    I think you are misunderstanding how this all works. Songtrust etc, they all collect publishing side royalties INCLUDING international royalties which is the main appeal. International royalties are a pain in the butt when it comes to collecting yourself. So in other words, I condone them for what they do.

    TikTok keeps flagging my original songs and saying they are copyright infringement
    How can I fix this?

    Well, I know u said, it’s good to have a relationship with the publishers, but for what? If their job is just to collect whats generated. Is it for the sync opportunities? And how on earth can an artist have time to worry about collecting all their royalties every month and be a artist?

    Had to stop using song trust and do it my self. They never got my royalties right.

    I can't speak for anyone else but for me personally, I never collected any international royalties until I signed up with Songtrust... and the DSP I collected the most from was RUclips. And since Songtrust is linked with The MLC, all my works automatically flowed over to their platform (for me to collect stateside)

      That because you were missing two accounts. Music Reports and HFA. I'm not bashing them I'm just saying there better options. I don't like middle men unless they are totally necessary.

      @@MusicMoneyMakeover how would you recommend an independent artist to go? Like which route do you suggest that would be most profitable and personal at the same time??

      @donnas8408 Год назад

      Run from distrokid and stop supporting any subscription companies you morons you just be paying him for the rest of your life and you don’t own anything at least CD Baby pay one time and your songs up forever so what you got to give them a little bit of percentage expect everything in life are free stop pennypinching

    Doing it yourself sounds good until you have 300 songs in your catalogue. Just let these platforms handle it for you. Pick which ever one you like and focus on making music

    • @MusicMoneyMakeover
      @MusicMoneyMakeover  6 месяцев назад

      Nah you just don't have a plan yet. Put one together and then see how well these companies fit into that plan.

      the reason its confusing - its a massive complex of stuff to learn - streaming distributors, Non and interactive royalties , Sound exchange, MLC, PROs, Copyrights, Understanding meaning of Contracts, ( ex read CD baby new artist agreement) Timing of registrations to have done before online distribution, Neighboring rights administrators, Splits, Publishing, Worldwide distribution, how to get all your royalties... - I had to study alot to even begin to make sense of it but then it at least becomes semi understandable - but if you try to just zoom in... it can seem like a jungle , Ari's Take has a whole lot of answers. platforms dont buy the music they administer it for public consumption ie streams
