I'm 59 and have been applying 0.06mg of estradiol gel (bio-identical) to my arm every morning and taking 200mg of progesterone every evening for three and a half years. Now I have endometrial hyperplasia, with a 1cm endometrial lining and a lot of cramps (like when your uterus contracts after giving birth). I'm having an endometrial biopsy soon (hopefully) and am very sure this is because of the estradiol as it can do this. It's not know how much estradiol each woman needs, or what the correct estradiol-progesterone balance is for each individual. It may even be the case that I'd need a hysterectomy because of the endometrial hyperplasia. I've also just realised that I eat foods that are relatively high in phytoestrogens (e.g. ground flaxseeds, chai seeds, sunflower seed bread, soy and tofu), yet my gynaecologist didn't ask anything about my diet before prescribing hormones, and it never occurred to me to consider this before. I think this should be done routinely so that data can be collected to help establish connections with endometrial hyperplasia and estradiol taken for HRT in post-menopausal women. I also just wanted to say that if you're a post-menopausal woman taking combined HRT (estradiol and progesterone) and still have your uterus, it's worth asking for an ultrasound after at least two years to check your uterus lining. I asked for this, which my gynaecologist was surprised about, and I paid for it privately as it's not routinely done. That's when it was shown that my endometrial lining has been thickening. For post-menopausal women, your endometrial lignin shouldn't be more than 5mm thick. Just wanted to put that out there! 🌸

Thank you so much for sharing your story.🥰 Many Functional Medicine drs recommend using a bio-identical progesterone oil or cream rubbed into lower abdomen to prevent endometrial lining build up and also taking supplements such as CALCIUM D GLUGARATE, DIM, NAC, alpha Lipoic acid, milk thistle, dandelion leaf/root and multi vitamins/mins to keep hormone receptors clean and not gunked up..doing regular detoxes and saunas - all to help keep our body clear from excessive exogenous hormones and also the plethora of toxic xenoestrogens and other xenohormones - we are exposed to form a conventional diet (pesticides are xenoestrogens, any food or drink in plastic, chemicals in face and body products, synthetic clothing and anything with PFAS BPA etc etc
Eat organic foods, use organic non-chemical face body home products - no chemical products, no plastic use helps lessen the daily xenoestrogens/xenohormone load on our body.

Did your dr explain how much of the oral progesterone is actually utilized after the liver processes it?

    • @iss8504
      @iss8504 10 месяцев назад +3

Phytoestrogens are extremely weak; if you have phytoestrogens and real estrogen, the receptors ignore the phytoestrogens.

I take HRT sequentially, I take two progesterone tablets at night for 12 days and then a few days later I get a period, which I don’t mind and this is a small inconvenience compared to menopause symptoms. Anyway the prescription says to take it orally but my liver is not great and I did some research and found that you can put the capsules in your vagina (after my GP said I couldn’t). Anyway the interesting thing is on the occasional month I took the tablets orally I hardly had any menstrual flow which to me says that taken as prescribed it does not do its job, which could have serious consequences- build up of the lining. If you take HRT consecutively you really have no idea what is happening inside you unless you get a scan.

My doctor prescribed progesterone via the Mirena IUD. I’ve read that progesterone delivered in this way-locally is considered the most effective/safest.
I am curious about how an MD determines the proper progesterone dose, and how much the Mirena delivers, because she’s increasing the strength of ky estrogen patch due to my persistent symptoms-mainly some urinary frequency/urgency. She ruled out a UTI. Thanks for posting. Good luck!

I'm 70 now and despite getting endometrial cancer and leukaemia I take HRT (estrogen only) as life is not worth living without it and I am not exagerating that statement. The trauma of 2 years of 30 hot flushes per hour night and day, for two years in 2006-2008, I believe is what triggered my chronic leukaemia. The positives definitely outway the negatives with HRT. Keeping slim, no alcohol, nutrient dense food and exercise I believe are the keys avoiding breast cancer

I did not take HRT due to aggressive breast cancer in the family genetics. Went through menopause cold turkey. Used to go red as a tomato in some meetings when stressed and I just laughed it off and briefly explained it was hormone fluctuations. The participants in the meetings were very non judgemental so I never worried about hot flushes after that. The hot flushes and night sweats were annoying but I got through it with iced water drinks, humour and front opening garments so that when I overheated I could remove layers quickly. Jumpers had to go. If you have to go through the menopause cold turkey you can do it. If you can take the help of HRT then you will have an easier time but you can do it without the HRT if you have to for medical reasons. Good luck everyone.

Make sure your doctor is tracking estrogen metabolites and also Estrone. You want to make sure your body isn't shunting all that good estradiol into Estrone, which causes inflammation and *can* cause cancer. Synthetic progestins also cause cancer in studies, so make sure you're on bioidentical progesterone. There is a safe way to do HRT even if there's cancer in your family, but your doc has to know what they're doing!

