wear a heavy steel headphones all day? ultras are the most comfortable headphones.
I do wear them all day for work and are very comfortable 🤷🏾♂️
You sound a little butt hurt. Some people like the heaviness of headphones
