- Jimmy Kimmel is celebrating his son Billy's latest milestone. On Instagram, the late night host reveals he and wife Molly McNearney's 7-year-old underwent his third open heart surgery. Alongside a photo of Billy in a hospital room smiling big, Jimmy updated fans on his latest procedure, writing, 'We went into this experience with a lot of optimism and nearly as much fear and came out with a new valve inside a happy, healthy kid.' In 2017, Jimmy revealed that Billy was born with a heart condition.
Billie is such a sweetheart! I hope he’s doing better and has a very long, healthy and happy life ahead of him. Praying for Jimmy and his family🙏🏻💙

My grandson son was born with a hole in his heart . At 3 yrs old he was at Children’s Hospital LA to close the hole in his heart! They send kids like him every year to a camp on Catalina Island. Hei13 a straight A student, used to play Pop Warner football till he was 11. Ironically my son ( his Dad) was born with no nerve cells at the end of his intestine and had a colostomy at 5 days old at the same hospital. When he was about 1 year old they reconnected it to return and he too is a healthy 45 year old if two beautiful children my grandson 13 and my granddaughter 9! THANK GOD CHILDRENS HISPITAL LA!

Jimmy, a friend of mines daughter went through a similar experience as your son. I believe she ultimately had 5 or6 surgeries. She is now a practicing MD. Good luck to your family.

I am so happy for you and your wife and especially for Billy. It is nice to see that little ones with heart problems can now be saved. I lost my daughter in 1984 of a heart problem. The technology back then was not what it is today. She died 1 month short of turning 5. She would be 45 today.
