Just came across your channel, after viewing your review of the printers you use.
First, let me wish you much luck in your journey. I know this video is 11 months old now and I see you’ve done more. But, let me retroactively throw some positive energy your way.
I know the need to find yourself again after doing something for so long that did not fulfill you. Happy for you to have made that change! Aspiring to what is “expected” of you can be tough, if it’s not what you expect of yourself. But it sounds like your parents wanted to be the best. You get to choose in what you’re the best.
Secondly, it is IMPORTANT to “be bored”. Sitting “with yourself” is so very important.
Hopefully, folks can find a way to do both-take care of their basic needs AND sit with themselves.
Didn’t find your videos while “doom scrolling”. I was really looking for something to listen to in the background while I have my attention on being productive. Sometimes we need that background “noise” to help us focus (neurodivergent).
    Thank you and good luck.

thank you so much! "Aspiring to what is "expected" of you can be tough, if it's not what you expect of yourself." is such a good summary of the struggle of many of us. I should use this sentence to aways remind myself not fall back into that trap. I'm so glad my video wasn't a part of "doom scrolling", your comment is another sign of making more slow paced video with meaningful conversation. Thank you!

Sometimes, you gotta take a step back to move forward. And embracing discomfort? Well, it's like biting into a sour fruit - unpleasant at first, but it wakes you up.

Great video! 😊 Very insightful words on a topic that I can certainly relate to. I feel creative tension almost every day, and some days I do distract myself with things that probably don't matter to my end goal. I'm in a bit of a challenging situation right now, as I have to learn and practice new skills to reach my ultimate goal as a creative. I hope I can get in the habit of doing what I need to do. 🙂

Thank you so much for sharing. You are making such a good point that habit is what takes us to where we need to go. Best wishes to your journey on learning new skills! 😉

Your video couldn't come at a better time! That's why I feel stuck in one place like a sad hamster on a wheel. I move a lot but am not getting closer to my goal. Thanks for the book recommendation and for sharing your thoughts and feelings.

I’m glad to hear the video helped you in some ways, Leo. I hope you find time and opportunities to take care of yourself and your mind soon. I too, still working on slowly experimenting a new manageable structure to pursue my goals. Recently, I’m reading another new great book called “Slow Productivity” by Cal Newport. I think you’ll like it. 😉
