- Bukit Tigapuluh, one of the last tropical lowland forests in Sumatra, is a refuge for many endangered species. These include the Sumatran orangutan, tiger, elephant, rhinoceros and the Asian tapir. But now the forest itself is in danger. The pulp and paper and palm oil industries have devastated large swathes of it.

The more collectivist a country is, the poorer it's people are are, the more they have to rely on destroying their local ecosystem to survive. Slash and burn farming isn't actually very profitable which is why people in less economically oppressed countries don't waste time on it.
freedom=nonviolence=prosperity=people have disposable income to devote to projects like protecting their environments.
collectivism=violence=poverty=people have to resort to exploiting their environments to survive.
Look up the data yourself, the most free-market countries have the lower emissions per capita, higher population densities, more parks and nature reserves... in fact once an economy becomes advanced enough they start to display reforestation as opposed to deforestation.
The best thing we can do for the environment is promote free-markets/nonviolence. Collectivism always requires the use of violence to force people to comply, and it always results in more poverty, which always results in more stress on the environment.

@@svongmskye4879 They actually are not. If you watch enough of these videos these experts directly contradict each other all the time. These are people with no education and not experience acting like they know what they are doing. It is funny but pathetic and sad because these animals are doomed to die because of incompetent people "helping" them.

I hope the people removed the nails that they used to leave the fruit behind so the animals don't end up hurting themselves when going up and down on that spot. That nail could do some serious damage if an orangutang is coming down quickly and doesn't see the nail.

Why are Sumatran Orangutans released quit earlier than the Borneo Orangutans? I like the Sumatran model. Release them when they are young and the can have a easier go at unlearning human habits and dependance.
....and yet it still annoys me when a commentator mispronounces the name as ORANGA-TANGS!!! Grrrr.....she should know better. If she doesn't, then someone needs to tell her BEFORE she narrates a documentary about oranguTANS....
please let us pronounce it wrong. we know the correct way, it's just that saying orangutang is really fun. please don't take that away from us.
