Looks like FOX took the easy way out & cut him. I would’ve been fine with an Indian (or Indian-American) actor voicing him once Hank Azaria stepped down similar to casting a black man to voice Doctor Hibbert
@@LucyLioness100 All those Indian celebrities who say they hate Apu because he is a caricature of Indian Stereotypes, they embrace those stereotypes on TV as well
I'm an avid Simpsons viewer, and there was no episode that made more fun of its characters than the episode when Homer becomes the dishwasher at a Greek restaurant. It made fun of every Greek stereotype for about 28 minutes in a 30 minute show. I'm so glad that the Greek episode was not on this list. We Greeks, got a great sense of humor. OPA!!!
In the episode when Apu became a citizen, we learn that he has a background in computer science. So why not make bring back Apu and have him be a software engineer or something of that nature. Remove him from the Kwik E Mart, not the whole damn series!!

To be clear. Australia was never offended by the Simpsons. Ever. I wish people would stop saying that they were. They are thinking of brazil. Not the sane place.
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion but I’m still a bit upset over Apu leaving. Was he a stereotype? Yes, but most of the characters are stereotypes. It’s supposed to be satirical. Groundskeeper Willie is a stereotypical Scotsman yet I don’t see campaigns trying to get rid of him. Even Homer himself is a huge stereotype of American men. Considering that Apu was a hardworking and smart man I think he was one of the lucky ones.
You should make a Top 10 Times The Simpson family became Pariahs. A few examples are the Simpsons Movie where they get chased by an angry mob, along with the episode where the town turns on the Simpsons for lying about the burglar.
I absolutely understand why people where so upset and even offended about the character of Apu on the Simpsons, however, what I don’t get at all is why Morrissey was such a baby about being made fun of on an animated program when the Simpsons have mocked so many celebrities and thrown shade for years! If something about the show bothers you: JUST CHANGE THE CHANNEL AND DON’T WATCH IT!! Plain and simple.
The Simpsons always lean HEAVILY into how the USA stereotypes a country when they visit one, that's the joke. To show how silly and out of touch it is.
Homer is literally a stereotype of the white American. Almost every character is a stereotype, no matter where in the world they come from. There is no reason Apu would be any different, and an easier and more obvious "solution" to the babies would have been to ease him out of stereotypes and make him a bit more "authentic." It should have been easy. He was a 3 dimensional character. Flawed but with a lot of heart.
I think in an episode, there should be a character called Tara Swann, a former teen country-turned pop singer who sings a song called "You Better Chill Out" calling out all the Simpsons critics, making friends with The Simpsons and other Springfield residents! All the characters in the video for "You Better Chill Out" Apu Princess Cashmir (Homer's Night Out) Smithers Jesse Grass (Lisa The Tree Hugger) The Rich Texan Brady Wallace (The Monkey Suit) Fritz and Hans (Burns Verkaufen Der Kraftwerk) Karl (Simpson and Delilah) Ashley Grant (Homer Badman) Barney Gumble Milhouse Van Houten Krusty The Clown Sideshow Mel Mr. Teeny Ruth Powers Cletus and Brandine The Hibberts Mrs. Barrera (Teenage Mutant Milk Caused Hurdles) Grady and Julio (Three Gays Of The Condo) Jerry Springer Lurleen Lumpkin Patty and Selma, their adopted daughter from China, and their iguana Jub-Jub Stampy The Elephant Artie Ziff Jacque Brunswick(Life In The Fast Lane) Caleb Thorne(Bonfire Of The Manatees) Mindy Simmons (Last Temptation of Homer) Ginger Quilloughby(Panic On The Street Of Springfield and a lot more, and it shown them having summer vacation in a swimming pool, getting tan, having fun getting in food fights, goofing off! And Tara Swann should be singing, "This series is not about two mentally challenged teenaged boys on their couch(Beavis and Butthead) then, "This series is not about mountain people from a Park down South (South Park), You Better Chill Out! Talking about taking shots at The Simpsons like it's Patron! Shade won't make cartoon just for kids! Tara Swann should be voiced by Jeannette McCurdy! Tara Swann is based on Taylor Swift and You Better Chill out is based on You Need To Calm Down.
I am from Brazil and that episode with the Simpsons in Rio lands all the stereotypes with which our government sells the tourism in our country... unfortunately!
you're probably right, especially with Disney at the helm. I remember they used to say if one of the mains died, they'd stop the show...but doubt that's true anymore. They'll just replace them now.

