"this is just a sneaker with Motorcycle protection built into it" that had me dying of laughter, just from how you said it. you guys are awesome keep up the great work!
I had a pair of Super Duty 4s for about a year and have since gone to the Astar SMX-1s. IMO they are much more comfortable and seem to offer much more protection. Those Dianese Dynos look pretty sweet.
beware when buying dainese or spidy or alpinestars boots, italian brands numbers are usually too narrow, so if you for example normally have an 40EU number, choose a 41 if you buy dainese, spidi, etc.
I agree that they are narrow, but that will often loosen up quite a bit after some break in. I only have experience with different Alpinestars boots. But for me, as someone with wide feet, they are way too long. I always have to go down at least one size. For the Supertech R I have to go from size 47 to size 45 to get my heel fully back and stable and my toes close enough to the tip so it doesn't feel clumsy and awkward when I'm on my toes.
Question in Race boots - would i have to go for a size bigger than my usual if im wearing it over my race suit? I’d think the manufacturers would definitely consider this, cause they’re race boots
Does a short boot offer ankle protection? I ride a 77 Suzuki enduro that I do about 60/40 road/trail. I’d like to feel safe for my ankles in planting my foot into cornering in sand and dirt but don’t want to have to full boot up to my shins when commuting
Most short boots/shoes will offer a hard TPU cup at the ankle to protect the bone from an impact on the side, however no short boot protects the ankle from torsional injuries. That is where a tall boot with bracing comes in handy. If you have any other questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to our Gear Geeks at 877.792.9455 or cs@revzilla.com. Ride safe, -Pat

are race boots a tight fit? like I wear a size 12 in my work boot.would I go the same size in a race boot? or do they run small? narrow ? tight? that's my problem on picking out a pair.
Race boots should be snug but not tight. Additionally, most race boot brands are European and therefore come in European sizes. For size US12, you'll likely be Euro size 45 or 46. Dainese tends to be a little narrower, while Alpinestars and TCX tend to be a little wider. -DrewZilla

Check Alpinestars. They tend to have some pretty big sizes, but even with them, most stop at 15. -CK

My boot feels comfortable, but i can easily put two fingers in the back of my heel. Should i go a size down?
Possibly, but you also don't want your boots to be too tight. A size down will probably be about a centimeter shorter. -DrewZilla
