Steve there is a math formula for the as well the measure the blade height (flat surface to top of blade) divide by blade pitch length (leading edge to trailing edge) x by180 and by divide pie ( 3.14159) = pitch
Getting the correct fan blade with the correct pitch can be very important. I worked heavy industry all my life. We had cooling towers with 8 foot blades. Each blade had to be set to the correct pitch for proper air flow and current draw. I am sure proper blades on condensing units would be very important. That's a handy little tool. Thanks for sharing.
I have had one of those pitch gauges for the last 20 years! I used it last year with the guys at the hospital when we replaced the (7)seven foot fan blades inside our Balitmore AirCoil cooling tower, (eight blades total). That pitch gauge worked like a charm because you had to set the pitch of each blade individually. The failure was a support above the blades on the velocity stack stress cracked and fell into the running fan blades. That repair with our inhouse labor cost the hospital $10,500 just for the blades. The more my 16 employees and myself can repair inhouse, keeps all of us out of the unemployment line!
nice tool there steven.last friday i had my heil central airconditioner repaired here in texas, they said it was the condenser fan motor, and also the fan blade, he said the hub wore out on the fanblade, total price including 2 hours labor was 504.04 = did that sound like a fair price? the unit is a 2001 model i think,
Dude I’m just trying to determine the pitch of my life quick P 25 Lakewood not language but my leg would be 25 bucks family OK surplus city liquidators they have a 20° pitch Two bladed fan blade that I might put on there but I wasn’t sure if 20° was too big or not