I am now pre-diabetic, A1C just barely over 6. You are outside the window. I would get the prediabetes under control. That's the real risk for breast cancer. Then get a coronary calcium score. If it's Zero, you have no heart disease and maybe hrt can be startes. You're late tho...10 year after menopause plus pre-diabetic means your cardiovascular system has been damaged.

@@iss8504 I know, that's why I'm asking. I'm trying to mitigate ongoing problems. My understanding is that even if started late, HRT may not help as much, but doesn't necessarily make it somehow more risky. The metabolic specialist to whom I was referred by my PCP basically offered ozempic along with an old-school food/diet guide, just as lazy as most ob/gyn's (present company excluded, of course). So how do you recommend I "get the prediabetes under control?" Also, my PCP says if I don't personally have heart issues, I don't need a cardiac referral prior to seeing my gyn. Should I persist and seek the coronary calcium score?

Find a Dr who is a hormone specialist. They will take many more blood tests than any general physician does and then they will work on balancing your hormones. You may need a few trials to get it right. You won’t know yourself after balancing your hormones. It’s wonderful.

I tried bio identical 15 years after menopause at age 66 and put on so much weight after a few attempts it was depressing . The cream is expensive and was told I had to keep on trying till I find the exact doses. I had to do a blood test, a hormone test , a mammogram and an ultra sound . How come it is the GP and not a gynaecologist who are giving these out? would it be better if both were involved ? I was given low doses . What about when we have taken the conteceptive pill for many years previously ? What effect does that have ? What about nutrition , supplements which we may deficient in ? I was on HRT for three years and then I developed two blood clots in one of my legs. My obgyn took me off the HRT and I've been miserable ever since and have been trying all sorts of herbs. Etc. I was taking off my HRT I about two years ago. I recently asked her about getting back on iHRT. She advised against it and said once you were taking off you really should not go back on it. I don't know if a doctor is monitoring these comments and maybe could answer any questions regarding this.

I would take a non-hormone added product before ANY HRT especially if you are sensitive already. The issue is MOST women have been given hormones ever since their 20's, sometimes even younger. It's tricking our bodies, and creating many symptoms which can become cancerous and problematic later on. Check out MoonMaid Botanicals for an herbal-based alternative that is known to aid PMDD and menopause without the added hormones and synthetics. IF that doesn't work, then you could try out a hormone.... but I'd try alternatives first.

I am looking at this also. I have had dryness and some uti. Dr wants me on estradiol cream. Said it only affects vagina area. It is not hrt. I researched and found that in European Court of justice Drs have presented a report that say the same cream is systemic after 4 weeks and they wanted the literature that accompanies the cream to be changed. A delay has been placed on this paper, so this will delay the changes. Now I see media articles saying women have a tough choice to make, basically listing all the pros and risks. It's like they know what is coming? I am still looking at herbalism. Cleavers contain silica for strong bones and teeth, Borage for the brain. These plants contain powerful natural chemicals. I am going to try the following for the dryness: Vit E, probiotic suppositories, Sea buckthorn oil, more water, garlic, apples, red clover. I was very blessed in that I did not have any serious hot flashes, mood swings etc, but I got rid of a seriously stressful job a while ago. Get stress out of your life. Men handle stress better than women. Sounds sexist, but stress is destroying women's lives. Also, do not panic, there is no rush. We have to age, it is NATURAL. Do not panic. Slow everything right down. Get yourself right, adjust things and explore what you can do to look after you. Go easy on yourself and be kind. Speak to your man and be calm and explain everything to them, so they can understand. Most men just want their women to be healthy and to love them. Men are not sex addicts and they can actually be very considerate and loving and caring during their woman's menopause. Some older men would actually much rather go fishing than have sex, remember that they are getting older also, they just are. Go easy on them. Everything will be OK. I do not know if I will explore the estradiol cream with a healthy lifestyle, I am still researching. All I know is that all the women I know on hormones or who have coils etc, are not well. They are not a good advertisement for the product, bless them, one friend just had a massive tumour cut out of her stomach, Dr said it was a ulcer for 12 months , 3 more months surgeon said she would have been dead. One friend has terrible cramps and headaches and they won't take her coil out yet and she wants it out. You can see why I don't like the idea of hormones. Also, I smell a lot of fear around this subject, and fear and sex sells, and it sells big. I looked at a book last night that talked about the hard sell of hrt to women during ww2, and they used by emotive advertising to persuade women to use hrt. It was quite disturbing. I don't know if this has helped, but talking to real women, who aren't trying to sell you something is always a good place to start.