Removing Apu is just a good move for idiots. Although Homer and Ned woke up hangover in the bathtub is very funny.
"Ohhh! They Look Like Skittles!"
Me(A Millennial): OH SHIT! LOL
New orelands one
I think their should be a sign saying "apologies for anyone in new orelands"
A Star is Burns is my all-time favorite episode of the Simpsons. All of the jokes land so well, and it is the funniest episode of the show. Matt Groening shouldn’t have pulled his name from the episode credits, considering 25 years later he has much worse work on his record and really doesn’t care.
I’m Indian and I don’t even find him racist. Why don’t that they just bring him back and even have an Indian actor play him
Looks like FOX took the easy way out & cut him. I would’ve been fine with an Indian (or Indian-American) actor voicing him once Hank Azaria stepped down similar to casting a black man to voice Doctor Hibbert
@@LucyLioness100 All those Indian celebrities who say they hate Apu because he is a caricature of Indian Stereotypes, they embrace those stereotypes on TV as well
@@9340Singhpeople will be hypocrites for time onward. It’s just ridiculous
Bring back Apu and his family!
Yes
Plus that’s one of the many jobs actual Indian-Americans do hold. My dad has been in software engineering for my entire life and he’s worked with a lot of Indian computer engineers
AHHHH. I loved how they mocked Morrissey. They were spot on!
Watch mojo is a good channel 👌👍
I asked my buddies boss. Who is Indian and runs a 7 11. What he thought about Apu. He said he was hilarious. Said he was jokingly his hero. But he could see why others don't like him.
I forgot how good the show used to be. Now they try too hard and cave in to the PC.
Amazing video of outrage of the Simpsons watch mojo and fantastic job.
Removing Apu was pure cringe
Hari Kondabolu you win... You Win the hate of Simpson fans!
Being Australian I can say I was not offended in the slightest by the episode poking fun at Australia as a whole, I actually use the term "dollerydoos" quite often now
Honestly I can see why the network cut the Simpsons joke from family guy. It's literally Quagmire forcing himself onto Marge until she's overpowered and raped and somehow after Quagmire is done she states how much she enjoyed it...... and then he proceeds to murder the entire family. There's no actual joke just pure shock value
That entire family guy show is the same.. But again like that Hari guy Seth is offended...

I personally thought I was kind of cool that he was spoke to his member of Parliament who live down the street 😂
Apu is a stereotype but that's what the show is homer is the stereotypical American dad bart is the stereotypical misbehaving child and so on if u can't deal with stereotyping then don't watch the show
Homer is not stereotypical
@@lexkanyima2195 its an exaggerated stereotype
Getting parodied on the Simpsons, is the equivalent of being roasted by Don Rickles. It is a badge of honor
Nice video I have Idea can you the top 10 times family guy caused major outrage
Even Matt Groening himself…
I'm surprised the Mayor of New Orleans wasnt on the list for the "Street Car Named Marge" song about the city! 😆
Ooh, now that would be a good one.
Only the slightest mention of "A Streetcar Named Marge", with the infamous take on New Orleans? For shame, WatchMojo!
It’s funny apu was so controversial it took 30 years to be offensive
The Simpsons always lean HEAVILY into how the USA stereotypes a country when they visit one, that's the joke. To show how silly and out of touch it is.
Homer is literally a stereotype of the white American. Almost every character is a stereotype, no matter where in the world they come from.
There is no reason Apu would be any different, and an easier and more obvious "solution" to the babies would have been to ease him out of stereotypes and make him a bit more "authentic." It should have been easy.
He was a 3 dimensional character. Flawed but with a lot of heart.
Lol, Fox News was worried that it’s viewers would confuse a cartoon ticker for a real one?
People are SO SENSITIVE its hard to even laugh honestly these days!!!!
I think in an episode, there should be a character called Tara Swann, a former teen country-turned pop singer who sings a song called "You Better Chill Out" calling out all the Simpsons critics, making friends with The Simpsons and other Springfield residents! All the characters in the video for "You Better Chill Out"
Apu
Princess Cashmir (Homer's Night Out)
Smithers
Jesse Grass (Lisa The Tree Hugger)
The Rich Texan
Brady Wallace (The Monkey Suit)
Fritz and Hans (Burns Verkaufen Der Kraftwerk)
Karl (Simpson and Delilah)
Ashley Grant (Homer Badman)
Barney Gumble
Milhouse Van Houten
Krusty The Clown
Sideshow Mel
Mr. Teeny
Ruth Powers
Cletus and Brandine
The Hibberts
Mrs. Barrera (Teenage Mutant Milk Caused Hurdles)
Grady and Julio (Three Gays Of The Condo)
Jerry Springer
Lurleen Lumpkin
Patty and Selma, their adopted daughter from China, and their iguana Jub-Jub
Stampy The Elephant
Artie Ziff
Jacque Brunswick(Life In The Fast Lane)
Caleb Thorne(Bonfire Of The Manatees)
Mindy Simmons (Last Temptation of Homer)
Ginger
Quilloughby(Panic On The Street Of Springfield
and a lot more, and it shown them having summer vacation in a swimming pool, getting tan, having fun getting in food fights, goofing off!
Suggestions : Top 10 worst things that happened to the simpsons (family or show).
Let’s face it, This show will go on forever
you're probably right, especially with Disney at the helm. I remember they used to say if one of the mains died, they'd stop the show...but doubt that's true anymore. They'll just replace them now.
did not know about the stanley cup or Ullman issue you learn something new everyday
Wait was it that Quagmire rapes Marge? That is the stupidest thing you can put on TV
The Simpsons, SNL, Family Guy, and South Park have shown that their main point in the shows are to annoy everyone throughout the years, and the Network Censors let them do their job
As an Indian the removal of apu was a loss. At least we were represented even if it was only in 7-11's lmao. I loved him.
I did feel that the Morrissey caricature was especially mean-spirited.
