  • Here, we learn how the Layers feature works.
    ~ * ~ * ~
    Better Bloops is a video manual / companion for Blooper, the bottomless looper. Each episode will break off a little chunk and take a good, hard look at it -- how it works, and how you might want to use it.
    Hope it helps.

    Um wow... ok, Blooper’s functionality is extensive, this new series of videos are a great help! Can’t wait to lean more. After this series is complete, it would be cool to see a series that documents practical musical applications of blooper, i.e. where we see someone in the studio uses blooper to creat a section of a song, the some one using blooper live, etc. Blooper deserves an award nomination for ingenuity... amazing!!

    Liking the series thus far. I was able to snag a Blooper for retail price and can't wait to dive into it with this knowledge! I hope to down the line, get a Mood to pair with this after I've played with the Blooper for a few months.

    Hey dude
    enjoying your content, keep it up!
    an idea regarding the packaging:
    maybe put a pair of rubber feet or some paper at the top-side next to the dip switches. When I opened the wooden box of my Tonal Recall-call-call, I recognized that one of the two dip switch elements was dented. (maybe the shipping company forgot to turn down the repeat knob). Returning it was easy, the second one was in a perfect shape-shape-ape.

    Excited to mess with this "track" idea. Tricky on the fly as a "normal looper" (like a Boomerang or Infinity), at least without midi assigned to do extra things... Turn down the layers knob *during* recording, or *after* to "isolate" parts?

      Thing to keep in mind -- the repeat knob (not layers) only does its thing during OVERDUB (ie: orange left LED)
      For example:
      1) Tap left footswitch (Lsw) to record layer A ; position of repeat knob not relevant
      2) Tap Lsw to end first loop; Blooper is now in playback (green LED); you can hear your beautiful loop; repeat knob still doing nothing.
      3) Turn down repeat knob to zero;
      4) Tap Lsw the put Blooper in overdub mode; layer A will repeat for roughly one more full loop;
      5) After that, silence (because repeat was set to zero, it erased your loop after just one repetition);
      6) So now Blooper is in overdub, and provided you're not playing anything, it will continue to loop around silently.
      7) At the next downbeat, play some piddlies and tap Lsw to end your loop, putting your Blooper back into playback mode (Green) and making that last recording your "isolated" layer B
      Its really much easier than it reads

    Is a system for uploading loops in the works? I noticed an upload button on the site with the firmware update. This would be very useful.

    I do fine following along with what’s going on in these movies, but I still don’t have a good idea of what is meant by ramping 🤨 with respect to almost all CBA pedals. Anyone able to easily explain, I’d love that.

      it's essentially just the gradual increase or decrease in the amplitude (volume) of a signal. consider the way the signal bars on a phone are typically represented, then imagine your inputs (or outputs) the same way, but also descending as well.

    500$ for this pedal is steep yet why can’t I stop thinking about it?

    TALK FASTER. & how about LAYER-ing off the weed for long enough to do a pedal walkthrough that could have taken 2 minutes

    Wow... between this channel and the "Knobs" channel, you haven't done anything but explain this pedal for over a year. Why build something so complicated that it takes 784, 10 minute videos to explain it?

      @@Daydreaminginmono right on. and of course it could be rangemasters and DS-1s if that's your thing to make beautiful music and have fun. But we chose to build something that takes 784, 10 minute videos to explain and that's cool too imho.