@@denisebucknall1591 I have put synthetic hormones on hold because I read a book called The Bitter Pill by Dr Ellen Grant. She worked on the trials of the pill in the UK. Every time the Dr's offered me oestrogen cream I kept remembering what she had written. She wrote about the weight gain, the cell changes in the liver etc, the hair loss, the changes in personality, the depression and even suicides. How it ruined relationships, cancers etc. If I hadn't have read her book I would have grabbed that cream. I wanted to find a more natural, better way. I discovered a book called Your Body's many cries for water by Dr Batmanghelidj. He says we need to drink minimum of 8 x8 oz glasses of water per day. You have to have a few crystals of sea salt on your tongue to dissolve before each glass. This helps the body use the water in the cells. Kick caffeine out of your life bit by bit. It squeezes water out of the body. When you drink less than 8 glasses of water, the brain rations the water and wants 18-20 % for itself, then it goes to the main organs, there often isn't much left for other parts of the body, so the body suffers and develops many symptoms. This is because it is crying out for water. Dr then gives you pills that silence the brain's communication with the affected part of the body, so further damage takes place if water is not put into the system. Clean up you diet also, eat very simple and healthy, especially as you make this transition. Make sure you don't put any parabens onto your skin. Search Google and find out what they are. That book is worth its weight in gold. Get a copy. I have read that 5% camomile gel used inside the vagina is as good as oestrogen cream but safer. If you Google you will find there is a study being done in Iran on this topic. Also, at some point find a professional herbalist. Keep calm and know that you are making a transition, don't panic about anything, you are blessed to have got this far and you will make it if you take the time to look after yourself, really look after yourself and be kind to yourself. God bless you on your journey. Ps: If you suffer from UTI's or know anyone who does, you can always research chlorine dioxide, it apparently kills biofilms in the bladder, where colonies of ecoli can hide, making it difficult for the immune system to shift them. I just suggest researching it. I have only just found out about it myself. Just thought I would pass this information on because I know what it feels like when you think there is no hope and no help. There is always hope 👍👍

I have a question about menopause symptoms, for a year now I’ve had a light headedness, I can only explain it as a spaced out feeling. It’s taking it’s toll on me now I’ve asked the doctor about it and he’s said it’s just the menopause but yet I’m supposedly out of the menopause now so post menopause!! I’m desperate to now find out what’s wrong with me and to see it it is the actual menopause or is it something else sinister 😞 I’m begging of you to help me put my mind at peace ♥️

Please ask to have your pregnenalone tested. It took two years of dealing with extreme brainfog and Dr's just shrugging before I asked for the test, which came back low. I started supplementing with low dose pregnenolone 2 weeks ago and the brain fog is significantly reduced

Please have a look at what PETA have to say about HRT and the cruelty to the horses, mares, who are used to provide the hormones.
I have come through menopause without HRT. It was tough at times.
But I was determined to NOT cause suffering in order to ease any of my difficulties while going through a natural process.
Thankfully it doesn't last forever. Good luck.

You were lucky. For some it’s a nightmare every day and night. Biogenetical patches do not have the Premarin. So they are natural. No horses involved.

    • @freescot8035

      No, I wasn't lucky - I had a really harsh time for more than a decade.@@susanloffhagen7788
When you say 'biogenetical' treatment is natural - is it plant based?
Also, women should be aware that no HRT is a miracle cure.
I understand from reading medical articles that there are possible health risks associated with any HRT (even though a now infamous research paper from many years ago has since been found to be inaccurate more recent studies have found problems and side effects that should be openly disscussed here)
Menopause is a huge challenge and really really rough on many of us.
There is alot of encouraging information on alternative ways to ease symptoms naturally - through what we eat, emotional support, moving our bodies, finding joy and peace where we can - I found being outside and walking helped alot. Having said that, there were many many days that were just so tough.
Good luck everyone and to you too Susan =) Like I said, it will eventually pass.

I couldn't stand this video because it's blatant lack of transparency. The stories of women having a tough time at work , feelings if depression, anger , mood suicidal thoughts. The elephant in the room is how this affects women's relationship with their husbands or significant others. The impact of menopausal symptoms does not simply end with the woman. It's impact is felt via their personal relationships. Let's talk about how many divorces menopausal symptoms were responsible for. Let's talk about the poor treatment men have been in the receiving end of these menopausal women. The fact that this vital area was left unspoken but menopause at work was highlighted is self centered and quite frankly a joke and an insult. Why don't we ask the speaker how her husband felt as she carried on with her uncontrolled menopausal behavior. It was made clear that personality changes occured and not for the better. No accountability in this regard when talking about marriage and menopause and the destructive sword that is welded. Menopause , hysterectomy and divorce are all intertwined. Why not speak on that fact instead of talking about having to pee at work or being to tired to get a promotion. Omission of vital truths can be defined as a lie. A lie can be defined as malicious. This woman is a self serving joke and a coward for not speaking on the real impact that can turn lives and families upside down. Men with their problems are to blame for many things that go wrong in relationships. In the case of menopause , women are left to be accountable. Of course like all feminist propaganda , the hard truths that negatively impact an individual woman's value NEVER gets spoken about.
This speaker is a coward and a liar by omission of the hard truth.
